I am a regular visitor to Madrid and usually stay at the Hilton but it was full during this stay so I opted for this hotel. I was upgraded to an executive room on the t floor which was very nice, newly refurbished, well equipped and very comfortable. There is not much in the immediate vicinity and the onsite bar/restaurant is rather soulless but the service was good. The breakfast was adequate but not memorable however as a business hotel it did the job. The main downside was the wifi speed which was too slow and will be a factor in not choosing this hotel again.
Quick overnight stopover for a business trip and i will use it again for anotjer similar trip. Clean hotel, friendly staff but it is on a business estate so very quiet. Convenience for me made up for that though
Needs a little TLC. Curtains were dry-rotted -- so not possible to close them. Bathroom sink drained very slowly. Door stop for bathroom door embedded in the floor exactly where you were most likely to step as you exited the shower (ouch). Fancy shower but only a partial shower door, so the floor was not in good shape. I felt like I was sharing a bathroom with my neighbor. Since I could hear everything going on in his, it sounded like he was in mine. BTW, who thinks it's a good idea to have an all glass bathroom: including the walls and sink? Supposedly there was a restaurant, but it wasn't open the night we were there. There were a few modest restaurants within walking distance, but most were closed at 8 p.m. at night (??) Our departure day was on a holiday, so breakfast did not start until 7:30. Not convenient when you need to be out of the hotel before 8 in order to catch a plane. There were no other options nearby because, as mentioned in other reviews, this hotel is located in the middle of office buildings. The bed was comfortable, nice sheets, two kinds of pillows on the bed, and the room was clean. The only reason to stay at this hotel is if you've had enough of Madrid and want to get close to the airport. You might want to pack in some food however!
The hotel location is not the best one for tourists since there is nothing close to see in the area. What is good is that besides the area the hotel is walking distance from the metro station that you can take to go to Madrid tourist area. Also, is renting a car you can move easily around Spain. The hotel was very clean and the staff personnel were very helpful and friendly.
The Holiday Inn Las Tablas is more a Business-Hotel, as it is located in a typical outside area with lots of office buildungs around. The hotel is modern and offers relatively big rooms with big bath rooms. The breakfast is standard. Friendly personal. Free WLAN and shuttle service to airport.
I have stayed here many times and it's a good average hotel, but only average because it lets itself down. The food is good both breakfast and dinner are well prepared. The rooms are nice, good working spaces and good bathrooms. But they let themselves down on the basics. The internet connection is terrible, barely works (if at all) complained about it many times but it's never improved. Silly things like the hotel phone in the room has quick dials for reception, front desk etc but they aren't programmed and there is no info on what number to call - so if you have an issue you have to call housekeeping or go back downstairs. If they can fix these issues the rating would increase but especially for a primarily business hotel to not fix the internet connection speed after a year or more does not give me confidence.
I use this hotel only because of its location. If you are visiting Madrid as a tourist this is not for you. Benefits Usually low rates. Staff are polite and helpful Ihg points It was refitted a couple of years ago big improvement compared to what it used to be like. Negatives Distance from city Very few local restaurants or bars Bar and restaurant in hotel is soul less. Beds are very hard. Wooden floors look nice but you can hear people walking around in other rooms.
So the only reason for awarding it 2 out of 5 is purely down to the breakfast Breakfast is pretty important to me and compared to other holiday inns I have stayed in the UK I was immensely disappointed. Selection was not great and whilst I understand that each country may have its own different twist on breakfast the flexibility to make changes was in there I didn't see any beams and you have to make your own tea tea wasn't served and only served in very small cups which meant that I had to go out repeatedly for tea especially as their tea lover who enjoys tea in a big pot that wasn't available for cups are very small I had to make for trips which for breakfast sounds ridiculous On the positive side the service and the room condition were very good . Clean and comfortable The hotel needs to make improvements in the breakfast area in my humble opinion
The hotel is much improved since it was taken over by Holiday Inn after being a HiTec hotel however is still quite poor. Thankfully; gone are the rock hard mattresses and crazy steam showers. The shower (while much improved from the previous ones) lacks water pressure and this morning the pressure pulsed giving the impression a small water pump was powering it. More like showering in a caravan than a hotel. The most annoying thing in the hotel is the lack of an iron in the room. You have to go and collect one from reception and return it. There are clearly not enough and this morning I was lucky to get the last iron but all the ironing boards were gone. Seems like a very basic issue that should be correct. The rooms have laminate wood floors and so it's quite noisy sometimes. The air con is ok but quite weak meaning you need a second key card to leave in the slot so it can run all day to cool the room down. I find the reception staff a little abrupt. Not rude but not welcoming either. So would I stay here again ? The answer is yes but only because it's cheap and convenient for me. If I was here for more than a couple of nights I would find somewhere else.
Following same line as other Holiday Inn hotels, offers good price and comfort in a quiet area. There are some restaurants that are close, but it's not a central location. Around 30 minutes far from the center by tube. Lots of parking outisde, no need to pay 15 euros for parking.
