Lovely hotel, location and staff. Only negatives were the roadworks which which meant navigating a buggy near on impossible and the baby pool could have been kept cleaner particularly due to the little stones and residue build up round the sides making it very slippy to walk on (accident waiting to happen). Other than that we had a fab holiday.
Very good for gluten free stayed all inclusive. Close to airport. Pool area very clean . Lovely views of the sea. Close to other bars. Good pool side bars. All ways plenty of sun bed round pool. Very secure .
Just back from a 1 week stay in Barcello Beach Resort, it was absolutely amazing, this is a hotel that knows how to give guests a beach resort experience at its best. On arrival we were checked in by a lovely lady who really took time to go through all the hotels facilities and showed us where everything was on the map of the resort. Great welcome and this level of service continued throughout our stay from all staff. I had emailed a week before to request a bungalow near the beach as my son prefers swimming in the sea than the pool and I was delighted they had allocated a bungalow right beside the beach but also a pool just outside the poor. Everything about the location of the bungalow was perfect. Inside, the bungalow was really spacious, the bathroom was great with a huge shower and plenty of storage space for all the bits and bobs. It was spotlessly clean throughout and had extra pillows and blankets provided just in case. As for the pool area, wow, it was amazing. There is a really laid back chilled out atmosphere by the main pool. It was very easy to sit back relaxed and have a glass of prossecco and get into total holiday mode! There was an animation team by the pool most of the day to provide some entertainment and they played some great music poolside all day. My son is a teenager so we didn't use the kids club etc but from what I saw they were fantastic with the younger kids. They did a kids disco every night at 8.30pm and then a show from 9.30 which was great for older kids. The shows were great and very professionally put together. Breakfast was fantastic, great variety on the buffet, I honestly could not think of anything else you ask for on the buffet. Eggs fried, scrambled, Spanish omelette, omelettes made to order, a chef permanently making pancakes with nutella and honey beside them. There was a constant line of kids waiting for their pancakes! They also had a full salad bar, cold meats and even some sweet treats for after breakfast which I availed of every day! The restaurant manager was really friendly and I never saw anyone waiting on a table, it was very well managed. This is a beautiful resort, the staff clearly love their jobs as they are always so friendly and the facilities are amazing. I honestly could not fault anything, best holiday ever. Barello clearly know how to do beach resorts and I will definitely be back again.
Arrived at 2pm told room not ready until 3pm ok great start. Went for a drink and mood improved the pool big one looked the nuts . Had a drink let to get room...... five minute walk to bungalow went in and wow lovely and has patio brill. Got better pool very close with bar and right next to beach !!! Lucky or what well happy .... only day one but so far good just right for us a nan and grandad with 16 yo daughter and our granddaughter aged 1yo. Grub at bar overlooking beach super and excellent view ... off to harbour tonight update post during week. Road works nothing hotel can do so either let it spoil ya stay or get on with it ..... Waiters a bit miserable only negative ... score 4 room not ready why been booked for over 6 months ... reception ok polite .... love it here gonna be a cracking 2weeks !!! Neil ...
Fantastic hotel, would go again. Great food, apartments and friendly staff. Thumbs up from us. We went all inclusive and it was really excellent. Close to the beach and town. Ideal for couples or families. The day and nighttime entertainment was great fun. Everything all went quiet after midnight which suited us. Super place to go!
Lovely and clean Bungalows lovely Look out for cockroaches Food average ish Tap/filtered Water wasn't free with half board 😡 Which I think is ridiculous Staff ok not brilliant Day time entertainment in the day better than the night ... resort fairly quiet Couple of bars to go for a drink .... wouldn't return to the same resort until after age 35 ! For me aged 26 it was limited for night life ! Clean everywhere and modern ! The major roadworks ruined the whole look of the hotel to be honest and building noise every day ! Also the builders were wolf whistling at me in front of my dad and big brother which I thought was ballsy but off putting when I had to think what to wear down to the beach / pool !
