Hi Guys My wife and I booked a 3 week's all inclusive holiday with jet 2 to Fuerteventura and we stayed at the Sol Jandia Mar apartments. No problems with check or flight(we love jet 2) we always book private transfers because we got sick of waiting for other people and its quite a journey to the south of the island. We were unhappy with the vehicle jet 2 give us for the transfer,a very old smelly minibus which nearly killed us with fumes,,we told rep at hotel much better vehicle on return journey. Anyway when we arrived at reception we were booked in by a very nice guy called Mortiz he explained very well. We had requested a top floor room which we got No A309 they are quite basic rooms but clean and tidy, nice beds and pillows, good balcony, nice bathroom bath/shower shower gell/hand gell. It was a quiet room, but it was out of the main holiday season. The food overhall was quiet good, but I wish they would do boiled potato's or mass, it was chips, chips, and more chips,,also the meal was under cooked everytime. But you always had a very good choice of food,we found lunch time food much better than the evening meal (no dress code here) One big problem we found in the restaurant was children were allowed to run around going crazy they should have sign's up informing the parents to control their children or be asked to leave the restaurant.. The bar was okay a bit understaffed at times but great staff,,nice gins and vodka,,not a beer drinker, but just help your self to beer pump. Danny the DJ and the young girl(can't remember her name) were great at their jobs,,,they work really hard from early morning right through till early hours,,they were well worth their wages. Nice pool area and bar but we headed for the beach every day, such great weather we were very lucky,,I was told one of the pools is heated,,,we sat around chatting to people at the pool bar very relaxing,,nice people,,you can also get snacks at pool bar. Yes I would say we had a great stay and lovely holiday and would return next winter. Thanks the Geordies
Short distance to the beach and shopping center, great room service, reasonable price. Within walking distance to the local facilities and markets in Morro Jable where you can explore daily life of local people.
Very nice place with bright rooms. Relaxing, no noise. Very close to the beach and restaurants and shopping center / shops. Very close to several supermarkets. Ideal for startingpoint for walking tours to city-center, harbor and lighthouse (faro).
I have read several of the previous reviews and just about everything has been said. But my opinion is the location is good, the food is good, our room was good, the staff were helpful (especially Dani and Wlad in the entertainments team), the pools are good etc etc. So basically the only thing I can add is would I return to this hotel? Yes 100% I would. In fact I plan to do so in the near future.
I recently returned from a 10 night stay here & I had the best time. The food tasted amazing and the quantity was great however it does get a bit repetitive but as you can imagine it is hard trying to cater for everyone. The staff work so hard & are all lovely. I did have an unpleasant experience with the man on reception when I was checking out, he had a horrible attitude and was rude for no reason quite frankly (I didn't get his name but I think it is possibly the person that replies to reviews so I hope you see this!) I stayed in Jan and the day I arrived it was very hot & packed by the pool however there were a few days when it rained a little & the sun was hiding behind the clouds however you could see it wanted to come out lol. My overall rating was 'very good' & not 'excellent' as there are a few things that need updating however I understand the hotel will be undergoing a refurbishment between April and September so hopefully they are improved. I had a lovely room with a pool & sea view I felt it was the perfect room however the decor definitely needs upgrading as it is very old fashioned. The bar (bier keller) is very boring the music is extremely dated as well as the repetitive songs they play everyday at the pool bar & I feel the entertainment is lacking however this can easily be fixed. When I pay for all inclusive I expect decent alcohol however all the drinks seemed to be watered down and I ended up going to the supermarket and buying my own drinks to have in the room which ultimately worked out better. I didn't eat by the pool bar much as I would go to the restaurant every day for lunch instead however on my last day I did sit and eat & drink at pool bar and the food was very impressive. All the food was delicious, oh and I only went for breakfast twice as I did have late nights & the breakfast choice is amazing they literally have everything from antipasti to cereal, pastries, cooked food etc & I cannot fault the chefs. Overall I loved the holiday I will be back & I look forward to seeing the new & improved Sol Jandia Mar!
Great place . Great food ,great staff.but beware the noise from catering/gardening projects happening in the middle of the night. Sleep ruined many nights. We are talking anytime between 4am-7am. Totally unnecessary.
Just back from 10 days AI over New Year with my wife and teenage son. Excellent hotel with good facilities. Our room was dated but big with a large terrace that got sun all day. The pool area is excellent with plenty beds assuming you were there by about 10am. Food is plentiful faith a varied choice of meats and fish with a good pool bar restaurant serving fresh cooked as well as salads and snacks. The lady who cooks at the pool bar is a real gem. Drinks at both bars are huge measures with decent brands and all wine is bottled out with the restaurant. A few extra plate clearest at dinner time wouldn't go amiss though. There is entertainment every night albeit karaoke a couple of nights and the band at Hogmannay were superb with the AI extended from the usual 11pm to 2am. Ample parking nearby and a truly stunning beach is 2mins walk away. Resort itself is lovely with loads of shops and bars. All in an excellent hotel in a very nice resort, big recommendation.
We returned 23 of November.Food was tasty a lot of kind of fish, meats and sweet cakes, vegetables. We stayed with all inclusive, but around hotel are restaurants and supermarkets. We had luck, our apartment was after reconstruction,2 rooms, in every room TV,big bathroom, good beds and terase for relaxing. We were in garden, calm place in night. I like staff, polite and the most woman in receptionist. If we will travel there again, we will stay here.We rented car, visited beaches and beach, which starts in Morro Jable is maybe the best on east coast and continues 20 km,but I didn't see every beach.
My wife and I have just returned from this hotel. It is in a good location for the town and beaches, the staff are very friendly and helpful. The room are clean and comfortable and a good size - we had a bedroom bathroom and lounge area with 2 settee/sigle beds. The food was really good lots of choice.
We had a really relaxing week in this lovely hotel. Check in was friendly and efficient. We were allocated a room with a pool and Sea view and we were delighted. The room had a large bedroom with more than adequate storage,an excellent bathroom with bath which we like and a small corridor kitchen leading to a comfortable sitting area. The free WiFi worked really well and the TV had a few English channels. All in all the accommodation was ideal and the view of the pool and beach from our large, private balcony was super. There was a reasonable charge to rent a room safe and a small refundable deposit for the TV remote control. We were on an all inclusive basis and thoroughly enjoyed breakfast and dinner. We only had a light snack at lunchtime. The food was well cooked with lots of variety. Like many hotels however there were always queues at the morning toaster and coffee/tea machines. Also the cooking of eggs at breakfast could have been more efficient. These are very minor niggles and generally speaking we had no complaints. The pool area was very clean and well managed. No early booking of sunbeds which can be so annoying. We really enjoyed the Pilates and Aqua gym each day in the heated pool. The larger pool, although slightly cooler, was excellent for swimming. The Animation Team, especially the two males (one Spanish and one Italian) were very personable and good humoured. The hotel provides easy access to to the town and beautiful beach. Absolutely perfect. There was also a good evening entertainment programme although we didn’t go often as it was a little late in the evening and our day started early. We had a really relaxing holiday and would definitely return.
