Super 8 Fort Nelson BC2.0 out of 5.0

My husband and I had a good stay at this Super 8. We were greeted warmly upon arrival and our room was spacious, clean and comfortable. It was quiet and had excellent internet and TV was fine. The bed was comfortable and the shower had plenty of hot water and good pressure. Breakfast had little variety-no fruit- but did have the usual waffles, a couple of cereals and sausage and bacon, I think. This Super 8 and the one in Fort St John are the best ones that I've ever been to. The pet fee runs $25.00 per day. Wish you would change to a better coffee, though.
I cannot speak highly enough about the staff at this Super 8. Yes, the rooms are comfy and always clean and the free breakfast is a super bonus and that pool is spectacular but most importantly the people who keep this huge place running are absolutely the most helpful and genuinely the kindest and most compassionate people you will ever meet. They literally saved my Father's life. My Father Jack has traveled the Al-Can Highway from the Lower 48 to Alaska and then back again every year for the last 30 years. He has stayed at this fine place over a dozen times. He always knows he will get a very clean room, a great nights sleep and a yummy breakfast before he heads back out on the road. This particular trip (April 18th, 2017) Jack was driving a truck and trailer up to his mining claim in Alaska. He spoke with the GM Jim as well as Katie (housekeeping) and Gurmeet (front desk) on the evening he stayed there. He told them he was headed out the next morning but that he just didn't feel well and was hoping to get a bite to eat. They went and got him a snack and he bid them goodnight. The next morning Jim noticed his rig still there........long story shorter - Jim called my Dad's room...knocked on the door....no answer so they went in and found my Father..alive...but had suffered a stroke. They called the ambulance and my Dad was eventually flown out to Kelowna that night. It goes without saying....If Jim and Katie and Gurmeet had not been genuinely concerned or at the very least interested in the welfare of a guest .....he would have died. Happy ending.....Jim and his staff continue to help our family. Jack has made a miraculous recovery and is working on getting his strength back because he can hardly wait to go back to Fort Nelson and finish his drive North. Yes....this Super 8 is FANTASTIC! It is because the people who work here are of the highest caliber...and they prove it. Everyday.
One of the best hotels. Big comfortable rooms, friendly staff, tomorrow morning will try complimentary breakfast. We parked our car outside of the room and can come to our room from parking spot, as well as to hallway and breakfast area. I think it's cool.
Was a great stay, the room was very clean with a nice, big TV. There is a huge water slide that is really fun to use. My friend injured himself, and the manager drove all the way to the pharmacy to get a clotting agent to ensure that he would be alright. They also allowed us to check-out 3 hours late. Very good service, probably the best we had driving from Ontario to Fort Nelson.
Long story short. A fire extinguisher went off in the canopy of my work truck on our way to Fort Nelson. After checking into the hotel and telling the staff what happened, the general manager offered to help us out. They provided us with a shop vacuum and offered to wash some of our items that got dirty. Best service and have gone above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable.
Hard time to check in . Staff very unfriendly. Dirty room no bathroom amenities soap shampoo dirty sock in night stand would not recommend this hotel I can't get over how rude the lady at the front desk was I will definitely be writing to the head office of super 8 after 9 hours of travel to have the hassle of the check in process was very frustrating.
I was in the hotel only to stay overnight before camp. Front desk staff was friendly enough and helpful with any question I had since I had never been in the area. Rooms were clean and cozy as well as convenient for the amount of bags I had. I even got a deal on meals at the neighboring Boston Pizza.
Perhaps it is my fault for not indicating I did not want a safe deposit box; however, I feel that if I didn't specifically ASK FOR IT, I should not be charged for it. They were gracious enough to credit my visa back when I asked about it. This policy should be changed to "IF I ASK FOR IT, I WILL BE CHARGED". I have stayed at this hotel before and did not experience problems with the internet; however during this lengthy stay, the internet was not good. I was constantly being kicked off the internet when I was using it. I liked the full sized fridge and stove.
Hotel was great. Pool, breakfast, rooms were good. We were part of a hockey tournament in Fort Nelson in which the hotel was completely full. Management made the POOR decision to not schedule additional staff on the Friday night check in. The service we received from Tiffany, the employee working was fantastic. She was run off her feet. Imagine checking in an entire hotel in a 4-5 hour window! And the management didn't have the insight to see how busy this would be?? There were a few issues upon check-in that would come from a hotel room not being used very often. (given the current local economy, this is understandable) There was mould growing in the fridge in our room. TIffany assured us she would try to find someone who hadn't left already for the day to clean it and if not, she would clean it herself. Everyone had left for the day and she (between checking all the other guests in) ran up to our room to make sure it was cleaned out for us. Again, to the Management of this hotel. Terrible executive decision you made to try and save on your payroll expenses by short-staffing on a sell out night!
Check in was easy. Room was clean. Nice and quite throughout hotel. Staff were helpful and pleasent. Will stay here again when coming back to Fort Nelson.
