We stayed four weeks in July/Aug 2025 and enjoyed it immensely. Morning coffee on the porch watching the birds and enjoying the view. When family visited, there was so much to do that we stayed busy every day. Tubing, white water rafting, hiking, visiting waterfalls, shopping and just sitting on the porch. Great Holiday Stay at the Bear Den

This was our 2nd stay at the Bear Den. The house is cozy and very well appointed. The beds are the most comfortable we have ever slept on. The stay was a little to cool for much time on the porch, but we certainly enjoyed the fireplace! Convenient for Polar Express Train, Franklin and Dillaboro.

A comfortable place in a great location

This is the 3rd time staying here, and we enjoyed it like we have before. Very comfortable to stay here, with two nice recliners, so no arguments on who gets the "good one." :) Love the location that is close to town but off in a secluded woodsy area. Will try to come again next year, I'm sure.

Such a sweet mountain home with comfortable beds, a cozy living room, clean bathrooms, a stocked kitchen, and an amazing view from the back porch! The driveway is super steep, but we got used to it and couldn’t beat the view it provided. Franklin is lovely and not far from many other mountain towns, waterfalls, and other adventures. We had our three kids with us (5, 9, and 11). The stairs had a latched gate, the porch was screened in, and there was plenty of space inside to play.