On firsts impression , roadworks outside and had to walk over it to get to reception, We came here as a family of 6 adults ,1 child and 1 toddler, When we went to our bungalow I notice we didn't have a bath just a shower , we did have a travel cot , Considering we had a toddler the resort would allocate a bungalow to suit so we asked to move and was told that we had to come back in the morning so that could be sorted for us. Which they did . We were on all inclusive holiday which means at this resort is you can only eat at the the buffet restaurant breakfast ,lunch and dinner , other bars and restaurants would be 20% off , Drinks was average and Only on selected time slots. Very understaffed . No water or coffee/tea in your bungalow like every hotel, If you want bottles of water you have to walk to the theatre bar and get it from 6pm-11pm , otherwise it charged , BEWARE THE WAITERS ALSO LIE and say they've run out which isn't the case You have to pay for the safe in your room and beach towels, Cleaners just about make the bed , level of cleanness is awful and never have know they been unless the beds are made. Rooms are shabby and need a good clean and updated , stains on walls , tiles and ceiling . The staff seen in happy and over worked , Gym is at a charge . It seems nothing it connected to the hotel . Even though you see the same staff working in different venues with the same uniform However the location great , walking distance to town . I wouldn't come back to this hotel but would return to the area, which is great for family
The Barcelo Castillo is without a doubt the standout hotel in Caleta and stands out when walking up and down the coastline/harbour. We stayed for 14 nights and explored other areas and found the Castillo to be the place to be. A special mention has to go to the Animation team, who work tirelessly throughout the day to provide entertainment/coordinate activities for holidaymakers. The schedule is easy to follow and can be found on a touchscreen outside the restaurant. Activities include, beach/water volleyball, water basketball, paddle-board pilates, water spin class, yoga, spanish dancing lessons and my favourite: A Sangria party! The team also star in the evening shows and the dancing is very high quality - special mention goes to Lima and Danny who were magnificent. Keep an eye out for Willy, who is crazy! The food in the restaurant changed each day but there was always a standard set of food and we never struggled to find things we liked. The room was spacious and the aircon was a god-send! Our balcony area was more than adequate. The only negative I have is the price of food/drink in the bars/restaurants on the resort. It is extortionate! If you're half-board then please ensure you take enough money as a rum & coke can cost you 8 Euros. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and have already agreed to come back another year with friends and hopefully re-connect with the animation team who we will miss!
Recently returned after a weeks stay with my girlfriend, self-catering. The hotel itself is very clean, rooms are very big and perfect for families, probably a little too big for two people (but not complaining). Location: Perfect location, walking distance to most of the restaurants. Also offers a shuttle bus to the Oasis park from the other Barcelo down the road (5-10mins walk). Entertainment: The entertainment team make the hotel worth booking. 10 out of 10, with loads of stuff to do. Willy is great ! Downside: You have to pay extra for the safe within the room 3 Euros per day with a 7 euro deposit. Was a little disappointed about this as we were told it would be included and then had to wait an hour before the handy man came along and told me the reason for it not working is because I didn't have a key - this could have been avoided if front desk had instantly flagged the fact I didn't have a key for the safe. Overall fantastic stay at a very good hotel.
Just returned from Barcelo Castillo beach resort. Enjoyed it from start to finish. Stayed self catering in superior bungalow, however this was on the first floor. Apartment/ bungalow was quite large with 2 balconies, one off the lounge the other off the bedroom. Maid service every day & fresh towels. A choice of pools & not difficult to find a subbed regardless of what time you arrive at the pool. Plenty of activities going on daily around the pool which you can join in if you are feeling energetic but you are not made to feel like you must join in at all. Being directly on the beach is great as we would pop down for a swim in the sea & then back to the pool area. Although we were self catering there are various different boards you can choose from all inclusive seemed to be popular. We like to eat out & try different restaurants which is why we chose this option. Supermarket was just across the road as was bars & restaurants so very convenient if you were to choose self catering, b&b. Would definitely recommend this complex & would return without any hesitation.
