We were here for four days, nice breakfast every morning, coffe, eggs, fruit, ham & more staff was great, rooms were pretty and need, wifi work perfect never a problem, tv-cable with few soccer channels wish is great for me. near to most attraction inside the city in fact we were just planning to sleep here and go to near cities but when we got there we found out that Wurzburg have many attraction that we didn't so instead of going to other cities we stay in Wurzburg and explore there for two days. To much to see if you ask local people.
This hotel is in a great location! You can easily walk to all the must sees in Wurzburg. However it is pretty run down. There is NO AC in the rooms! It was around 90F when we were staying there and it was miserable. The furniture is pretty beat up and outdated. The rooms are very clean though. I wish we would have stayed elsewhere. It was not ideal for a romantic vacation.
We had a very friendly reception. Everything was organized. we could check in at about noon already instead of normally in the afternoon. The breakfast was average from variety but good . Spent a quit night.
Stayed for only one night, got it thru Loyalty Points. Great location withing walking distance from the main plaza and other tourist places. The staff friendly and the hotel very clean. Not new but in very good shape. Good breakfast included
Just returned from a four night stay as part of a Shearings trip at Hotel Amberger Wurzburg. Our room was a decent size. Lets be honest we only needed it for sleeping in. It was very tidy and cleaned every day. Breakfast was more than acceptable, varied and plentiful. As we were on a coach trip we were provided with an evening meal. Once again the meals were varied and perfectly acceptable. I don't think the staff have reached restaurant level service though but they were always cheerful and polite. I guess with only a couple of coach trips a year they don't get the experience. The only downside to the hotel was the lack of a hotel bar or lounge area. Sometimes that is the best place to mix with other coach passengers( I suppose that isn't the fault of the hotel though). We were allowed to use the linked restaurant next door but it was a bit embarrassing as we only wanted drinks. Overall a lovely hotel and such a short distance to walk to the sights of Wurzburg
This small hotel is reasonably placed near many tourist attractions - the old city and the Wuerzburg Residenz are within ten minutes' walk, and the rail station is about 15 min away on foot. Reception staff are friendly and helpful. Nice breakfast buffet. Rooms are comfortable but a bit tired, though. Old furnishings, insubstantial cupboards. And not much soundproofing between rooms.
Stayed here as a part of a Romantic Road cycle tour package organised by Vélotours in conjunction with Freedom Treks UK. Nice, clean and spacious enough room. We had paid for half-board, and the hotel doesn't have a restaurant so we were given a table at the Italian restaurant next door, which in my opinion was not good value for money. Easy 5-minute walk to the city centre, which is lovely.
We stayed here for one hot night and the lack of air conditioning was a problem, especially as the room was not much bigger than a ship's cabin (economy)! The twin beds either side of the room were narrow and there was hardly any room to walk in between. The receptionist was good but when asked for a restaurant he directed us to a really busy one in the town, without even mentioning the pizzeria next door which we had overlooked and which would have been much more convenient.
A very outdated hotel. I agree with many of the other reviews - my main concern was that the rooms (and breakfast area) were very hot and stuffy, which also makes them a bit smelly. A window and stand fan offered some relief/fresh air in my room, but with the downside of road noise. This was booked for me through an agent. In summary - positives: close to town centre/attractions and the ring park, authentic hotel, free wi fi and a modem bathroom. Cons: generally everything in the hotel is very old, outdated decor, hot and stuffy (quite uncomfortable), no frills, very mediocre breakfast offering and unfriendly wait staff. Okay for a short overnight stay. Otherwise pay a bit more and check out the Novotel around the corner. This hotel is not suited to the traveller more used to modern, western style hotels.
This hotel is in need of a "update"..! The rooms were very warm and there was no AC (more than opening the window...) and the lighting was awful. The style is very 70-80-ish and rather timeworn and "dated", the wall covering in the elevator is fantastic for its style... BUT the breakfast is fantastic..! A large assortment of everything and some absolutely wonderful paté and sausages. The staff is very friendly and professional and English works well. It just needs to enter the 21th century when it comes to the rooms...
