There's only 1 place for food or drinks on site and it closes at 5, no where close to dinner time . The pots and pans in our condo were from the 90'a (B512) so everything we cooked burnt because the pans had no Teflon left at all. What you get in each condo is up to the owner but ours had stuff bought from a thrift store. The housekeeper walked into our room twice while we were there thinking we were checking out , although we weren't , called the front desk and they apologized and then it happened again . The beach is the worse part . It's a very small section where they put a TON of people ! They set the chairs up in giant horseshoes so you're looking at people across from you and people playing frisbee or ball in the center ( got hit several times with one) . Woke up at 6:30am to try to get a close spot to the ocean but people were earlier than me and will put towels on the chairs to "reserve" them and will do this for 3 sets of chairs and then leave and won't come back till noon or whenever and there's no rules against it so we were stuck in the far back of this crazy horseshoe. I asked the chair guy if we could rent a set and he told me that we could pay but we'd still sit in the horse shoe set up , they won't set it up somewhere different even if you pay. It's a joke , don't waste your money , go somewhere different!
We stayed at Waterscapes resort in Fort Walton Sept 28-Oct 5th, 2019. We stayed in room B112 for the second time which is a privately owned condo on the 1st floor near the pool. The owner, Danica, has 3 rooms at the resort and she is amazing. She keeps in contact with you leading up to the trip, sends you tips/suggestions of things to do and even has it set up for her house keeper to do your grocery shopping so it is in your refrigerator upon your arrival (for a small fee). We arrived for an early 1100 am check-in to the wonderful music of Jimmy Buffett playing in the condo. The room was spotless and updated. We found all of our groceries there that we requested. The place has a large kitchen, a large master bedroom, secondary bedroom, a large living room/dining room, a laundry room/pantry and a loft with bunk beds for the kids. The pool area of the resort is very nice for families/kids. There are 2 pools, 2 hot tubs and a lazy river. Our kids loved the lily pad rope course and spent a lot of time there. There is also a tiki hut sponsored by Fudd Puckers for food/drink. I ordered 1 mixed drink from there, a Miami Vice, and it was just ok. I drank my own beer the rest of the time. The beach is large with mostly clear water. Danica provides you with a beach cart, 4 chairs, cooler, umbrella and tons of beach toys for the kids. We drug the cart out to the ocean every day. She even has it set up for a special deal for you to use the kayaks and paddle boards. We used the Kayaks twice. We actually ran into the owner on the beach and told her about 2 small things that needed repaired in the room and she fixed one that day. The other would need done after we left. We are beach snobs, usually traveling to the Caribbean via cruise or all-inclusive but when we stay stateside we really enjoy the Destin area and definitely enjoy the service Danica provides and the care she takes of her condos. The only thing this room does not have that I would like is a mid week cleaning service, which I could probably get and pay for if I ask. I highly recommend this room at this resort.
The outdoor area was great for our kids but the condo we stayed in was sub-par. It had bare necessities and was not that clean. I know these are individually owned condos but management needs to do a better job of cleaning! We enjoyed our stay but there is definitely room for improvement. We stayed in unit A104
I was so disappointed in our stay at Waterscape. When we arrived I found the condo dirty, it was picked up but had not been swept. I decided to vacuum but it was broke. We had 9 family members, we cooked our dinners and to find out the 2 pans that were available were only big enough for a 2 person meal, we had to cook in batches. The table service was enough for 4. Now if you have a condo that fits 9, would you not have enough to go around? The pool area was a lot smaller than pictures, very deceiving. Don't even get me started on beach area, people who worked the area were super rude!! Also the food at the pool area was not at all good and so expensive. The one and only star I would give is the bloody marys were good. $3000 stay that should have been a third of that, very disappointing. We will be going back to St Pete and stay at Trade Winds where they know what beach/resort stays are!
Waterscape condominiums was perfect for our family vacation. Location was spot on, very convenient to get to everything very centrally located. Rooms are very comfortable very clean and the Gulf views are amazing! White sand beaches are some of the best in the country. I highly recommend this vacation spot for families or couples it’s a great time for everybody
This place was ABSOLUTELY disgusting. Dirty, in disrepair, doors that do not latch, appliances that do not work at all, appliaces thay barely worked AND roaches in the floors and some kind if bugs in the bunk bed along with the gum stuck to the ceiling of the bottom bunk! OMG NIGHMARE...I CANNOT BELIEVE ANYONE WOULD RENT SUCH DISGUST, MUCH LESS AT THESW PRICES! I CANNOT WAIT TO GET HOME AND I WILL NEVER EVER RETURN HERE AGAIN!!!!! WE SHOULD BE GRANTED A REFUND!
I booked Waterscape for our semi-annual trip with the grandkids. (5 1/2 yrs old) We were there in mid-June and it was very busy. My guess is that it's a great kids place when school's out and hopefully a great adult place when school's in. The resort itself is very well managed, kept up and is nice. We had unit A500, which is a large, end unit, with 3 bdrm, 3.5bth, plus bunk room. Had everything you needed. GREAT view and being on the end, 5th floor, you catch whatever summer breeze there is in FL that time of year. We prefer high floors, but ground level rooms with out your door pool access are available and handy for coming/going at will. I will say that the ground, end units (out toward the beach) would give you the best of both worlds...a bit of privacy (pool not right in your face) and a great view and the convenience of ground floor access to the pool or beach. The pool is the star attraction! Pretty incredible...basically a water park, less the slides. Lots of fun and you'll be a hero for taking the kids there. Our kids were only on the beach a couple of times during their 4 days there. And HIGH MARKS for the resort managing the pool area. It was extremely busy, so the pool attendants would remove any towels that were saving chairs, after being unattended for 2hrs. I'm glad to see a resort back up their no saving chairs policy and enforce it. WELL DONE!!! The resort had daily activities for the kids to do; sand art, hair braiding, make your own snowcone...fun easy stuff that was managed well by the staff. The check-in experience is very good. The folks are welcoming, have everything ready for you and lots of info to share with you to get you going. Plenty of parking in the garages too, not a problem. Happy to answer questions...and if you find this review helpful, please click the "thumbs up" button below and let me know.
We visited Waterscape a few weeks ago. Waterscape is a nice resort. Plenty of activities for kids. Great Pools! The Condo was nice, it has beautiful view of the beach and the pool. It was clean and had everything you need for your stay. The only issue was the AC is locked you cannot set it below 71 and the company who manged the property could not get it changed. We were told the person who owns it can only change it and they never allow it to be lowered. This should have been somewhere in the description of the condo! It was very uncomfortable at night when sleeping. We tried to have the owner reached and explain a medical reason for having the AC lowered at night and were told they were on vacation and could not be reached. I would not stay in this unit again for that reason.
Stayed here at the end of May. Very nice condo, clean and kept up to date. Has a very nice lazy river and GYM. Would stay here again in a heart beat. Only downside where the beds should be replaced. Very squeaky/loud beds. Made it hard to sleep. Every time I moved the bed squeaked
These fully furnished condominiums are nice. Ours came with 2 master bedroom each with a full bath. There's also a half bath that is near the room for kids, it has a set of bunk beds. There's a coffee maker, pots pans, dishes, washer & dryer. The pools are geared for different aged kids. Saturday tends to be a slow day. Everyone is checking in or out. We stayed through Sunday and enjoyed a less crowded resort. It is spread out and depending on your room you might have quite a walk to the beach.
