Very nice, quiet location. Clean rooms, wonderful buffet breakfast. Fantastic staff. Nice quiet pool. Shuttle service to and from Florence multiple times during the day. Happily recommended for a couples get away.
This is definitely a gorgeous place! Very spacious rooms, with great view, nice and beautiful furniture, paintings on the walls, some of them really works of art. A marvelous garden! The pool is okay, clean and decently sized, towels available and a nice garden surrounding the place. The breakfast is served in the garden, very nice view and enough choices for every one. The restaurant has a good chef! We had dinner there and every thing was perfect, the food, the serving, the wine! There are some minuses. First the beds are noisy. If try to get off the bed(the beds are high, approx 50-60 cm) you'll have noises like in a horror movie. There are tiger mosquitos in the garden, and they bite even during daytime in the afternoon. I was a favored victim so I bought some spray, Autan or something. At breakfast we asked for sunny side up eggs (they only have the same type of scrambled eggs every morning) and they told us we needed to pay! Which is below the standards for such a place. Moreover, the lady that served there started talking with the waiter about us using offending language. Unfortunately for her, we understand 80% of spoken Italian. Unpleasant! We intended to complain to the manager but since was week end, he was not there and they gave us his contact details. However, I must say that when I'm back in Florence, this is the place to stay, I'll gladly return here!
We arrived late one evening from the airport which is about a Thirty-Five minute drive. A taxi was around Forty Euros if I could remember correctly. Aldo, the Conceirge was there to great us and gave us a lot of information about the hotel and surrounding areas. We informed him of an excursion we had planned early the next morning, and he made sure we had a packed lunch and taxi waiting for us in the morning. He also went above and beyond to help us plan museum trips, as well as arranged a private driver to take us to wine country. He is amazing at his job! the rooms were cleaned very well and the grounds were gorgeous. It is a beautiful hotel just outside the hussle and bussle of Florence. The hotel does offer a shuttle to take you to downtown Florence, or actually just a few blocks out; so make sure to prebook your time(s) of arrival/pick up. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to visit Florence but doesn't want to stay in the downtown area.
We stayed at the Villa Olmi for 5 nights at the end of Aug/Beginning of September. Prior to arriving, I had been emailing with the concierge team regarding what we wanted to do/see during our trip. Over 20 emails later, we were very excited about our trip as their concierge team, mainly, Aldo and front desk team, Alessandro organised our transfers, car hire and trips. As we were travelling with 2 babies (3months and 6 months) in our group of 4, the Villa Olmi team were very accommodating and eased any doubts we had. When we arrived, they service was even better. They ensured we had great rooms, and felt at home. The staff were so great with the babies and we automatically knew we were staying at a great place. The recommendations for dinner, wine tasting and visits to local villages were exactly what we wanted and you would not find those treasures in any guide book! We were blown away by the places we saw. On our final day, we were told about the hotel and even visited some of their lovely parts that you would not normally see! If you stay there, ask the staff about where to go and you will be amazed by the history and beauty. The shuttle buses to town were easy to get onto and the pick up on the way back! A truely amazing hotel and it was made as such due to the Villa Olmi staff and special mention to Aldo! We will be back!
It is my second time here. There are very nice and helpful staffs. I had got upgraded to the room with a yard but I preferred the room in the villa. Nice breakfast with many kinds of connetti alla crema. But i miss the old table service they ever used it 2 years ago. The new one are more simple. It was one perfect week here. During assumption week, many restaurants and shops in city center are closed
Beautiful rooms, friendly staff and lots of space. Lovely grounds to walk around in of an evening as well as lots of parking, outdoor pool (loungers limited in number although most days this wasn't an issue there are always some people who reserved them before breakfast and appeared around lunch time!) and great food! I'm gluten free and had no issues. They were accommodating at breakfast and in the restaurant at dinner and really helpful. They would do GF bread at breakfast as well as a basket of GF cakes and a huge selection of cooked food, fruit and continental breakfast items. They would also modify pasta dishes to use GF pasta as well. One of the best features of the hotel is the space. We were in a separate building (normal room) which had its own parking spaces, roomy bedroom and bathroom as well as a landing and whole downstairs area full of sofas and areas to relax in, very few other guests used this so if was like having a huge house! The overall loss of a star was simply because the walls were a little thin and we did get disturbed by some noisy neighbours as a result, as well as the staff doing their morning rounds. The hotel is a couple of miles outside the centre so also runs a free shuttle into the centre of Florence 6 times a day, 3 Morning slots and 3 evening slots - be sure to book though as it does get full! Overall a wonderful stay, thank you so much to the staff who made it so pleasant.
Very good hotel with amazing garden and old villa. Service and cleaning can be better. A lot of guest in August - there is no possibility of using the swimming pool. Restaurant in hotel very tasty, highly recommended.
We visited here at the end of our honeymoon and was by far the best hotel we had stayed out during our 3 week travels. The room was beautiful and the jacuzzi bath is a good addition. The pool area and grounds are beautiful with fresh towels provided for when you want a dip in the pool. The free shuttle bus into Florence is an added extra which we made use of and was a stress free alternative to parking in the centre. We didn't eat at the hotel in the evening as we found a lovely restaurant in Bagno, but the menu looked good and breakfast was perfect; a big selection of all sorts. Our only regret is that we were only here for 2 nights- we could have very happily stayed longer. We shall be returning for sure.
We stayed at Villa Olmi in August 2017 and found it to be absolutely outstanding. From our arrival the staff were courteous and really helpful (thanks for arranging all the restaurants and tours!), with the decor being tasteful and understated. The food was of a very-standard, with the Tuscan bread and tomato soup as well as pasta dishes being particularly enjoyable. One slight improvement would have been a constantly altered menu, as we were there for 10 days, so I munched my way through many things on the menu-was very good though! The location is also excellent, being only about a 10 minute car-ride from the Old Town of Florence, so really useful. The cocktail barman was also a bit of a legend, ask for his "Aperol Sour"-lime, mint and Aperol: so good! All in all, an excellent hotel with brilliant staff, good location and fine food:)
One of the most amazing hotels in which I have ever stayed. Great location just outside Florence (but with a free shuttle bus service into the city). Jaw-droppingly beautiful, unbelievable rooms and bathrooms, an incredible outdoor pool and garden area, a wonderful restaurant, fantastically attentive and polite staff... I could go on. Staff had gone to huge lengths to help celebrate my girlfriend's birthday as well which was enormously appreciated. One of my favourite hotels ever.
