This is a great hotel conveniently located on the beach. It has a nice pool as well! My stay was quiet and comfortable, just what I was looking for. My room had a full kitchen which was unexpected, but convenient for breakfast and lunch. There was a nice choice of restaurants that were close by, although a rental car is a MUST.

Very very nice hotel. We are planning to come back to stay this hotel next year. The room is very clean, the facility is clean and very quiet. We enjoyed ourselves very much. What a gem! Plenty of amenities, huge clean pool with nice chairs and umbrella. The Gorgeous beach with chairs and umbrella. The kayaks and bikes are available. Vey very nice stayed we experience.

Great staff, great parking, and super close to the beach. All the bikes, kayak, and paddle boards are included. Breakfast included was great. Bring bug spray since this is an island there were lots of bugs on the beaches. But the hotel is great.

The staff was very nice and we really enjoyed the beach! The morning breakfast basket was a nice touch!

I had the opportunity to stay here in early December 2015. My purpose was to find a seaside escape. The room was dirty. The carpets were stained. The bedding was stained. Yet the most horrible part was that during my three night stay the rooms beside me and above me were being renovated. The noise was unbearable and the management promised to make a concession because of it. They never did, nor did they return numerous calls afterwards. I would never recommend this lodging.

We have been staying here for the last 5 years. The staff is great and the amenities are well worth the money spent. This is a wonderful place to get away from the daily hustle and to just relax. The rooms seem to need a little TLC but the beds are always nice and clean as well as the bathroom. I was happy to see that some of the rooms were being recarpeted while we were there.

Staff was very accommodating - I arrived at 1am and asked to change my room. The first one had kind of a musty odor - probably from the A/C. The second one was much better but I noticed the A/C looked like it might need cleaning - you could see some corrosion or moisture damage - I am not an expert on this, and suspect that A/Cs in many coastal hotels have this problem. The price was good, location was fine - great beach (but then Sanibel is wonderful) and the staff consistently pleasant and helpful. I do wish the breakfast - which is generous - something without sugar/refined flour, besides the apples. That said, I am kind of a health nut. For birders - there were 2 pileated woodpeckers that hung out on either the palm trees or the bushes. What a treat!

room a/c not cool enough, microwave rusted out ,frig rusted and leaking water, stove burners not level. moved micro and conter was discussting, had never been cleaned under.porch/ balcony has no privacy, only screen between next room.not worth the money, go to west wind resort only 300 yards west ,only 25 dollars more per night but excellant property.we will not stay here again. rooms need major renovations.make sure to read the small print for early check out,you will be charged the full amount of your booking.to much paperwork at sign in.

We booked a superior ocean view room on the top floor. But I'm not sure we got the superior view. We got a nice view of the Pool but seems like a sideways partial and more distant view of the ocean. There are two parts to the building. We were in the back part hence a less than superior view. There should be a building schematic online when booking so you see the exact room you are getting. The free breakfast was a nice touch. The only other minus was the nightly attack of the NoSeeUms bugs but you'd get that no matter where you stay on Sanibel. Bring your own insect repellent for sure. Buy your groceries in Fort Myers before you pay the six dollar toll to get on the island. The pool was awesome and we would stay here again but with the ocean view room assignment clarity.

We very much enjoyed staying here, the price was well worth the private beach and the staff. We had a very easy check in and had all we needed for our week long vacation. We got married on the beach and everyone was fantastic! We will be going back at least once a year and staying here. The only issue we had was the sand, but how can you get away from that?! The staff always had plenty of towels and swept the room daily.

Great location, great staff, great beach! Pair of Manatees cruised the beach and we saw dolphins every day! We love Sanibel and enjoyed our stay.

The room size and features exceeded my expectations. My only complaint is that check in was listed as 4:00, and I couldn't get into my room until almost 5:00. Free breakfast was just ok. Beach furniture and free bicycle use were too great perks.

Don't expect an early check in, when they tell you 4 pm they mean it, we didn't get our room until 4.05 pm, It's possible they didn't finish cleaning ALL the rooms till exactly 4 pm, since the room was not that clean. They do use an enormous amount of spray if you suffer from asthma be prepared. Extremely poor breakfast, no strawberry jam (was on order) only one kind available and nothing was fresh and to top that we got staff attitude. And although the breakfast area was set up and several guests waiting holding the tray you have to bring from your room, don't you dare try to cross over the trash container with a sign stating breakfast starts at 7.30 . I understand there needs to be rules, however we have stayed in many different places and they always try to accommodate guests, don't expect it from this place. Will not stay There again.

This was our second time staying at the inn. Had a very comfortable room on the 2nd floor with great views. Being just a few steps from the beach is a plus along with the heated pool. We did not take advantage of the free bikes this time as the weather was so nice we spent most of the time at the beach and in the pool. The only negative thing, and it's a small issue, is that we were provided one small bar of soap and one small shampoo and were not provided additional unless we asked. We will likely stay at the Sunset Beach Inn on our next trip. The overall value for the money is the best I have found

I stayed here as an impromtu third night on island after staying somewhere else. Unfortunately the other inn did not have any available rooms. I found It and read reviews so I said "why not?". On the up side they let me check in early which was welcomed because average check out time is 11am and check in was 4pm. Otherwise the room was old and dirty. It smelled musty and had black mold and dust in the AC unit. There was sand in the bed and black mold on the cabinet units. Good thing I brought Clorox wipes. My room #108 was in an awkward place jutting out from the rest of the inn. My understanding is that the other rooms are decent. This room stunk. The bikes are free but older. The pool is nice and the free umbrellas are nice. I would stay here again but not in the room I was in. I wouldn't even pay $50 for that room

Staff was very friendly and accommodating beach was amazing with tons of shells!

Very nice and clean. The hotel is right on the beach. During the day the hotel puts out beach umbrellas, excellent for laying about. We also enjoyed the daily continental breakfast.

My wife, son and daughter, spent 5 nights at this hotel this month and over all it is a nice place. It is a standard place with no bells and whistles, but for the price and location to the beach, it was fine. The breakfest served every morning wasn't a buffet feast, but okay for the value of the price paid. The downside is the present of bed bugs or the pest known on the island as "no see them" If our bites were the results of those critters, then everywhere in the area is effected, so one must beware and wear good bug repellant. I asked about bed bugs and was told that this hotel hadn't had that problem in over 8 years. So, if that is true, our bites came from something. So, was it "no see them"? Overall. minus the bug bites I liked the place

The hotel itself was average. We had an extremely small room with no view of the water...unless you leaned far into the left. The beach itself was completely eroded and we had the misfortune of being there during red tide. The hotel staff was tremendous from directions to the lighthouse which was worth the trip to bringing a new microwave on her own. The place is probably nice if you get a screened patio and a view of the water. Hopefully the county will restore the beach.

it was very comfortable and relaxing, the staff was very friendly and helpful.
