We stayed several days at The Residence Inn in Fort Myers. Our room was a good size & clean. The front desk, housekeeping & other staff we interacted with were all friendly & helpful. The evening snack offerings were a nice touch (Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday I believe). The outdoor pool was a bit dirty when we were there. We had a car rental & there were nearby places you could drive to such as Walmart, and a variety of restaurants.
This is a convenient location. Don't go for peace and quiet as you are close to Colonial which carries a lot of traffic and you get a lot of small aircraft flying overhead. But the rooms are recently renovated...very nice. The staff was very friendly. Check in was quick and efficient. The breakfast was typical, but everything was well-stocked and fresh, and they came around often to re-stock, clean tables, etc. There are many restaurants nearby and downtown is about a 10 minute car ride, $15 Uber.
We have stayed at this Residence Inn several times. Some things since this Inn has been renovated are better and some not. The rooms are better and clean, but the breakfast area is still too small and there is not enough room to sit all guest. It is even worse on the nights they do an evening social for guests. They close off part of the limited seating they have and there is less seating available. There is not enough room to seat guest during these events. Breakfast is not up to the standards of other Residence Inns we have stayed at. The only business computer is in the breakfast area with no privacy and should be moved. This is an example of poor planning during the renovation of this hotel. After staying there for many years we will need to find another hotel when we are in this area.
Although it is on a busy highway it was quite. Had a 1 bedroom suite on the first floor(near the side door). This made very it easy to take out dog out . The only draw back is that the bathroom. You have to get to it via the bedroom. If someone was using the sofa bed they would wake up the party in the bedroom.Staff at front desk was very helpful and friendly( Yordy, Amanda & Michaela). Breakfast was good. The social hour was ok. Housekeeping did a great job and was very friendly. Would always ask if you needed anything they could help with could help with. Would stay again.
I stayed at this hotel for this Christmas holidays. Overall, this hotel is a good place to day. The reason I gave it a three was the following: - Found receipt in the room from October 2017 in the couch (this receipt was not mine) - Food was not the greatest (it is free - but I have had better at other Residence Inn locations. - Trash was not removed one day (thought that was strange) Otherwise, it was good.
The hotel has recently completed an update, and the rooms and hallways are fresh, clean and inviting. Both front desk agents Heather and Jorge are friendly and helpful and are a credit to the hotel. I was a bit surprised, however, that the shower became incredibly slippery after soap got on the surface -- a detail which the management like to address.
This Residence Inn is doing a renovation so the rating is lower than it should be. What they have done is great. New carpeting, wall paper, paint etc. The front desk staff were great and it is in a good location.
The property is worn down. It needs new beds, and is in need of maintenance such as toilets run forever, faucet leaks and such. I get it's in a vacation destination but a little work would go along way. Staff is friendly.
Stayed with the family over spring break in a two bedroom suite. Nice, clean & friendly staff. They also have a decent full breakfast i.e. Scrambled eggs, bagels, cereal, waffles etc....location is ok if you want to explore the Ft. Myers area but not so great if you want to hang out by the beach. Then trying to find cheap parking by the beach is a pain. The drive to the beach thru the traffic was on average 30/40 minutes. Next to a gas station, 7 eleven & fast food places across the street. The pool is very small and never saw anyone using it. Bad water pressure and when I asked about it but they said there was nothing they could do to fix it. I suspect this place attracts a lot of business travelers. If this hotel was right by the beach then I'd give it a 5. I have to deduct for location, pool size, water pressure & a little wear and tear on the living room furniture.
Great stay! I will be back to the area a few more times in the coming weeks and will definitely stay here. The staff was very courteous and friendly. Breakfast was great and I really enjoyed the evening managers receptions (socials). The room was very spacious, I liked having a separate living area from my bedroom in the fully furnished kitchen. Good amenities as well--pool, fitness center, fire pits, and basketball court (hope to use it next trip). LOVE the grocery shopping service concept, will definitely be using that next trip.
