Beautiful beach with lounge chairs and umbrellas Bikes included Lovely breakfast included Rooms nice size and clean Pool area very nice

Decided to come back to sanibel for our anniversary. Picked Song of the Sea because of its small size and less expensive resort fees. We enjoyed the complimentary breakfast but wish more indoor seating had been available to compensate for a rainy morning. The staff was friendly and talkative when asked questions about the island. All rooms have tile floors, which is nice when there's sand but, the deep grout lines looked liked they trapped more dirt than housekeeping could keep up with. Also in need of updating are the lumpy bumpy mattresses! While in sanibel we enjoyed a delicious meal at The Island Cow! Don't miss this eatery!

Awesome staff....friendly...very helpful. Cozy room...great mattress on bed. A bit of a walk to the ocean but pleasant scenery on the way )

Just got back from our stay in Sanibel, people were GREAT, room was clean and comfortable, beachfront, with lounges and umbrellas, fantastic beach area. Sand rinsing showers when returning from beach, and the most accommodating staff. Ready to book our return trip for next year!

Hotel was outstanding. Service and staff were great. Walked right out our door to beach and pool. Will definitely go back to Song of the Sea.

The hotel is very nice. Right on the beach. Staff was excellent to us. The rooms were really comfortable. Never tried out the bicycles but there were many available at all times. The continental breakfast was very good. Would stay there again.

Really enjoyed thia stay. The condo was real nice. Housekeeping was a little slower here but still did a good job. Great view of the ocean. Staff was excellent. Would stay here again. :)

The price is a bit higher than some other hotels on the island but the location is good and it has a smaller more intimate feel. Enjoyed watching the thunder storms out on the gulf from our screened patio at night. Very relaxing.

Everything about this place was wonderful! We will continue to go back there and will be recommending it to everyone we know!

Very nice except for pool heater being broken for two days. Staff were unaware.

Stayed for a week, great room and view, friendly staff, free bikes, beach chairs and towels, great breakfast, nice pool and hot tub. A small resort, not crowded or lots of noisy kids running around. You could relax by the pool, or it's a short walk to the beach. Quick to get to off the causeway, and not far from many restaurants. There is also a great tiki bar next door, however, we don't recommend eating at the hotel restaurant next door.

Everything was great, from the time we arrived to the time we had to leave. Really enjoyed the breakfast which consisted of waffles, fresh cut pineapple and strawberries, fresh juices, bagels, variety of Danish, cereal, coffee, tea, hard boiled eggs and more. My wife told me it was the most relaxed she has ever seen me on a vacation! Highly recommended. We enjoyed getting up at sunrise and walking along the beach. Many, many shells. Saw starfish, horseshoe crabs, sand dollars, sea urchins, porpoise and much more! Enjoyed miles of bike riding with the bikes that were provided, at no extra charge.Grilled out several times with the grill that was available for anyone's use. Enjoyed several places for dinning, many of the local shops, the Bailey-Matthews shell museum and the J.N. "Ding" Darling national wildlife refuge. The many shore birds are incredible. Very entertaining watching them run up and down the shoreline and away from the waves coming in. Looking forward to our next visit there.

Can't ask for better location or amenities for a couple to get away and just enjoy one another Staff is attentive but discrete

My wife and I wanted relaxation and an opportunity to collect shells. This small property has a nice pool and spa area and a short boardwalk to a wide, shell-strewn, Gulf Coast beach. Umbrellas and chairs are first-come, first-served and are not quite enough to accommodate demand. Continental breakfast gets a B+ (a little light on the fresh fruit). Rooms are old in sort of a "faded Tommy Bahama meets summer camp" fashion. Good WiFi strength in room (free). Mattress, pillows, and sheets were Five Star Fabulous, but the king bed was tightly wedged into a bedroom built for a double (or bunks). Sister property next door provides restaurant (B+ food, C+ atmosphere, B- service) and outdoor Tiki bar (B, B-, B). Innkeeper Cheryl is the star that shines brightly enough to help you ignore the short-comings in service and amenities. If you want rest, it's an A+. If you're looking for sparkle, action, nightlife, etc., keep looking. We' ll go back for peace and quiet.

It was wonderful from the moment we arrived and Natalie checked us in and gave us a dining guide with suggestions for various types of restaurants on the island. Our room was so lovely, the decor was beautiful! The bed and bedding was truly one of the most comfortable beds we have ever slept in! The Innkeeper Cheryl was delightful to chat with each morning while we enjoyed the continental breakfast, she would show genuine interest in our plans for the day and what adventures we had experienced the day before. The grounds were lovely and there were bikes for us to use to ride on the bike trails throughout the island. We enjoyed searching for shells on the beach as well as relaxing on the lounge chairs provided for our use on the lovely beach. all in all it was sch a relaxing vacation and we will definitely be returning and recommending Song of the Sea to family and friends.

Everyone was very helpful and acomidating the hotel was very well kept. I enjoyed the casual atmosphere with class

Great place to spend a quiet trip to Sanibel Island. Everything was great when we first opened the door and Cheryl was there to greet us. The property was beautifully maintained and clean. Our room was a little outdated, but very clean and plenty of clean towels. One of the beds was a little lumpy but we spent so much time on the gorgeous beach that it didn't matter too much. Breakfast was plentiful and fresh each day. From housekeeping to grounds workers everyone was pleasant and helpful. The restaurant in the property next door was very good. We enjoyed one meal there where there was a wedding reception was going on. We chose Song of the Sea because it was one of the smaller hotel/resorts on the Island. It was very quiet and peaceful. We met so many other happy travelers around the pool each evening.

good for shell collection. perfect to relax on the beach, great weather.friendly people.

Quite, beautiful location, perfect to get away from it all. Comfortable, clean accommodations, not the Ritz but perfect for your beach get away. Would definitely come back again. Highly recommend for couples looking to reconnect and relax.

Our first trip to Sanibel Island but not our last. True, Mother Nature had a hand in our perfect but all too short stay. Weather could not have been better. But we would say the same about Song of the Sea. We received a very good price from Ortiz so we felt this was a good value. The bikes may be old but they worked well. We loved the fact that beach chairs and umbrellas were placed on this great section of the beach each morning. The small kitchenette suited our needs. The complimentary breakfast did the same. The only negative, a dresser to put our clothes would be nice. The staff was amazing. Very helpful. We are already talking about returning and we wouldn't hesitate to stay at Song of the Sea.
