Hotel Panama3.0 out of 5.0

The hotel was a short walk from the centre, but allowed various routes to different attractions. It's on a fairly quiet street and we had the room by the door and slept fine. We really didn't mind the short walk because it was cheaper than others. Some of the reviews on here are unfair because the hotel does try hard to be a friendly place and for a base to explore the city it was perfect.
The room was very average for the price. There was no room for shower, the shower was literally on top of the toilet seat which means we had to sit on the toilet seat to shower. It also had a horrible smell, I think it was something to do with the sewage. Not coming here again that's for sure! All the staff was good and very friendly but the room was really not worth the money
Thing that made this hotel unforgettable was the staff. Jessica was hands down the most likeable, funny, helpful person we've EVER dealt with anywhere we've stayed in the world. Carlo was not only polite and helpful but he made of mornings perfect with a cup of coffee, that meant the world to us. Room 404 AC could've blown stronger/colder but they gave us a fan which made it better. Bed was hard as a rock, all but 2 of the hotels on our 7 week trip were like this. Definitely too firm for us but not old and worn out like many other hotels we stayed in. Beware some rooms don't have a shower just a tub with a shower head. Very weird at first but we adjusted and floor stays mostly dry if your relatively careful. All and all a great hotel and we would definitely recommend and stay here again.
Very simple hotel isn't perfect needs some touching up here and there, but... staff is friendly, room was very clean and cool (temperature-wise) breakfast is good, but when you want the real Italian coffee make sure to ask for espresso :) there is a parking lot available for a reasonable amount per night (cheaper then most others in the city) beds are firm but I like that. I'd book this hotel again when I visit Florence
Location is good, but a little far of downtown and main attractions (from 15 to 20 minutes walk). The staff are very helpful and very good providing directions and assistance. The air conditioning worked very well for the very hot days that we stayed in Florence.
This hotel is a little out of the central Florence area (15 minute walk) but the 13 bus runs right by from the central station. The staff are extremely helpful and knowledgeable and provide great advice for restaurants, sight seeing and general help. The breakfast is typical European with some cereals and toast and one hot drink (pay for the subsequent ones). A small hotel, the rooms vary greatly. Mine was spacious as well as a well laid out bathroom. Another I saw was wasn't as good so try and choose if possible. Finally, this hotel had air conditioning which was a must have in the hot days when I stayed.
Nice time spent in Florence looking at all the monuments present in the city center. The hotel is good for families with children with comfortable room. The fare is well justified by the strategic position allowing to go to the city center walking.
had a 3 day break at this hotel and was very disappointed. The room we had was right on the main road so we had all the noise of the traffic and sirens all night long. Plus we could smell the fumes from the traffic in our room asked to be moved but told will have to wait till morning. we were moved next day but to a room with no windows so very dark and very small Very claustophic. shower in first room very small and couldnt even turn around in it hotel should be re classed as guest house as very basic Only redeeming factor was the breakfast which was okay Only light in second room was from a couple of bedside lamps but at least traffic noise was a bit less
The hotel is not the closest one to the city center, it is in 15-20 minutes of walking distance to the cathedral, to the central train station and T1 tram terminal station. There are some bus stops close to the hotel, we did not try, but it can be used if needed. The amenities are average; the bathroom was too small for a standard room. As of Feb 2017 breakfast is 7.5, parking is 18€/day, daily towel change is 5€.
The hotel is located nearby to the main attraction. The city centre would be around a 15 min drive. The pricing is reasonable. The food is good too. The rooms are nice and spacious. The staff is good and the service was prompt.
