Spent a few days here and unlike others did not have a problem finding the hotel and thought the lift was charming. The room was excellent as we had a small balcony overlooking a small garden. The room was also well furnished and the staff was most accommodating. The breakfast was a bit of a let down as there was only sliced bread rather than the more common rolls. The location was convenient for all the attractions and would recommend it.
Hotel Goldoni is a small, smart boutique hotel situated in the best part of Florence. The rooms are spacious and clean, with all necessary amenities. Breakfast is basic but good. The hot chocolate served with breakfast is quite good. The only problem was that the bathrooms are big but the bathroom heaters are tiny so the space tends to get chilly (we visited in February). The hotel is walking distance from the river, the Duomo and the train station, making it very convenient.
Needed a stop in Florence on a long drive from UK to Rome. This hotel is inside the restricted area, but fortunately we arrived late and tried to find parking nearby. Even our disabled badge did not help. Finally found a space 200m from hotel in a very narrow street, but got a wing mirror damaged. Eventually found the door and ascended the small lift to the hotel. Pleasant room and friendly staff, very convenient for the historic area, but we were too worried about the car being towed away. Not the best choice for our needs as Florence is a traffic nightmare.
I am giving this hotel a four point. Clean, bright (with big window facing the huge garden) and friendly staff. Photos as advertised. This hotel covers one floor of a very huge building. One drawback is that the big garden that my window faces has an abandoned bathtub(?). Otherwise there is unobstructed view to quite a distance. Will have no problem coming back.
Our flight was delayed and the airline lost our luggage so we arrive late and in a mood lol. The hotel staff couldn't do enough for us. The rooms were clean and spacious with full length windows. Breakfast was great and location was right in the centre. Great hotel!
Stayed 5 nights, Thursday - Tuesday. Better than average breakfast with pastries, meat and cheese, boiled eggs, bread (with a toaster) and rolls, coffee machine, juice, cereal, etc. The staff kept the buffet well stocked all through the meal period. Rooms (Double) were nice, a little bigger than sometimes in a down town hotel. Bathroom not too big but more than adequate. Some rooms (ours - room 27) have a balcony, some (our friend's - room 25) do not. Rooms toward the back are well away from the street noise, although the street is not too busy most of the time. Overall, we had a very good stay at a very nice price point. I would recommend it to anyone who wants a friendly, quiet, clean place to stay in Florence.
At Reception we dealt with Alexaudra who was very pleasant. The Hotel had a nice feel to it & although the rooms were a little tired, the Breakfast Room was a delightful sitting room with great service from both Alexaudra & another lovely young lady who made me the best 'Americano' Barista made coffee I've ever had, so much so that I had to have several. Quaint Hotel overall, in Florentine style. The Male employee/owner?? was not so friendly & if he wants further business I would recommend he improves his 'people skills'. He's lucky to have nice staff. Pastries were awesome & we were told they sourced higher quality fresher ones, which was noticeable compared to other places in Italy. We'd go back there :-)
We stayed at Hotel Goldoni recently and although the room was a little 'tired' and could have used a coat of paint, the location made up for this. We had a large window that opened, a small fridge and a reasonable sized shower. We were able to walk every where and there are plenty of restaurants, bars etc on the same street. The staff were very helpful, we had no issues with the wi fi and the breakfast was ok.
I recently visited Florence and stayed in Hotel Goldoni. I was disgusted at the state of the room and how unclean it was. There were dirty marks on the walls which we didn't look too closely at,but when we woke up in the morning we discovered that we had been bitten by mosquitos and the dirty marks on the walls were infact where the previous guests had killed mosquitos!!! We were so badly bitten i had to go to pharmacy and was given bitecream. We also bought a plug in mosquito repellant and spray but nothing worked. We felt that they were coming from the dirty air conditioning unit! We had enough and we were covered in bites, and left early. The hotel owner said it is just 'Florence' and because of weather the mosquitos are bad. I explained we never got bitten when we were out even at the river it was only in hotel room. I said the room was dirty. They then said there was a plugin i could have used even although we bought our own. This should have been explained to us when checking in,but there was no warm welcome just given key and that was it! The hotel and room need clean and upgraded. The toilet and was small and very smelly. It was our first time in Florence and we were really upset as the hotel was making our trip unenjoyable. I found the male owner rude and just took the tax money and didn't even make eye contact. Wewould never recommend this hotel to any of my friends or family.
Had a lovely short break in this old school hotel. An absolutely perfect location, no where is that far so able to walk to most places of interest. Rooms are not top quality but for the price paid this is to be expected. Breakfast was perfectly OK although I would have preferred fresh coffee rather than out of a machine. The staff were generally friendly and welcoming. I really enjoyed my stay here and would recommend especially to single travellers as single rooms are available and the location is great. My only small gripe was wifi was poor so had to sit in reception whenever required.
