Golden Tulip Fortaleza4.0 out of 5.0

Having being very impressed by a Golden Tulip in Berlin we thought to use this as basis for one day in Fortaleza. Poor choice. The structure is oldish and depressing. Rooms just ok but again oldish. Forget the restaurant, it remembered us of experiences in Socialist Yugoslavia in the 80s. Check in curiously cumbersome. No more.
Very nice hotel with nice staff and good location. It is near the principal avenue with great food service. They offers a wide variety of tourist programs provided by excellent tourism partners! Definitely, I recommend!
We've stayed there for the weekend, the room was very clean and spacious. The ocean view is totally worth it. The breakfast was very good, with a lot of options. The wifi signal was not very good in our room, which was bad for us - cause we were working remotely.
I have the city of Fortaleza as one of my favorite domestic destinations for two reasons: the unique hospitality of the locals and the fruits of the sea delicacies always delicious. I did a quick hosting this hotel, visiting the city, this time to work. In the case of a higher qualification, I found disappointing. Check-in friendly, but still impractical in slow manual fill admission forms. Spacious apartments have worn offered by time and poorly maintained (dirty walls, visibly in need of painting); large bathroom with old towels, but clean as well as sanitized linens. When you open the curtain a glass door that divides the room with a balcony, is faced with a beautiful view of the city with its urban beach, BUT, to join the balcony, how much disappointment !! Comes the strong and unpleasant smell of a seafood market next to the hotel ... not enough just limiting this detail to a good stay at all meals (breakfast and dinner), had insistently flies flying over the table buffet and frequently landing on your plate ... needs to improve
First I normally stay here for business travel. Two things are good in this hotel: 1. Good breakfast 2. You have a wonderful view of the Sea! Although the rooms it quite big. They need a refresh. The bed is very bad!!!
When I booked this hotel it has 4 stars. I do not rated even as 2 stars. The hotel looked very tired, old. Rooms are not comfortable. Windos rattle with the wind and they do not close properly. It needs a full facelift. Do not recomend anybody top stay there. When booking it said free WiFi. There was none!!! Staff very friendly/
I stayed at Golden Tulip Iate Plaza for 1 night only. This is not a beach front hotel and there's no access to the beach through the street around the corner - the city council raised a wall to avoid the ocean tide to destroy the buildings - this was a major down point to me as I wanted to have easy access to the beach walking path. The second thing I noticed was that there's no Wifi connection at the rooms only at the hotel lobby, which like everything in Fortaleza is boiling hot. On its general aspect, it felt like an old hotel or maybe something that's not well taken care of. The room was OK and the view was great. I found the bed 2 soft. It looked like a King Size bed, but in fact it was 2 beds put together. As soon as I entered my room I went to have a shower, then I realized there was no towells in my apartment, so I had to ring the reception and ask for them. It wasn't my best experience in Brazil, neither the worse, considering Fortaleza standards.
From all the hotels I've stayed, this one surely has the best view, Basically, this hotel seems to be located on the sand beach, which makes his geographical position better than the most hotels. You can take great pictures by the front of the hotel. Breakfast is also good. Didnt like much the bathroom though, but it was clean.
The Golden Tulip is on the Beira Mar beach in Fortaleza. It's pretty average. It was built around 2001 and was probably nice for a few years, but it has gone to seed and management has not kept it modernized. The furnishings are old and stained, the bathroom is not clean, the carpets are soiled. The air conditioner in my room worked fine, although in my colleagues rooms' they were not operative. The problem is that the genius room-designer installed the air conditioner exactly on top of the bed, so it creates noise and a drying wind that gives sleepers a headache. There is no wif-fi, in the rooms there is an antique-style DSL wire that you can plug into your computer -- it's free and works fine, but obviously can't be used with an iPad or cel phone or other wireless device. The restaurant is mediocre, not recommended for dinner, but for breakfast it is acceptable although badly organized and with inattentive staff. The swimming pool is small and dingy and in the middle of the restaurant. The hotel is pretty average, and not worth the price. I wouldn't recommend it and won't stay there again.
It is a nice hotel, at the end of the main beach avenue, a bit far from downtown. the rooms are above average for the sizes. Need to get one towards the beach, have better view. Have a nice breakfast buffet. Service in the overall are not very professional, needs renovation on its installations, specially in their bathrooms (shower within inside tub is terrible). Service at the pools side is non-existent, although is a relaxing place by the ocean. Sauna did not work at all, even after complaining.
