Just on the way home from a pleasant 4 night stay here. The staff at Vila Olmi were all wonderful. Nearly always smiling and happy to help, from the management, down to the bell boy. The room itself was just what you would expect for the money we paid, and the jacuzzi bath was an unexpected extra. The grounds are pretty, as are the communal areas, and the breakfast was simply superb. There are a couple of things that I must mention.... the WiFi is awful, plain and simple! The hotel supply a nice mobile for you to use whilst there and even that doesn’t get the WiFi!! 4g signal is good though so not too much of a bother. The second point is that we suffered from loud and unruly behaviour from other guests all but one night. Last night for example, we were woken by guests screaming and laughing at 2am - we had to be up at 6am so wasn’t best pleased as you can imagine. The walls are super thin so it can be a bit of a lottery as to what type of guests are near you and how deep you sleep! All in all though a lovely hotel and we would return. Ciao !
i just spent a transporting week in the early 19th century Villa Mozzi part of the hotel. i awoke to the painted ceiling and extraordinarily grand Murano chandelier, at least twenty feet above the bed. Walking through the arched hallway lined with antique busts to breakfast was magical. I felt like a Baronessa throughout my stay-- it's romantic, easily accessible to Florence, and with gorgeous grounds, as well.
This hotel is located in a place that seems like an antique farm and is located 15 minutes by car from the centre of Florence. A good and quiet place to stay if you want to explore Tuscany. To visit the city it is better to leave the car at the hotel, as parking is difficult and expensive.
We stayed in the main hotel. It is in the country and they provide a shuttle into Florence. We enjoyed the quiet atmosphere after a hard day of touring. We stayed four days. The room was 4 stars. Neat, clean and well cared for. The staff was excellent, very friendly and attentive. Aldo, the concierge was wonderful, asking us about our plans and offering suggestions, all of which were helpful and enjoyable..
Discovered it by chance - and it is a real villa oasis, quiet and well equipped; clean, modern and yet a touch of old-class. Great garden to enjoy lunch. Definitely recommendable to all - much space and green.
This was an unexpected super nice hotel! We stayed there with our two little kids and we had a great time. The staff was extremely nice. There is a free shuttle service to downtown, although the 45 minute walk was nice. The fitness room was good for a quick workout after the filling breakfast or the free small box of chocolates given to welcome you.
We've stayed for 3 nights at this place and from the beginning on we felt welcome. Great staff especially Aldo the concierge who recommended us magnificent places to visit. Great rooms and great food. Simply to recommend!
My friend and I stayed at Villa Olmi for almost three weeks. Every detail of our stay was tended to by all of the staff, with such excellent service! The concierge, Aldo, made being a tourist in the area very easy. He helped us with all of our travel, during and future arrangements. The hotel is deserving of a museum, with the beautiful artwork and furnushings! The rooms were very clean and beautifully decorated. The meals were of high quality, and the service excellent! The hotel is on the outskirt of Florence, very quiet, and daily transportation was provided by the hotel into Florence. Thanks Villa Olmi staff for a very memorable vacation! A great hotel for a nightly, or extended stay!
This hotel, located on the outskirts of Florence, is very nice from the outside, the lobby, the vast gardens. It is generally quiet. The outdoor pool is of modest size but nicely appointed. Staff is competent and courteous. As I walked into my room (#114), I noticed it was rather spacious and nicely appointed but, being located on the ground floor and rather exposed to view, it only had one highly placed window and another with opaque glass: not ideal for light and aeration. The Wi-Fi in this room is very weak, frequently stopping altogether for several minutes, which was infuriating! Avoid it absolutely if you need a stable connection for business or even entertainment purposes. The bathroom is spacious as well, albeit with the same lighting and aeration problems as described above. The door does not want to stay open and always tries to close, which is painful as it must be blocked with the bathroom floor mat. A full-size mirror is conspicuously absent from this room, which will be an issue, especially for the ladies. The bathroom products are of good quality, but in apparently limited supply: no more than one shower a day, otherwise be prepared to save on the shower gel! The heating/air conditioning system produces a loud rumbling which is permanent and very disturbing: earplugs highly recommended! Breakfast is good, although the selection is not overly plentiful. The scrambled eggs are very tasty and the bacon is nicely cooked, but niceties such as smoked salmon are nowhere in sight. In conclusion, Room 114 is probably a cheaper one, given to guests on reduced/negotiated corporate rates. It is not to be recommended. Other rooms may be more satisfactory. One final word: it happens more and more often that hotel and restaurant ownersand/or managers see fit to respond to reviews posted by their clients. Just remember, when you read those responses, that such owners/managers have a vested interest in selling you their services, where I have no vested interest whatsoever in expressing the personal and objective viewpoints expressed in this review.
Wowsa. Just a perfect hotel!! The rooms are huge!! The service amazing! Food delicious. We rented a car to take us to Tuscany and they arranged everything and we received the BEST treatment at the wineries visited because of the hotel calling ahead. The arrangements to get to Florence worked out perfectly. And I loved being out of the hustle bustle to truly relax in a luxury experience!!
