Great family villa in Funchal | Casa Petronella

Being one of the learger villas in Madeira, it offers two Master Bedrooms, each with their own en-suite bathroom, one on the ground floor, ideal for those with mobility restrictions, and one on the first floor. A double bedroom and a further bedroom with a double bed and two single beds (single bed with pull-out single low single bed) share the family bathroom on the first floor. All first-floor bedrooms lead to the balcony that runs along the whole front of the house with views of the mountains and sea - the perfect place for quiet moment.
On the lower ground floor, off the entrance, is a further bedroom with two double beds which use the shower room next door of the games/yoga room. Although the house is shown for a maximum occupancy of 12, by sharing the double beds in this room, the maximum capacity goes up to 14.

The owners of Casa Petronella own and operate the Nau Santa Maria, a replica of Comubus's sailing ship, which offers daily sails along the coast. Guests of Casa Petronella benefit from a 10% discount when tickets are purchased locally via the owner and paid in cash.

Swimming pool heating:
Heating is optional and costs 190,00€ per week for 24ºC, 220€ per week for 25ºC and 260€ per week for 26ºC paid in cash on arrival.

Pool heating can be provided and should be requested at least one week in advance. Should it be requested after arrival at the villa, the minimum charge applicable is one week, which is payable from the time the heating is turned on.

Nearby
The nearest facilities are only 300m away. Here you will find a mini-market, a fruit and vegetable shop, a couple of cafés and a pizzeria. A large supermarket, petrol station, restaurants, cafés and other shops (such as a butcher, bank and pharmacy) can be found 700 metres away.
Funchal centre and the Lido area are both around 3 km away.
Access to the motorway is very close, which is perfect for access to explore the island and walks.

Madeira

Cleaning
The property is prepared for your arrival. For stays of longer than 7 nights, a change of linen and towels, and light mid-stay cleaning of bathrooms is provided on a day and time to be advised at check-in.
All linen and towels are provided.
For health reasons, linen for a baby cot is not provided and you should bring your own.
Guests need to vacate the villa during a mid-stay clean and change of linen.

The rental value varies with the number of people occupying the property, so please ensure you enter the correct dates, number of adults, children and infants. Please note that supplements apply should additional people join you for any length of time.
To secure your reservation we require a 30% deposit, or the full amount if you are arriving within 8 weeks. The balance is due 8 weeks prior to arrival.

The payment of a Tourist Tax has been implemented for all arriving visitors on or after 01 October 2024 across all of Madeira and Porto Santo by the local Municipalities.
This applies to all visitors to Madeira aged 13 or over, and costs 2€ per person per day up to a maximum of 14€ per person.
Your accommodation is responsible for collecting these amounts and paying them on your behalf to the applicable municipality.

If you have a car and are driving to your villa or apartment, please follow these instructions. Using GPS will take you via old and less easy roads and unusual locations:
Leaving the airport take the dual carriageway in the direction of Funchal (road known as the Via Rápida).
Leave the Via Rápida at exit number 9 to Camo do Pilar/P. de Barcelos

 At the end of the slip road, turn left down the hill.
After 100m you will come to a crossroad, turn right.
The road dips and before it bears to the left you will see a small road on your right (200m), turn into that road, Rampa Dr. Barreto.

A few metres ahead take the turning on your left through an entrance with stone posts

Ahead of you is a palm tree island in the middle of the road. Go around on the right and

ahead (on the right at an angle) you will see the iron gates to Casa Petronella, identified as
