Kitchen, Walk-in Shower, One block off Main
Summary: Cozy “mother-in-law” apartment, two blocks off east Main Street and the war museum. Walkable to the shops, museum, wine shuttles, East Main. Full kitchen, living area with 42' TV, beautiful walk-in shower, full amenities, off street parking and a cooking fire pit. Living area is perfect to have a few friend or a kids to stay with sleeper sofa!. Check out Das Zimmer right next door for another private room. Registered pets allowed at $75. Two offsite parking spots STR23-0551
The Space: The Casa is on the edge of the east end of Old Fredericksburg near The Old Mill Settlement and the Historic Der Stadt Friedhof. We are two blocks from the Pacific War Museum and half a block from the re-enactment zone. Restaurants such as Otto's, Vaudeville, Rathskeller are just 3-4 blocks away. We are also three blocks from east Main were the shops are located. The guest house was an old mother-in-law apartment that is attached my my main house. Vaulted wood ceilings and an open space greets you when you enter. The living and kitchen area are not oversized but the open landscape gives it a roomy feel. Kitchen is set-up for most cooking tasks and the dinning area for evenings in the house. The sofa makes into a full sized bed - It is not a pull out its a fold down about the size of a full. There is a door to separate the living and bedroom area with separate climate controls. The bedroom has an antique wood piece for the queen bed headboard. The sink is in the bedroom with the bathroom around the corner. The walk-in shower has a stone floor, plaster/concrete look walls and glass doors. Water is treated and makes for a great shower! There is a small private and fenced back yard 9x16 ish. Front yard is shared space but a private drive and entrance for guests. There is a second room and bathroom available for larger groups and bachelorette parties. You can book it separately as Der Zimmer or the joint listing on airbnb as Casa Tranquila and Der Zimmer. Special requests or set-ups may be accommodated so just ask! There may be fees for extra materials but we can work all that out. Pet's are a separate fee and must be registered. (STR #8056000795)
Guest Access: The Casa is all yours. There is a single shared (and insulated) wall to another AirBNB room but no access between. Washer and dryer are located in main house but with a separate side entrance. You have full access to the entire front yard and if you have a dog he/she is free to roam with supervision. The small back yard is all yours and not shared space - so use as you would like.
The Neighborhood: Neighborhood is a block away from the end of "Old Fredericksburg" by the historic Lutheran Cemetery Der Stadt Friedhof. The perks of being close to Main and not have the noise of Main Street. Very walkable to all of central Main Street. Two blocks to the Pacific War Museum, Otto's and wine shuttle. Quiet neighborhood but easy to access.
Getting Around: There is Uber and Lift in town. You can book a private rental through several places in town. The best up to-date list is at the visitors center. Message the host if you need help.
Other Things to Note: There is one other smaller guest room onsite. It does have a shared wall with Casa Tranquila. Please only bring pets if they are trained and most importantly quiet. Dog noises for some reason escape through the insulated walls! They must not be left alone if they are prone to whimper or barking. This is something that is enforced so please be honest and aware of your pets behavior.
Interaction with Guests: I live onsite and someone is available to assist with whatever you need, just text, call, or knock on the bright orange door for your questions, just to chat or whatever! I travel frequently, but someone will always be available!
The vacation home is air-conditioned and features a kitchen and a balcony, and there's space to spread out with a separate bedroom. Other standard amenities include a washing machine, a coffee maker, and an ironing board.

Great location, terrible gnat problem
Pros:Check in process simpleLocation greatCons:It took a little bit to figure out how to get the (2) AC units to work together. Once we did, once really that cool, but significantly better than outsideThe gnat situation was terrible. We first arrived just after 4 p.m. to drop off our stuff before heading to dinner. When we sat on the couch to figure out where to eat we came across a gnat. Ok, killed that one and thought, cool. No then there was another. Killed that one and then head out. Came back a couple of hours later to more gnats flying around. We looked for some bug spray in the kitchen, tried to figure out where they were coming from, then finally messaged the host for assistance. We didn't get a response until almost 3:00 a.m. We were sleep, we didn't see the message that said look under the kitchen sink for bug spray. Clearly didn't read our initial message. The gnat situation continued, so we left and walked to get some coffee. Came back a couple hours later and at this point, we're over trying to kill gnats. We showered, gathered our things and left.
