We had a fun family holiday here. The location is great, short walk to shops /bars/restaurants and a stunning beach. The apartment was basic and a bit dated, but it was clean and had what we needed. The all inclusive isn’t the best I’ve been to, the food was ok, although I thought the choices for children were very poor. The staff were friendly and helpful. Great free WiFi. I’d stay here again but not all inclusive as there are other nicer places to eat nearby.
We had a relaxing holiday, the rooms were clean, the staff although busy very friendly and polite. The buffet was ok probably better if you like fish as there was a fab selection. Just on the outskirt of jandia so a lovely walk into the bars or to the beach.
I thought this was pretty good value for money for an all inclusive holiday. Rooms are pretty basic and although look in need of a revamp were fine for what we needed. Variety of food and drinks were very good. Admittedly we ate out in the evenings, breakfast and lunch were ok. We ate mainly at the pool bar but the selection was ok. Could have done with a kettle in the room but we just boiled water in a saucepan, I used to pop down and get crossiants and tea bags to take back to the room. In readiness for the 9am rush to get a sunbed, as always not enough sunbeds for the no of people. I only ventured in to the pool once it was like an ice bath, although I understand the kids pool was heated.
Been to this hotel for the last four years and although we are getting a bit old now, I spent my 78th birthday this year, we find it ok to get around the hotel complex and again we had a good time. Staff staff are friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our lunch by the poolside every day. Enjoyed most of the entertainment and the times of the shows suited us, generally finishing just after 10. We have put up with the fact that your armbands are cut off at 12 on the final day but we certainly don't agree with this policy. Thanks for a great holiday and the excellent weather.
We went for 10 nights and enjoyed our stay. The staff are very friendly apart from one guy behind the pool bar who did not speak any English and only smiled and joked with the Germans...which there was alot...that was not a problem as we met quite a few who we had conversations and a laugh with! Hats off to Wlad and Dani who tried there best to get people to join in the games and compertitions..we had great fun with them...well done you too 👍 The rooms are looking very tired and run down, but they are kept clean. The beds where soooo uncomfortable, by the second night our backs where killing us, so we went to reception the next morning and they said they would replace the mattresses which they did...much better sleep afterwards, so well done reception staff 👍 The food was good, just abit strange sometimes....the beans where kept completely separate from the eggs and bacon..next to brussel sprouts instead for breakfast! Lol. Most nights we found something to eat but it did get abit repeatative. We ate out for my birthday, we had a lovely meal in a fish restaurant by the sea front. There did not seem much nightlife around, so if you want to party try a different resort. Also it takes about 2 hours from the Airport if you use the transfer buses, we decided to hire a car for the 10 days which only cost £130.00 and the journey took us an hour..so well worth it as we did alot of driving around. We hired a quad out on my birthday and went up into the mountains which was great fun!! All in all we had a lovely chilled out 10 days, good staff, good food, good drink...measures are very generous and you can have smirnoff vodka and gordons gin included...cocktails not so good as its out of one of those ready made up machines...beer was good and so was the cava...not that we drank alot!! Lol..good weather, lovely Island...thankyou Sol Jandia Mar for a lovely holiday 🌞 Tina and Aidy
If you don't mind music blaring all day then go for it. It felt like we were on holiday in a Butlins holiday camp. The food was varied but was sick of it after day three. The hotel was tired. The staff tried their best to keep us entertained, although I didn't want/need entertaining
We went here the last week in February 2018, It was the second time we have been to this hotel. We booked a sea view to get a high floor and afternoon sun , the downside to that is we had to go up 52 steps to get there. not a problem for us but something to bear in mind if you are not good on your feet. The apartment was very spacious ,lounge, small kitchen area ,bathroom and separate bedroom, the rooms were clean and comfortable and cleaned most days. The reception staff were friendly and helpful . The food was not the best we've had at Sol hotels. The meats were quite chewy and the choices became a little monotonous . We didn't go to the pool ,we prefer the beach so I can't comment about the sunbeds. Some people have said they cater mainly for Germans, we didn't find that to be the case and everyone spoke English There were quite a few British as well as people from Holland ,Sweden,Austria and other countries , and of course Spain, Its part of going on foreign holidays, if you want all English go to Blackpool or Brighton. We saw some of the evening entertainment which was quite good ,and of course the songs were in English. The hotel is just across the road from the beach and is handy for shops and bars and the delightful waterfront at Morro Jable with its bars and restaurants is a 10 minute walk along the sea front. The beach is long and wide with sunbeds but there's plenty of space if you just want to throw your towel down. It does get windy at times and the sea can be quite choppy. We were surprised how warm the weather was for Februrary ,we were on the beach every day.
