Hotel feels little outdated. You could smell moisture in the corridors and the room. Bed was comfortable but it would be nice to have different choice of pillows. Big plus was that it was quiet. Breakfast is basic but good. Staff speaks English and there was no problems in communication. Biggest drawback is Wifi, no coverage in the room. And there is no cable connection either. Not good if you travel for business.
It was a really nice hotel, clean, nice pool, good service. But I think I had higher expectations for the food, it was just good enough, but if you are looking for a place to have a nice dinner in cayenne, I wouldnt recomend it
Now this is what i call satisfaction... Always someone there that speaks English. Hospitality is great, the rooms are the best n cleanest! I love the pool n the gym room! Just excellent! A home away from home 👍🏽👍🏽 great job! The manager should get a monthly bonus
Great service and the people also help you speak French loool my spouse couldn't when I wasn't there so one of the lovely lady helped him awww The Food is A+ just heart warming with a homey warm feeling definitely recommended
The hotel is nice, with a good garden and a swimming pool. Very close to the seaside, with a relaxing beach, where you can even make a run or walk. There is not a direct access to the sea, you have to go out from the hotel, in any case we are talking about 100 m distance. There is a breakfast buffet, good but not so rich. Rooms are clean, with free wi-fi. The problem is the cost, really expensive if you consider the general level
It is a Novotel so the quality is fairly good. It is an attractive hotel but is located to far out to have easy access to the restaurants or anything else in central Cayenne. Checking in was not easy (no surprise they do not like speaking English and were not friendly to us for "whatever reason" - you might be able to guess.) and we were given a room at first, that we learned the hard way, had not been cleaned yet. After that we did get a clean room. A very small clean room that had a balcony and view of the service area. The room was modern, clean and had the usual amenities. We checked into a taxi with the front desk but they clearly were not interested in helping us to leave the hotel grounds - and we were told that taxis were VERY expensive. We decided to not fight it as we were tired after a long day of traveling and so we ate at their restaurant which was surprisingly, for a hotel, a good choice. The food and drinks were expensive but were good and served by friendly bar tender and wait staff. The hotel has a nice pool that unfortunately we were to late to enjoy.
I've just stayed 3 nights in this property in Cayenne. What we paid per room was incredibe high comparing with the service we've got in return. The rooms are small, very small for a 4 star hotel, they are slighty bigger than the Ibis' rooms. The wifi service was slow and intermitent. The bed needed to be change, that matress was old. It is a very clean hotel, with good food, not such great breakfast and power outlets throughout the lobby area like nowhere I've seen before, literally you can never run out of battery Good public areas. They lack communication within the staff. We had arrange for a special rate, but they were charging us a different one, then, when they went through the exchange of emails and confirmation they realized og the mistake and charged us the right amount, my partner did a reservation using his Le Club points, and they were not recognizing them, because apparently a voucer was missing, even when he was showing the Acoord email confitmation. We had to call the manager, and while taking to the guy mircously the front desk staff found the voucher they were asking for. So, nice hotel, expensive with no need, be carefull at check out.
We had a great stay at Novotel Cayenne. Very good breakfast that is included! Family room rate for 99 Euro was good. Restaurant at night excellent. People very helpful and friendly. Great cocktails from Eric the bartender!! We were there with 2 kids (8 &11 yrs). The family room we had was very small! We managed, and didn't have negative impact on stay, but the rooms looked bigger on the internet. Rooms were clean. Beach nearby, 1 minute walk next to the Hotel! Very nice!! Would stay there again!
We decided to try out this hotel for our last 2 nights in French Guiana (having stayed at the very expensive Ker on our first 2 nights) and we were not disappointed by the Novotel at all. There is only 1 fault (mentioned by other reviewers) and that is that the rooms have a musty odour that I think is caused by the lack of airing of the room and constantly running the air conditioning. They evidently know of this problem since the room has an automatic air fresher that squirts every few minutes. We left the balcony door open as much as we could and the air con off and it did help (or we got used to the smell!!). We booked direct on Novotel website. I requested a quiet room and was given 119 which is beside the lobby, I didn't need to go into the room to know that it wound not be quiet and they knew too so gave us 333 which faces the entrance so was not silent but I was grateful not to be beside the lobby. The room was a good size, comfortable, clean, the bathroom had lots of space to our things, the balcony had table and chairs which was nice. Breakfast was plentiful and had nespresso coffee. Free WiFi was good. All communal areas are very nice and stylish showing some thought went into it. It has a resort feel to it. Pool nice and location by beach nice for a walk. We had a snack in the restaurant although a little expensive was good quality and staff efficient. Staff at front desk that speak English are friendly, the ones that don't are rude and just say i don't speak English and refuse to even try to understand the bit of French that you might be trying to speak. There is a gym, my husband told me 2 of the machines did not work, we let them know when we left so hope they fix them. They let us keep our room until 2 since we had a late flight. You probably need a car if staying although the #2 bus leaves from the door of the hotel and goes to the market area in town which is practically the centre. I would stay here again for this rate or close to it. Were it not for the odour in the room I would have voted this hotel as excellent but due to that gave it only very good.
Positif : Clean rooms, small but nice swimmingpool, busstation just on the entrance, hotel just on the beach, Negatif : bad smell in the rooms, very bad service for clients. Reception doesn't want to call to reserve any restaurant in town, because they have own restaurant. Breakfast needs to be eaten in hotel. It is not possible to take it with you when you are doing an excursion from 6 am. You have to pay extra, even if your breakfast is included in your room.
