Don't know why people have called this a business type hotel. We were on a long pleasure tour of Europe, and this was a great stop on our trip. Wish we'd have spent more time in Wurzburg, but we did see the Residence, which is awesome. So were the staff at this hotel. I realized on Sunday AM I should likely pick up my rental car early in the day, and the very nice gentleman at the front desk found the car agency on line, called them, and let them know I was on the way. Very much appreciated. The beds were super comfortable, as advertised. The pool was a real bonus. Very nice water, a swim jet, and a powerful whirlpool area that erased many days of walking. We had dinner also at the hotel, and it was excellent. The walk from the hotel to the Residence is all through a beautiful park. Just loved it. Haven't a single memory of this hotel that isn't positive. BTW, there are pictures posted of water stains in fixtures and such. Get over it, so they have hard water? Our room was spotlessly clean.
The Novotel was within walking distance of the trains and public transportation. The staff was wonderful and very helpful. Wurtburg was a beautiful city. The Breakfast was excellent each day. We had a lovely dinner as well.
The Novotel is a good deal for people requiring two beds. The room was clean and roomy. The staff was friendly. We did not eat breakfast there as we thought it was too expensive. Wuerzberg is a lovely town and the hotel is a ten minute walk to the edge of the historic district. It is maybe fifteen minutes to the palace. We world us this hotel again.
A great place to stay if you have a car because they have underground parking. We’re particularly happy with the front desk staff who helped us with our check-in (regretfully I’ve forgotten her name). We arrived before the regular check-in time, and she suggested that if we sign up for a worldwide Sofitel membership immediately (just fill out a form, free of charge), we can always enjoy early check-ins at any Sofitel-branded hotels. Very glad that she gave us these little tips instead of rigidly asking us to stick to the regular check-in time.
Wurzburg is a lovely place to stay with many interesting sites. The hotel was clean efficient with helpful staff. Onsite parking with a good breakfast although the hotel was situated a little way from the centre it was a easy walk, very quiet on a night.
We stayed for two nights. The location is quite convenient from the train station but a little outside the center in a rather boring part of town. The room was clean and spacious enough. The nicest thing about the hotel was perhaps the swimming pool. Overall, an average experience, the value for money was not particularly great.
The hotel is 7 minutes walk from downtown. The staff is friendly and the room is nice although the sofa bed for the children wasn't as wide as in other Novotels. The breakfast was much better than others' but the surprise is the large number of helpful young personnel. The dining area is big and if it is needed they use an adjacent room so there is no problem with the guests. The best of all is the magnificent internal heated swimming pool suitable not only for kids but also for adults. The only bad point is the parking where there are not many parking spaces, so some times you have to park away from the main door.
Very good location and very friendly team. The reception team gave me a lot of hints to discover the region and the town Wuerzburg. The breakfast ist very various and the waiters are very helpful. We would really recommend this hotel.
I booked this after staying in other Novotel hotels and being impressed. However this simply isn't up to Novotel standards, the property is old and tired, the corridors were dirty, the reception staff are rude and brusque. We had had a long car journey and had booked this hotel on the basis it had a restaurant and paying car park on site as advertised on their website. The carpark was a public carpark and there were no spaces so we ended up having to park elsewhere. We tried to eat in the hotel restaurant but the waitress was so rude, she slammed my husbands drink on the table and then ignored us, so after 20 minutes or so we had no option other than to leave and find an alternative restaurant down the street. There were only two waitress working that night and they were clearly overworked and stressed but that is not the fault of the paying customer. Clearly reading some of the other reviews after we'd stayed would have put us off booking. I would advise anyone expecting normal Novotel standards not to stay here.
The staff in the hotel is very friendly but the hotel is very old. The average Ibis is better then this old building. Old carpets, old floors and you would expect they had at least used a paint brush to fresh things up a little ... but no the last paint that this Novotel had seen was probably in the last millenium. Normally Novotel is quite reliable but this Novotel is to be avoided at all cost !
