This Hotel was great for a weeks R and R food was excellent service great and room very spacious, just 15 euros and ten minutes from airport its in a great location with a lovely beach and harbour. Just 5 mins walk to shops and restaurants in town for a change of scenery.
There is a partial sea view. The beds were comfortable. Overall the hotel and all inclusive option fell short of our expectations. The food was awful. The fish was not fresh. The wine was equally as bad. I few sips was more than enough. The two bedroom villa was shabby dirty and dated. Do not be fooled by the all inclusive option it is a rip off. The bar at the harbour with the nice views is only all inclusive after 6 pm. The all inclusive option is self service behind the bar at the pool. There was no organised activities for the children that I was made aware of during the day over the Christmas holidays. I had one decent meal when I was there and that was pizza at the shopping centre and I don't normally eat pizza but anything would be better than the food in the hotel. I did not look forward to meal times at all. The heated pool was 25oC and very dirty. The safe was 20 euro and 6 euro per day I think. You also have to pay for beach towels. There is also a charge for the train that goes from the hotel to the shopping area. There was a charge for mini golf and tennis. approx 20 euro for a family . I can't remember the exact price. If you are going all inclusive don't forget your wallet!
We’re not long back from a weeks break here. I had read a few bad reviews about cockroaches before we had left, but I needn’t have worried. We seen a few out and about, but never any in our rooms. The resort itself is massive. Our bungalow was very nice and cleaned daily. All staff were very friendly, and the animation team were superb during the day by the pool and in the evenings in the theatre. I would highly recommend this resort to anyone.
This was our first all inclusive holiday and indeed our first trip to Furteventura. It was, without doubt, the most relaxing and stress-free holiday with everything provided without having to think about it. Service was excellent and we loved the high quality and variety of food. Facilities were amazing, never stuck for something to do and all close at hand. No money spared on the upkeep of the entire resort, cleanliness was 100%. Basically could not fault this and would definitely recommend, we would return in a heart-beat.
This was our 4 th visit to this hotel. We love caleta and decided to join my barcello to increase our guest experience. We are on intense level and are supposed to benefit from early check in. We checked in online prior to our visit and emailed our arrival time as requested. We are currently still sat in reception 4 hours later, still waiting to be given our room!!! On speaking with guest relations I have been told the information is wrong and that check in is 3 pm and not noon as quoted everywhere on our information. No apology, no nothing. If this is how the barcello rewards its guests loyalty then it is not acceptable. We already have flights booked In September but will not be coming back here. One day of holiday wasted If the general manager would like to see me whilst we are here we will either still be sat in reception waiting or in room 2048 hopefully !!!
Stayed for 1 week over new year with my family, bungalow was clean but for the price paid for a superior bungalow it was not worth it. Food not bad just repetitive, although on Hogmanay it was jazzed up and was a lovely selection of good food. Pools are not heated and so my 2 young children did not enjoy going in them. Not much to do in the area overall.
We were originally booked into another "resort" but because it was so bad left after 2 days. We would have left 5 minutes after arrival but as it was New Year's Eve a lot of the hotels were full up or very expensive. On an escape from first place we went for a walk and came across the Barcelo Castillo Beach Resort and managed to get an apartment from the 1st to 5th January. The reception staff were very friendly and helpful both in checking in and out. We were given apartment 1039 just a minutes walk from reception. This place was very clean and just fine for what we wanted. The beds and pillows were very comfortable so got good nights sleep. The lounge was nice and big with a 32" TV which had 4 or 5 British channels. The sette and single chair were not very comfortable and covered in vinyl as opposed to cloth but I suppose it would be easier to keep clean. Bathroom was fine AA was the shower but maybe could have down with a wider shower screen as K managed to splash water on the floor surface outside the shower which became slippy. Probably just me as I do thrash about when showering. The kitchen was very small with a microwave oven, kettle, toaster and little hob for 2 pans. If self catering maybe an oven would be beneficial as we bought a pizza and ended up cooking in 1/4,s in the frying pan! It tasted good. Outside on the patio was a table with 4 seats and also 2 sun loungers. We only had bed and breakfast at Barcelo. The walk to the restaurant was about 3 minutes from the room, fine in the sun but would get rather wet if it rained. The restaurant was big and clean and there was plenty of choice of breakfasts available and food was good. As this was winter the resort was quiet which suited us fine. The town centre is just 2-3 minutes walk away as is the beach. We would certainly recommend this resort and would go back.
Expected more. Stated luxury bungalow, was upstairs, therefore apartment with little outdoor space where has bungalows had loungers and lots of outdoor space. We just had a balcony what fitted a table and few chairs
We booked this hotel at the last minute (Travel Republic) we only went for a short break of 3 nights. The room was good , we stayed in a bungalow, the beds (twin) were very comfortable and we slept well. The room decor was modern, and in reasonable condition with some wear and tear. We stayed half board, the food was OK , it was an all inclusive buffet set-up, the quality and variety was above average. There is no bar at the hotel itself you have to go to the Harbourn (Port) that is part of Barcelo resort. We had lunch at the sports bar a couple of times the food was good and the Sangria even better! The Mini Golf was also good if in need of a bit of refurbishment.
Excellent location, quality of food and entertainment first class. The closeness to golf courses was good but the car hire was expensive, taxi drivers were erratic but the area was most enjoyable with lots to do.
