It's such a beautiful setting and the walk to work is so close. The bed is older and a bit firm and squeaky and the room a bit small. It has an air conditioner which is nice because the temperature outside gets over 30 Celsius. Breakfast is very nice and the coffee is amazing. The staff is very helpful and polite. My only gripe is the bathroom which is nice bit the water in the sink and tub doesn't drain quickly leaving a soap scum. There is an awesome pool area with a bar and is very relaxing if you don't mind women in thong type bathing suits 😊

The hotel is situated about 6 miles from the centre of Florence. It consists of the original villa and an annex, where some of the bedrooms are located above the restaurant. We stayed in the annex and the bedroom and bathroom were both very nice. The decor of the room is in keeping with the villa and is in the typical Italian antique style and of a high quality. A good breakfast is provided and there is the option to eat inside or outside on a terrace in the lovely garden which was very relaxing. The swimming pool was not open as it was early in the season, but it looked very nice. There is a frequent bus service from Sesto Fiorentino to Florence, but it can take quite a long time due to traffic congestion.

The hotel is old, lost glory by far. The swimming pool you see in the pictures is not there. Oh yes, it is, but the water is green and the pool is closed. The beautiful rooms you are promised... you will not get. You will be staying in an old, cold and small room, with no view. The staff is not friendly at all. (Except for the older gentleman at the bar and the girls at breakfast) Breakfast is horror. There are only sugary things and worst of all. There were busses full of Asian people staying and the ate all the breakfast. The buffet was completely empty and we had to wait an hour for the buffet to get al little filled again. It was the same the morning after and the morning after. In the close area is nothing to do or to see. There is no spa, no swimming pool, no sport activities, no bar in the evening and last but not least. We would like to dine in the restaurant one evening. It was not possible because of a party that was going on. So the place is all about earning fast money and giving nothing in return. We booked for one week. We left after 3 days, it was this bad. Please read our other reviews. We are no difficult people at all. We love things easily. Please, DO NOT GO THERE !!!

We stayed here as part of our Trafalgar Cost Saver week long tour of Italy. The Hotel is located quite far from the city, however it was quiet, clean and cozy. Our 2 story room was quirky but memorable... having to walk down the stair in the middle of the night was a bit tricky!! Ahh!! The food was average.

A quick taxi drive from the train station for around 25 Euros - be careful though as our driver was quite eager to get us there....looking at other drivers, this seem to be an Italian theme - Eagerness. The Hotel is situated in a very green area with high trees and great views. The guy at reception was confident and friendly. Our room wasn't ready, but we left our bags there and were told exactly what we can do while we wait - 20 min. The pool area was scenic and quiet, with a bar area that served drinks and food. The pool was clean and big with a lot of shaded areas that was useful after hours in the sun. Our room was big with a sizable bathroom. WiFi was not the best. The Hotel is 30min away from the city center on one bus - number 2 or 28 for 2€ if you pay on the bus. The restaurant at the hotel was good and not really that expensive. The menu seems to change every few days which is good if you're eating there every night as there is only a few dishes on each course section. Service was good and friendly. The main course of meat platter was way to salty with no vegetables or salad on the plate. Ive never eaten or asked for salad, but the lack of this made the dish very beige. We asked the guy at reception to book us in for a wine tour which he did with a smile on his face. All in all, no complaints here other than the usual -WiFi, mosquitoes and no food between 3pm and 7pm.

Despite the fact that is located in a beautiful property, the maintenance of the place is poor. Rooms are just average, poor wifi, breakfast staff was ok, but dinner was below average. Seems like the staff doesn't care about the place and guests. I wouldn't come back.

This is a lovely hotel built in 1400. The size of the rooms are okay. But since it is old, you can hear the footsteps of people above your room. The hotel key is unique and was advised to leave it at the front desk because it is heavy. The courtyard has olive trees and walking around it takes you back in time. It preserved the essence of Florence. I enjoyed my stay here.

First impression was good, the front desk staff was friendly but not the whole staff, i encountered few nice staff and few rude ones too. Most rude one was in the bar, the guy with grey hair, i wish I knew his name. Anyway, I came up to him around 2100 to ask for ice and he was in the phone. when I asked for ice he rudely said they don't have anymore. I wanted to tell him I need some for my son's milk since their minibar ref is so low it doesnt seem like it was working at all. And I just wanted him to help me out but he rudely cut me off saying they don't have ice. I understand that but maybe they have a refrigerator I can use or maybe point me out somewhere where I can get ice, rt? Anyway, the would are looked really nice because of the space they have but it also seemed like they don't care about it much during low peak season since they don't maintain the other areas such as fountain, gardens and the pool. I understand the pool is not heated so it's closed during the cold season, however, it was so dirty that it looked like a swamp, it was very unpleasant to see. they should've just drained the water or covered it. The fountain was the same, algae and brown leaves all over it, like I said, seemed like they did not care for it. So instead of people enjoying the surroundings, they didn't because everything was unmaintained. Rooms were okay. ours was clean but you can hear everything through the hallways, loudly. Srry but I wouldn't stay here again

We were happy to find Villa Stanley on our way to Florence....charming grounds, nice pool and restaurant, pure Tuscan charm. After checking in we were told by the receptionist that the AC was being worked on.In 100 degree weather,I was very concerned, especially after driving from Milan, didn't want to suffer or find a new hotel...She coldly explained that it was maintenance and wasn't broken...she said go to the pool, relax, though in the room it was 90 degrees at least. It would be on in the evening. After a wonderful dinner in the hills, and gelato in town, still no air.The young man at reception was horrified...we took our luggage, made a quick reservation, but couldn't get thru the new hotel gate so late. The young man said we would only be charged the city and hotel tax,so,having no choice, we sat on the lovely terrace until after 1 am before falling naked ON the bed with the fan blowing all night...In the morning, receptionzilla was there, and didn't agree to a discount at all...I was furious but calm, and told her that she led and took our choice away, etc,we were willing to move on...she didn't even look at me...spoke to a supervisor, and gave half off plus the taxes. So sad,for one night in a beautiful place,we suffered...Breakfast was good, place is charming, but we were thrilled to leave for Flrence...and civilization!

We stayed here as part of a Trafalgar tour recently. The rooms are dated and the bathroom fittings in need of an update too. This would have all been fine but there was no hot water, some rooms did not have a working TV, we had no wifi reception and the heating was not efficient enough to heat the room. During summer when being warm is not an issue this hotel would be ok, however in the winter it made for a rather unpleasant stay. We were glad to leave and would not come again.
