The Guesthouse is situated in the center of the old town, where there are a lot of good restaurants and shops/markets. The room where clean and the staff vere serviceminded and kind. It was almost familiary :-). The guesthouse is an old building but the price per room is low so thats ok.

Situated in the old town a few minutes from lots of bars and restaurants and the atlantic ocean is a 5 minute walk away with a nice stroll along to the harbour. The scenery in Madeira is stunning

My wife and I stayed for 5 nights. The owner/manager, Daniel, was really great with communication pre/during our stay, which we appreciated. We stayed in the triple room, which had a great view but small balcony, and the room overall was small but enough space to crash at the end of a long day. Location is great, but be prepared to hear bass music until early morning hours on the weekends from nearby clubs. It’s very close to downtown, less than 5 min walk from the main downtown area, but far enough away that you can escape the tourists for a bit. We are vegan/gluten free, so we couldn’t do breakfast that was offered. There’s a kitchen and a fridge if you want to buy your own groceries. Coffee is self serve and cost 0,50€. Lots of stairs, but we’re able bodied so it wasn’t too bad. Overall, great experience for the price. Would book again.

We have just returned from a short break to Madeira and had a lovely stay. John the owner is a lovely gentleman and his son Alberto made us very welcome. The hotel is very central and only a five minute walk to the cable car, buses and restaurants. Although the hotel is dated decor wise it is spotlessly clean. We had the breakfast and the Madeira breakfast rolls are delicious, the breakfast is great value. We will return to this hotel. Thanks John and your family for a lovely trip!
