We stayed here one night following our stay in Seaside for a business trip. It was absolutely delightful. The smaller hotel is off the highway (but that doesn’t take way from the experience) and is only composed of suites. Throughout the rest of the property, there are homes that are part of the rental association. The Inn is a bit away from the ocean, but you are provided two bikes to ride around the property (so the Beach Club, Pool, and boardwalk to the ocean are just a few minutes from the Inn when riding a bike). I would highly encourage you to head over to the beach around 4pm so you can enjoy the sunset around 5ish. Chairs and umbrellas are first come first serve. During the winter months there isn’t a lot of people around so you shouldn’t have any trouble snagging a couple chairs. Wear jeans and a heavier sweatshirts so you are plenty warm when the sun goes down! Since the Beach Club kitchen was closed after the sun went down(though drinks were available), we picked up a couple of pizzas from Bruno’s Pizza which is in the same building as the Inn, and then went back up to our cozy room to enjoy dinner! The room is just like the pictures on the website and the staff was absolutely wonderful. We I had called ahead that morning when I realized we would be at the hotel a few hours early before the 4pm check in. They were extremely accommodating and were prompt at checking us in when we arrived. I highly suggest staying here!
If you are looking for a nice place to stay with no helpful information from staff, then this is the place. Upon check in the front desk staff "Clarissa" was unfriendly, unwelcoming and acted like she hated her job. When we asked about what amenities they had she looked at us like we were stupid. I had to ask where the pool was, where to get a soda (no vending machines on site) and if there was room service (there is NONE). They leave the front desk at 5:00 and give you a code to get in the front door so there is literally no one around to help. The room was really nice but overpriced. The pool is not on site but within walking/bike distance. The beach club is really nice, they have 2 pools, one with a lazy river that was just recently opened, a restaurant, a bar and complimentary beach chairs. The staff at the club are all very helpful and attentive.
My family stayed at the WaterSound Inn. We were more than pleased with the size and comfort of our room. The beds were unbelievably comfortable and everything was spotless. Top notch appliances and everything you need to play house and feel at home. The beach club was out of this world, definitely a highlight with the huge, fun pool and fantastic food/drinks. We also loved the touch of having someone (a very personable someone that remembered our names and that we were from Michigan every time we went!) at the boardwalk on a golf cart to carry us to and from the beach as it was a bit of a walk. The beach at WaterSound is absolutely unbeatable and the staff working the beach were top notch. We asked one of them (I wish I could remember his name!) about shark activity and he was unbelievably knowledgeable, even giving us a lesson on what to do if we saw one (they hadn't in years). He obliged our questions for some time (which were probably silly to him) and seemed to genuinely love his job. This is a great place for those liking less commotion and more privacy, which is exactly what we were looking for. It was family friendly while quite suitable for adults on vacation as well. We have stayed several places on 30A and we will definitely be back to WaterSound.
The location was perfect – it was just a stroll to the beach and I could ride my bike to the beach club, which was GORGEOUS. There’s an awesome fitness facility, spa and a pizza place just downstairs and The Hub was a blast in the evenings. The suite was very well decorated and comfortable. It was larger than I expected – very roomy with a living room, dining area and a full kitchen so I didn’t have to eat out the entire time I was there. I just wish I could have stayed longer!
We stayed at the Watersound Inn. The room and beach club facilities were nice but I will never go back. First, the added fees totaled more than the room itself cost. Yes I should have payed more attention to the fine print when I booked but to me this is deceptive. We only had one full day at the beach but our ceiling had a leak and we had to spend a portion of our only beach day repacking and moving to a different room -- no apology or compensation from the Inn. Upon checkout I received a very confusing bill. When I called to ask for some explanation of the detailed charges, the staff couldn't even tell me what the charges were. I finally got to speak to an accountant who informed me I'd been overcharged by $279. This whole process took me 1/2 a day. When I finally got to speak to a manager they accepted no responsibility. Hotels.com ended up apologizing that I had a bad experience and gave me a $100 credit but Watersound never took any responsibility.
