So here’s the deal. No cockroaches in our room, which I was nervous about! Yes the room/hotel is a little rundown, but that’s expected at these old beach hotels. The view is insane!!! The balcony is beautiful. Note, there will be people smoking all sorts of “things” on the balcony; so you may have to close your door to the balcony. We were on the 7th floor and could hear the pool music loudly. But it wasn’t bad. We came here for my husband’s 40th birthday trip he loves this beach! The doors to the room don’t seal properly so you can hear everything in the hallway crystal clear. Check in was a breeze, checkout was a breeze! We stayed at the island hotel last time and that had more places within walking distance. Tom Thumb convenience store is about a 10 min walk. Stewby’s (amazing seafood) is about 15 min walk. You can also walk a mile and a half down the beach near the pier for more stuff. They have a great happy hour $5 margaritas. All the staff was so kind! Always smiling, laughing and happy. Cleaned our room daily! Which we appreciated, all the sand! You can rent chairs and an umbrella, we sprung for that our last day. Bed was decently comfy, tv small which we only used at night to unwind. They have a little restaurant/bar on the grounds and a small breakfast shop! We loved our stay!

This hotel had roaches in our bathroom and the only resolution they offered was to spray chemicals in our room or move rooms after we had already stayed a night and unpacked everything. They had a hidden fee for parking that was never seen during booking on orbitz, nor was it mentioned at check in. We paid cash for an incidentals deposit and they didn’t tell us they wouldn’t return the money until maintenance inspected our room during check out. We had a flight to catch and a rental car to return so it was highly inconvenient. Hotel cleaning staff was very friendly and serviced the room everyday, pool was clean and maintained, steps to the beach and chair/umbrella rentals were right next to the hotel. Hotel was centrally located to so many things and was easy to find.

Absolutely breathtaking views of not just the sunrise but the sunset as well. Rooms are really nice, clean, affordable, and the staff, friendly and helpful. Great burgers at the Manatee! Even in the off season it's a remarkable stay. Oh..ps..you can even watch the dolphins!

I lakes in to trash in the bins. That’s always nice to see. Lights didn’t work so we had to use the small lamps and the bathroom lights. Ovwr the sink light forget it. We came to hear the sounds of the ocean. But come 9am that stupid water slide came on and stayed on till 10. Hated when a few kids slid down into that cold pool. Their screams echoed. Be nice if both pool were heated! Room was small. There’s nice hotels that run aboit the same price if not lower that offer a hot breakfast. I get the plan is to make more money for the hotel. Be nice if there was coffee available in each building instead of having to walk to the front desk. It was very cold between Christmas and new years. Walking between that “bar” and a seating area, that floor is slick. No rain, no water. I was wearing sandals and was able to slide a good 4 ft. Now let’s talk about the $10 parking fee that isn’t on any website that I saw or third party booking. Wasn’t the only one who said anything when checking out. That’s just not right. And to say, we’ve told the third parties to add that. It says taxes n fees whwn you pay through them. So wouldn’t that mean parking? Ohh that’s right, it’s ran by someone else. Dunno how or why. There’s no valet. There’s no sign for free parking any where. Great lil gig y’all have to scam ppl!! I will say the view was pretty good. In building c u can’t catch sunrise unless on beach during the time we went. Forget sunset too.

We came to listen to the ocean and birds. Unfortunately our room overlooked the cold pool. So from morning till evening all we could hear was that stupid rock slide n the music that’s played. We also heard the few kids that decided to slide down it screaming how cold it was. Not exactly relaxing. I almost fell whwn walking between the “bar” and the sitting area. I had sandals on. I slide on it like it was ice. Hate to see if it was wet. The room is pretty small compared to other places we’ve stayed. We had only two lamps that worked plus the bathroom light. Sink light and “hall” light didn’t work. Made room very dark at night. I will go on other sites to warn them about the $10 fee that we didn’t see posted any where. Saw many ppl complaining at check out but oh well. Allegedly it’s written some where. We stayed 3 nights so you’d think they would keep us at the same price but nope! $60 more. Can stay at a better hotel that offers free breakfast for that price.
