Novotel Wuerzburg4.0 out of 5.0

The hotel is 7 minutes walk from downtown. The staff is friendly and the room is nice although the sofa bed for the children wasn't as wide as in other Novotels. The breakfast was much better than others' but the surprise is the large number of helpful young personnel. The dining area is big and if it is needed they use an adjacent room so there is no problem with the guests. The best of all is the magnificent internal heated swimming pool suitable not only for kids but also for adults. The only bad point is the parking where there are not many parking spaces, so some times you have to park away from the main door.
Very good location and very friendly team. The reception team gave me a lot of hints to discover the region and the town Wuerzburg. The breakfast ist very various and the waiters are very helpful. We would really recommend this hotel.
I booked this after staying in other Novotel hotels and being impressed. However this simply isn't up to Novotel standards, the property is old and tired, the corridors were dirty, the reception staff are rude and brusque. We had had a long car journey and had booked this hotel on the basis it had a restaurant and paying car park on site as advertised on their website. The carpark was a public carpark and there were no spaces so we ended up having to park elsewhere. We tried to eat in the hotel restaurant but the waitress was so rude, she slammed my husbands drink on the table and then ignored us, so after 20 minutes or so we had no option other than to leave and find an alternative restaurant down the street. There were only two waitress working that night and they were clearly overworked and stressed but that is not the fault of the paying customer. Clearly reading some of the other reviews after we'd stayed would have put us off booking. I would advise anyone expecting normal Novotel standards not to stay here.
The staff in the hotel is very friendly but the hotel is very old. The average Ibis is better then this old building. Old carpets, old floors and you would expect they had at least used a paint brush to fresh things up a little ... but no the last paint that this Novotel had seen was probably in the last millenium. Normally Novotel is quite reliable but this Novotel is to be avoided at all cost !
Had to find a hotel at the last minute so were really pleased that this one was available. The bed was amazingly comfortable. It was a standard double and normally they are hell for me and my husband as they are too small so we prefer Kings. These mattresses however, hold you in place so that you are not bumping into each other. The hotel is an easy walk into town, the breakfast was excellent and the stroke pool, great fun.
Great location just 15mins walk to old town. Friendly staff.slightly older property but clean.relaxing pool area with spa pool, sauna, steam room. New beds with soft toppers. All round good value for family.
We where comming form central station so decided this was close by, it is about a 15min walk if you don't get lost. It's a quick walk into the centre ,quite in the middle of everything. The rooms are modern and specious unlike some novetels. If you are looking for a place to eat I would recommend the restaurant in the novetel as it's well priced and delicious! Highly recommend
We had an American group of four who began our tour of Germany with Wuerzburg Most important, of course, is the residence. We were so fortunate to be able to procure tickets to a special event at the residence during our stay. It was an evening of symphony with Opera and a gourmet buffet. The entire evening was quite exclusive and thoroughly enjoyed!
Excellent hotel with clean, fair-sized room. Parking at underground garage with crimping narrow spaces. would have rated this higher but receptionist publicly reprimanded me for not have booking papers -- first time in all these years this has happened.
Stopped there during a cycling tour and the hotel was really good for that purpose. Bikes can be stored in the hotel garage. Rooms show some signs of usage, but nothing which is too much. Bathroom a bit small for a family room. Wireless a bit unstable at times. Breakfast was just delicious as the offer was very, very big. And the outside terrace makes it special if the weather is nice. We were there during high season and the hotel was crowded. Service was still professional, but nothing beyond. Restaurants and the old town and the train station are in walking distance
