Super 8 Fort Nelson BC

This is a very nice hotel with breakfast included in the stay. The rooms were clean and comfortable, the staff was friendly and the location was perfect for our needs. Plenty of lighted parking and all the conveniences. A great deal for the price.

Definitely a step up from my previous stays at the other hotel in town The Woodlands where the hot tub hasn't worked for years, No breakfast with the room..very dull ambiance,The room coffee machine was beside the potty in the toilet !!! Would surely recommend the Super 8 if you're visiting Fort nelson.

Clean, good water pressure, comfortable bed, decent sized room. Friendly staff at check in. The hotel was largely empty but we were still put right next door to other guests. It was nice that they had a fitness room at all but it wasn't terribly inviting. Breakfast was a bit lacklustre although they did offer warm food, eggs and sausage plus a waffle iron. Fine for an overnight when you are on a road trip.

Stopped coming and going to the Yukon. The room was clean and pretty quiet. Breakfast going up was OK but on the second stay, the eggs seemed like they were powdered or instant. Otherwise OK - nothing special.

We really enjoyed our stay here and we're really impressed when entering and seeing a dishwasher in the room. This was a first for us. The breakfast was really good as well, I would certainly stay here again . It was nice to be able to walk to the bps that was right in front of the hotel.

We came in late off of the highway otherwise we would've gotten one of the motel rooms on the ground level, that would've been perfect. Room was clean and worked well for our crew. The Hot breakfast was great, the kids loved helping to make their own waffles and there was something for everyone. The highlight for our four boys of course was the pool and water slide. Pool and change rooms are laid out well and were nice and clean. We will definitely be staying here again.

We were a large family staying in several rooms. Pluses... friendly staff, good location, nice pool/waterside/hot tub area for families, comfortable beds. Minuses.... limited breakfast options for included breakfast. We were there 3 days and never changed. Waffles were good though. There was yogurt for a healthier option. Open 5-10 for breakie so nice times. There is a good restaurant just steps away so that was a plus as well. Minuses...Improvement is needed on cleaning throughout the hotel. Especially the tiled flooring in rooms and the window/glass door areas in hotel. There were a lot of dusty surfaces in room too almost as if they'd been empty for quite a while. All in all it was a good stay and served its purpose. If the cleanliness improved I would definitely return.

While one doesn't expect much from a Super 8, this one seems to have built it's business model on taking advantage of people who do not pay close attention to what is on the bill. When you check-in they have you sign to accept your room rate and several "if you use" fees-- but do not specifically tell you that you need to ask for those charges to be removed from your bill when you checkout. (It may have been in the fine print, but you don't really have the time to read it all at the counter with people in line behind you.) If you don't look closely at checkout, and specifically ask for the charges to be taken off you'll be charged. If you do what most people do-- simply tell them you're leaving and have the receipt emailed, you'll be automatically charged for them. So-- if you do end up here, be sure to ask for a paper copy of your bill, and be sure to tell them to remove the "Safe fee" and the "Sustainability Fee." Otherwise you'll be on the hook for an extra $5 per night. Not a lot of money, but it is the principal of the thing-- $5 per room per night is a hefty bit of profit. Additionally, they take a hold of almost twice the room rate when you check in, which is excessive. Not a problem for us, as it was on a credit card; but be aware of that if you're using a debit card. As for the room-- it smelled badly of mold. That may be because it was August and we had to use the air conditioner, but still-- very uncomfortable. Everything in the room was old and had seen better days. The couldn't even be bothered to provide individual shampoo bottles-- there was a large bottle in the shower that had been there for an unknown period. Breakfast was equally lame, with two milk pitchers of unknown type and age set out. Granted this is Fort Nelson, BC-- but there were several other hotels along the strip. We picked this one because it got (very much undeserved in my opinion) top reviews. Any other one would probably be better-- if just because its business model is likely not designed to sneak in extra fees if you're not paying close attention.

We stopped here for the night on our way to Anchorage Alaska. Rooms were ok, but had a strange odor inside. We had to crack the backdoor open to air the room out. I did like that you could park your vehicle directly in front of your exterior door. The waterslide in the pool area was awesome (the kids loved it), but the hot tub wasn't working. We arrived a little later than expected and only had 30 minutes to enjoy the waterslide. I did ask the front desk if there was anyway we could get a 30 minute extension on the pool, but I was quickly denied. Breakfast was good and the attendant was friendly. I mainly chose this hotel for the waterslide, in hopes of enjoying it after a 14 hour drive across Canada. If there is a next time, I'll be sure to arrive early to actually enjoy it.

On our way. back on a 6 week motorcycle trip. Greeted at the front door, lots of helpful answers and told us about restaurants , bike wash, and Jim the Mgr👍🏽. He met with the 5 of us the next morning, showed us where the fires were on our routes. The staff were all friendly and helpful even getting fresh towels for bike wash. We would definitely stay again, clean and love ❤️ the beds and pillows. Thank you, Goldielocks and the 4 bears
