Great spot!

We loved our stay- great house and great location. Plenty of room for our family. Very close to beach access, especially with the included golf cart. Would definitely rebook- thanks for having us!

Such A Special Place!

We got engaged here and celebrated it with family and friends! The stay was absolutely perfect and clean! James was very responsive, answered all of my questions, and was very patient throughout the whole process. We will be back!

Spent an enjoyable week at Fripp, and the entire process exceeded expectations. The property owners were welcoming and very accommodating.

Close to Beach!

We stayed for two weeks. The home was very clean and any small issues we had were addressed immediately. Jennifer, the property manager, was friendly and quick to reply with any questions we had. We loved having the golf cart, and even so, the home was still just a short walk to the beach and to the Fripp Island Beach Club. The kitchen was well stocked and having a washer and dryer was a bonus, since our stay was for two weeks.

Lovely getaway, great location

My family and I stayed at the house for one week in august of 2023. We had a lovely week and really enjoyed its proximity to the beach. We cooked in every night because the kitchen was so well stocked! Seating is plentiful, the beds are comfortable, and the interior decorating is really nice. The on-island contact Jennifer was responsive and easy to text with any time we needed something. I hope the hosts will consider revamping the outdoor amenities a tad (including the grill and bikes). Overall, an excellent stay we’d love to come back and stay again!

Clean and close to beach.

Clean, close to beach. Nice 6 seater gas golf cart. Outdoor shower was nice to have. Burner for cooking low country boil nice surprise. Downstairs front bed too small for two adults and mattress soft and a little worn. Faces busy road. Different dining table than pictured. Only seats four, but large picnic table is on front porch. Owner nice to work with. Overall good experience!

Cute home with easy beach access

The house is adorable. The beach access is wonderfully close (right down the street). Communication with the owner is fabulous! The upstairs bedroom is amazing but having the spiral staircase to get up there limits elderly guests unfortunately. There were bikes there but unfortunately they looked a lit rough being let outside. Would recommend storing them in a covered area. Our trip was amazing on the island. Loved all the deer that roam around. The beach is so beautiful and loved our morning walks. Having the golf cart included was a HUGE bonus! Loved driving around the island! The house is located across from the fire station. It didn't bother us that much as we never heard a truck go out. We enjoyed our stay very much as the owner has made the home very comfortable and beachy cozy.

We have used Vrbo many times. If we have a problem with the property it was dealt with asap. However 700 winter trout on Fripp island was our first disaster. I will list some of the issues. Window seals were broken causing steam inside the downstairs windows, rotten baseboard in hall way, bicycles were unusable, golf cart was filthy, front portch was dirty and unusable, cleaning was below expectation. We were very disappointed in property manager and owner. We bumped our head on the spiral staircase, it is in a bad location. The outside was unremarkable as the neighbors had a nice manicured lawn, however, this lawn was riddled with limbs and other debris, the gravel driveway needs repair. In addition the property manager at first told us she was not the manager, then it turned out she was the manager. She offered to find us another place, but we did not want to move. We took pictures to substantiate our findings. The owner said he had great reviews before us. If so it was in much better shape. The pictures on Vrbo and reality were far apart We asked for a refund but it fell on deaf ears. We enjoyed Fripp island but will have to find a nicer stay.

Excellent Vacation Rental

We had a great time...nice house in an awesome location. Beach easy to access from house and was close to being private. Golf cart for 6 people was a plus. Comfortable on the inside - good furnishings. Would come back. Owner extremely helpful with any and all concerns.

Relaxing at the Pogue Shack

This property was an excellent location for a relaxing week that allowed my friends and I to hangout at the beach very frequently, in addition to other nearby recreational activities. The owner is extremely responsive and helpful in answering any questions or solving any issues, likely the most out of any place I have stayed. The only “downside” is that there isn’t a ton of options for food on the island, however the well equipped kitchen allowed for the cooking of many meals, plus, Beaufort has good options and isn’t too far. Overall my friends and I had a wonderful experience.

Family friendly get away

Nice home base for your Fripp Island visit. The beach is only a short walk away and in a good general location. The home is well equipped to keep your day going smoothly, games for kids, laundry in the hallway closet, and the available 6 seater golf cart was a favorite. Don’t feed the deer but the kitties would love you if they had a tid-bit!

Spring Break

We usually travel to Fripp later in the year so this trip was rainy and cooler for us but we still had a great time and love the island! The house and Clay were great. A little noisy at times being on the main road but it's still a great house and location. Tried to use the grill and both tanks were out of propane but the house had an air fryer so we made do with that: )

Perfect Getaway

Great stay!!

We had a wonderful stay at the POGUE SHACK! Clay could not have been any more helpful and was prompt in responding to ALL my questions!! The beach is beautiful and a short golf cart ride away ! Our grandchildren loved all the deer that appeared in our yard every day! Actually they are everywhere!! The house was perfect for us!

Gem on Fripp

We had a wonderful week at the Pogue Shack. Clay was so responsive to any questions or issues it really made for a wonderful stay. The house is close to the beach and we love the golf cart, bikes and all the extra water toys. The sunset across the street is picture perfect. We have been coming to Fripp for over 10 years and we will be staying here again. My family is picky about where we stay and they all loved it! Thanks for a great week!

Hidden Gem

House was as exactly as described. Beach is a short distance from the house, the golf cart and beach cart make it so easy... you'll haul everything you need and do not need to the beach!! Clay was very responsive and wonderful to deal with.

Perfect spot for family vaca

Fripp Island is a must see!

Very big and roomy for the three of us. Everything was as advertised. House was clean and very organized. Owner was a joy to work with, always willing to make our stay amazing. If we ever vacation in that area again we would definitely stay there.

Just as Described.

Clay was very responsive and wonderful to deal with. The house was very clean, with an open floor plan with lots of seating and had everything we needed including a golf cart. The Mid-Island location was great and Beach access was a very short walk. We come to Fripp Island several times a year and will definitely stay at the Pogue Shack again!
