Wir waren leider sehr enttäuscht von unserem Aufenthalt. Das Zimmer befand sich im Keller, die Fenster ließen sich nicht öffnen, und bei Beanstandungen war kein Techniker im Haus verfügbar. Zudem standen keine Parkplätze zur Verfügung, was für ein Hotel dieser Preisklasse überraschend ist. Das Bett war mit 140 cm extrem klein für ein Doppelzimmer und insgesamt stimmte das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis absolut nicht. Für uns leider keine Empfehlung.

Great week at Lake Constance

Lake Constance is a wonderful area for vacations. The Plaza Hotel in Friedrichshafen is located a bit outside of downtown. Its a hotel with breakfast only. No restaurants nearby. Parking was a bit of a challenge at times, more cars than spaces. Breakfast buffet was excellent every day. The service was pleasant/friendly.

The rating and cost are way too high. It’s clean and otherwise nice but the front staff is rude. I asked THREE times for a room cleaning over my 3 night stay and it wasn’t done. Even left door tag requesting clean which staff removed and still didn’t clean. Would never staff here again.

I thoroughly enjoyed the view from my balcony. Though, I did find the step up/step down from the room a little unsafe. I think the breakfast buffet could have had better choices, but what I did eat was good. Most of the staff was very friendly and helpful.

Does not actually have A/C - avoid May-Sep

This hotel is a scam for the summer months. They say they have air conditioning but they absolutely do not. We visited in May when outside temperatures were around 30 C and then inside temperature was 28 C (!). It was unbearable, but, having read the reviews, apparently, the hotel is just pretending to have A/C and actually hasn't for years. They moved us to another hotel free of charge, which I appreciate, but the lie itself is just too much. We got to our room around 9pm, were exhausted, and just wanted to sleep, but we still had to walk the 30 minutes, with all of our bags, to the other hotel they were moving us to. To make everything worse though, Hotels.com, of which I've been a member for almost 12 years, did absolutely nothing to resolve this. Not a thing. After waiting on hold for 45 minutes and speaking with two separate people, I was just told over and over how this wasn't Hotels.com's "responsibility". But, the fact of the matter is Hotels.com is clearly not vetting their hotels whatsoever, becaus we specifically filtered for hotels with A/C, which caused this one to come up - but, if Hotels.com bothered to listen to their own members, they would have realized years ago that this hotel has no right to list A/C as an ameninty. The only saving grace of this situation was the kind young man at the front desk, whom I do not fault for the failings of the hotel at which he works. The hotel itself and Hotels.com however, behaved atrociously and absolutely let me down.

We stayed only one day. The check-in was easy and the receptionist very helpful. The room clean and nice. However when we got back to sleep we realized that the air-condition was not working. We tried multiple times and different combinations but there was no cold air. This made our night pretty miserable

Great spot and convenient location for exploring Friedrichshafen by foot, bike or public transit! Also convenient base for traveling to Lindau and other towns near the Bodensee. The hotel room was the perfect size and appeared to be well-maintained. Would definitely stay again.

Overall the stay was pleasant, but there were a few disappointments. When the neighbours would flush the toilet the water would come up in our shower. There was no breakfast, which may have been due to Covid-19, but was still a shame.