Upon checking it I was asked to pay a deposit for the TV remote control (10 Euro deposit), if I wanted a beach towel (10 Euros each deposit + 3 Euros each non-refundable) and if I wanted to use the safe (10 Euros deposit + 3 Euros per day). I found this to be a little disheartening as a first impression and very off-putting! The room was slightly dated but very clean. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. The pool area had a lifeguard on duty and was kept clean. The gardens and communal areas were always clean and very looked after. The hotel is located on a slight hill which is in a very good location. Just outside the hotel is a market which is there twice a week. Next door to the hotel is a very reasonably priced super market with friendly and helpful staff. The beach is approximately 5 minutes walk away and mostly on the flat. Other shops and restaurants are within a 5 minute walk. We found this to be a great location overall. The food and drinks were of good standard and with plenty of choices. The entertainment there was very good with something on most evenings and each day. I big thank you to Vlad and Dani who were amazing and ensured we had a wonderful holiday! I would recommend this hotel and I look forward to visiting again soon.
Sol Jandia which in my opinion is a poor 3stars .First the positives. The grounds and buildings are clean and the apartment was cleaned with not fresh bedding . The only members of staff with a friendly smile each day were the cleaning staff. We stayed at the Jandia Mar for 6 days so feel we are well qualified to assess this hotel. The apartments are all up ramps and if you happen to get a second or third floor apartment while you may get a view you have to climb 45 concrete steps up a spiral staircase. Our first allocated apartment was first floor. I complained to reception as I couldn't breath with a bad smell and we were moved the next day. The next apartment overlooked the garden, but at least it got sun. Everything in our apartment was very old( Old bedding and outfits). it was not feeling good. It needs to restructure everything. In order to get control of the TV, you need to give them 10 Euros deposit 😕. We could not find a sunbed for sunbathing any day, they all booked very early in the morning. For hours, nobody will come to the sun. They were only booked by towels, so that they could come and sink as they wished😡. My main complain it was the quality of the food and bad smell every midnight att our room like a drain 😷. Food was plenty of choice but nothing looked or tasted fresh , unless you were quick to spot food being replenished. The dining room was so noisy and busy with people pushing in front that it just reminded me of a canteen, certainly not a pleasant dining experience. Among the breakfast choices were chips, boiled veg and lots of sugar coated cookies etc but better than lunch or dinner . All inclusive was certainly a waste of money for us as we hardly ate or drank at the hotel. If you want quality rather than quantity then this hotel is not for you. The entertainment at night catered mostly for German guests and few people, either staff or other guests spoke English to us. We were fortunate that the weather was good otherwise there is nothing to do. We enjoyed the beaches and walking along the promenade to the old town for meals and drinks. This lovely place in this area actually made our holiday. Transfer from the airport is nearly two hours and in my opinion is not worth the journey. Very disappointed with this hotel. It was not for us and we did not feel welcome.
Conveniently located in Morro Jable, close to the shops and excellent beach and not too far from the old town. Morro Jable is pleasant, quiet place, very popular with German visitors due to it's association with Willy Brandt. We travelled with Jet2holidays and stayed on All inclusive basis, all very satisfactory. Our room was a "pool view room" on the first floor with balcony (D221) which we found very convenient. Make sure you do not close the balcony door fully behind you when on the balcony as you will not be able to get back inside the room! Room also had a distant sea view. In rooms at this level (and on the ground level) you do not need to climb any stairs. Rooms on the ground level have terraces leading directly to the pool area. There are some rooms with steep and narrow staircases so bear that in mind when booking. Room was specious with fully equipped kitchenette, bedroom and sitting room with TV and free WiFi, all kept very clean. There is no heating which mostly is not a problem but as it was quite cold and not often sunny in January it would have helped to have some means of warming up the place. Pool area is pleasant with two pools, smaller one heated in winter, and the bar. We did not have the best weather in January and so there was no shortage of sunbeds as there could be at better times. It is pleasant to walk along the coast in either direction. We also made a rumble to Pico de la Zarza, which is the highest peak on the island. It was quite challenging as we did not have the best weather. You should allow 4 hours up and 3 hours down. Local Tourist office will give you directions.
