Amazing cottage
Such a beautiful place to stay! Exactly as pictured and described... Deer eating berries right outside your windows, the view from the deck could be framed, the smell of the pine trees and crisp ocean air while laying in the hammock, walks on the beach right down the hill, truly a couples paradise for 2. Dan was such a great host and even notified us that one of the ferries was down so we wouldn't miss our flight. Their book of suggested places to eat and see made it easy and relaxing. I highly suggest this property.

Wonderful Stay
We had a great time at this cabin. I can't say enough about how nice it was. The host Dan communicated well and made check in/out very easy. The location and amenities were perfect for our family. Cabin is clean and cozy with a beautiful front deck to relax on. The community has a beach and pool, so it's perfect for kids. Lots of cute towns and hikes close by. We would absolutely stay again and highly recommend!

Our Happy Place
This is our 2nd year staying at this amazing cabin. Dan checked in personally to see if everything was going smoothly and was prompt in response to questions. He genuinely wanted to make sure our visit was enjoyable. WE ALL LOVED IT! The view of water from the deck is so beautiful, and we were able to enjoy morning coffee while the kids ran around on the grass/swung in the hammock. This cabin is specifically good for parents bringing kids. There's a bedroom downstairs and a lofted upstairs room with 3 beds. My kids said it reminded them of "Goldilocks and the three bears"--matching, and storybook cute. We split our days between the pool and the beach. This is such a rare combination of saltwater fun and pool play. It was a kid paradise. The pool has no lifeguard, but there is a baby pool shallow section that is great for non-swimmer toddlers/babies. On our last walk from the beach, an actual old-fashioned ice cream truck drove by--again, it felt storybook and perfect.
On the practical side, there is a washer and dryer in the cabin--this was helpful with messy kid play clothes. We brought a wagon to pack towels and sand toys for the beach (and cart tired kids back to the cabin).
This is a magical cabin, in a magical bay, on a magical island, in the magical pnw. We made memories we will recall for a lifetime...and took a zillion pictures to sort through when our kids are older.

Very cozy cabin!
We rented the cabin for Thanksgiving weekend. It was clean, warm and really cozy. It had a great little kitchen, very well stocked with kitchen tools and cookware. The furniture was soft and comfortable. The kids LOVED the loft! We had a beautiful view of the evening sky and was close to a grocery store. Would definitely rent it again, maybe in the summertime, so we can use the pool. The owner was very friendly, had a great long weeekend!

So kid-friendly!
From the moment we arrived until the minute we drove away, our kids had SO MUCH FUN! Dan & Julia left us (chilled!) white wine, which we enjoyed on their spacious porch overlooking Puget Sound. I was concerned without AC, we would overheat--but fans cooled the house quickly in the evenings. It was helpful for have a washer/dryer for all of the beach laundry.
My kids favorite things included: making smores on the beach, swinging in the hammock, the bunnies/deer that paraded through the yard, and the POOL! The pool was ideal for the whole family, with a clearly divided ultra-shallow area for toddlers, a shallow end for younger kids, and a 9' deep end for diving for old kids. The neighbors in the community were all kind and friendly. Dan and Julia checked in several times to make sure we were enjoying out stay. They are truly "super hosts"! We plan to book again for next year.

Idyllic Cabin in Mutiny Bay
Just stayed at Moonshadow Cabin on Whidbey Island in the Mutiny Bay Area. The cabin was immaculate, cozy, and very comfortable. The hosts really thought of everything to make you feel welcome. Little touches like a fluffy down comforter, soft linens, a perfectly appointed kitchen, and a fire TV stick with streaming services made our stay a pleasure. The grill is a charcoal grill, so be sure you bring brickettes if you plan to cook out. There is an outdoor table on the patio with an umbrella for your all-day enjoyment. Everything was in perfect working order, the pantry had an assortment of spices and coffee. Plenty of pots, pans, serving dishes, and utensils as well as a full size fridge and range, toaster oven, dish washer and microwave. Summer weather decided to arrive right as we did, but the hosts had included a fan for our comfort, and the air flow in the cabin is quite good. The pool is just a short walk away, and the beach is nearby as well. The garden is lovingly tended, and landscaping offers shade, lovely flowers, and a lawn for playing. Plenty of wildlife in the yard for your enjoyment; we saw bunnies, deer, and birds galore. The location is quiet, nothing but leaves rustling and birds chirping. Lovely view of the shipping lane, with sailboats and container ships passing. We enjoyed visiting Whidbey Ice Cream, just 5 minutes up the road, right across from the Payless Foods grocery store and Ace hardware store should you need anything during your stay. Upon arrival, there was cold water chilling in the fridge along with a bottle of chardonnay from our hosts. Dan, is very friendly and proactive in communications. Check in and check-out were a breeze. I would happily return here during a return visit, and wish we could have stayed longer.

Great vacation spot
The house was the perfect getaway with everything we needed to exist without bringing the kitchen with us. The neighborhood is beautiful, and the beach was a five minute walk with lots of sand and few people. We had a blast and are planning our next getaway.

lovely getaway from Seattle area
Moonshadow Cabin is in a lovely central location on Whidby Island- a 5 min drive from the closest grocery store/coffee/restaurants, and 20 minutes or less from other areas of interest. Our 4yo and 7yo loved exploring the yard and neighborhood (it took us 4 minutes to walk to the pool, 10 minutes to walk to the beach). The neighbors were all very welcoming, and overall the stay was lovely! The cabin had everything we needed for a relaxing weekend and Dan was a thorough and thoughtful host!

Cozy cabin
Good experience all around. It was a lovely cabin. We were comfortable and cozy. The views were great and it was so quiet. We had twice daily deer parades across the property.
The only caution I'd mention is that, though charming, getting in and out of the clawfoot tub was challenging for us older folk. Grab bars would fix this right up.

Perfect for the family
The house is in a very nice location at the end of a cul-de-sac. So while you are near by everything you need, you still have a sense of privacy and isolation for relaxing.
There is a large deck and huge yard the kids had a blast running around in and the deer and bunnies pass through. Highly recommend for for a relaxing peaceful family vacation
