As a couple we decided to pop in for a late dinner. The service and food was sensational and after dinner we were escorted to their rooftop bar with some stunning views over the whole city. It was our first day in Florence and we will be certain to go back before we leave.
This lovely hotel was wonderful! The staff was amazing in very way. The concierge guided us to the best restaurants, tours, rental car and day trip options. Our room was perfect, the lobby was so beautiful and the river view from our room was charming. The location was ideal for walking to so many special sights. Breakfast was extravagant and we had excellent table side service!
one of the best historical classic hotels in Europe. efficient check-in and friendly staff. Liked the lobby and rooms with balconies. the hotel is walking distance to main attractions. rent a car request was quickly fulfilled by the concierge. recommended especially if you can find reasonable rates
We stayed at the Westin Excelsior in January. Since we are SPG platinum, we were upgraded to the presidential suite with complimentary breakfast. I cannot rave enough about this hotel, it’s location and beauty, and the tremendous staff. Last year, I stayed at the St Regis, and honestly I think the Westin surpasses the St Regis in Florence.
Very beautiful hotel, I had such a pleasant experience. The room was very big and renaissance decor, the terrace is a dream. I stay here with my parents but then I came back to the bar in the terrace thousand times with my friends . Food is very good but the view is the best part of all
Stayed here for 4 nights and got the Arno view room. To be honest, we barely looked out the window as we were outside and not in the room all day long, and it's not really a balcony or terrace, it's more of a floor to ceiling French door window with a railing, also we had to ask the front desk to come unlock it,BUT, the bathroom was very large, double sinks and quite nice and clean, the room was standard, well appointed for a higher end Westin. All this to say that if you want a huge bathroom go with the Arno view, not sure if other rooms have the same size bathroom. Excellent location - walked Everywhere, very friendly and accommodating staff & concierge, Michelin mentioned restaurant and lounge on the rooftop with awing 360 degree views.I'd stay there again and highly recommend it.
Staying in this hotel was an extremely pleasant experience. Our room was spacious and convenient. The closet space was some of the best (i.e., large) that we have had in a long time. The breakfast was excellent! The staff couldn't have been more cheerful and helpful. Everything was faultless -- except for one unfortunate flaw: the elegant bar in the entrance foyer offers piano music -- a grand piano -- at night -- and the noise level from the reverberation is unbearable. (There are a lot of marble surfaces which intensify the noise.) That's a shame -- the menu is good but very few people eat there.
The opulence of this luxury hotel in Florence is out of a dream. Spectacular service, gorgeous rooms with excellent AC, and the mos beautiful lobby bar, as well as roof-top restaurant make this hotel an addition to my world-wide short list. The restaurant is exceptional, and the incredible history make it a must-see as well. I can't say enough good things about this beautiful property.
The hotel itself is beautiful, so was our room (very spacious too!). Very comfortable bed, extremely clean, great housekeeping services, and very fast room service (though you won't need it much at all - 13 Gobbi is two minutes away). Can't say enough about the service at the hotel - it was probably the best service I have ever experienced anywhere. 24-hour concierge service was unparalleled, very knowledgeable and very friendly. They were always, always available to assist with any request. I truly can't say enough about the service at this hotel, all staff members were inviting, cheerful, and helpful. We highly recommend it and will definitely return for our next trip in Florence!
Hard imagining a better place to stay in Florence. This Westin Excelsior shined from the moment we arrived. The public areas are elegant yet cozy, smartly designed. Our room wasn't ready, the front desk clerk suggested we wait in the rooftop bar - which provided a bird's eye view of Florence! He actually met us there then escorted us to our room, a spacious suite overlooking the Arno and side plaza. We walked all over town, found a lovely trattoria for dinner, then wound our way back. The concierge made excellent site seeing recommendations for our brief 1 night visit which we power walked. We went back at night for a late snack, the rooftop was alive with locals and touristas; no sweeter way to end our stay in Italy. This is a Starwoods hotel but also on Marriott's program, 2 ways to earn points!
