Central, clean, friendly. Great breakfast. Third-floor rooms have views. Lower floors look on to inner courtyard. Rooms are small, but big enough. You don't come to Florence to stay in your room. A fridge in the room would have been nice, but that's my only complaint.

Great position lovely staff. Small room with no tea and coffee making facilities or fridge. I personally like to have a cuppa when I wake up getting ready for the day so this was a little inconvenience. Breakfast was a little chaotic and basic but not enough to detract from the position. I had hurt my back while I was staying and the staff were great at organizing a doctor to come to the hotel very much appreciated as a single person. If they could just put in a coffee maker in the lobby it would be perfect.

Stayed here for 10 nights and the hotel is perfectly located right next to the Duomo. The staff are extremely friendly and helped us with every enquiry that we threw at them, they ensured we got the best out of our stay and I couldn't thank them enough! In addition to being located within a short walking distance of other local attractions, it's also located near some cheap, cheerful and extremely pleasant restaurants. The complimentary breakfast is basic but very good. Thank you Hotel De Lanzi for a wonderful stay, I'll definitely be back!

This again is a centrally located hotel just minutes away from the train station and right behind the Duomo. The main attractions are located around the hotel. The room was clean and a had a spacious shower room The water pressure was a bit low. Breakfast was good and above average. Staff was very well sopen and welcoming.

The hotel is just a block off the bell tower for the Duomo, so central to most everything in Florence. There are a bunch of nice restaurants nearby, a little market just 2-3 doors down, and a food/wine liquor store right next door. The entrance off the street is only a small alcove - there is a staircase or elevator up to the lobby. This was disconcerting at first, but ended up being perfectly fine. The people at the front desk were very friendly and helpful. The room was small (booked a single) but perfectly adequate and clean. The bathroom was roomy and the shower was sized much better than many Italy hotels (enough room to turn around and to shave legs!)! The bed was comfortable and the room had air conditioning. There is not screen on the windows (have yet to find screens in Italy hotels) but not much issues with bugs if leaving the window open at night. We did try the bar up on the top floor. took the elevator to the top and then it's a few flights of stairs up. They only served limited drinks, no food (peanut type snacks only).

Wasn't planning to spend the night in Florence but after a long day there we get sucked in and booked this hotel around 8 PM on a Monday. It's less than two blocks from the Duomo - so just a perfect location. It's a no-frills place but they were super friendly and accommodating, it was clean and comfortable, the rate included breakfast - and the rate, by the way, was excellent! I stay there with my nine-year-old daughter and we were very pleased. Don't be scared off by the neon sign and the initial look from the outside. It caught me off guard initially but once we walked into the reception area I felt completely comfortable. I definitely recommend, particularly for someone who's just looking for a place to stay without spending a fortune and wants to be in the heart of Florence.

I have just visited this hotel and i am pleased to report that it ticked all the boxes for us which was a short stay in a central location. Even though the hotel is in the centre of Florence it is still quiet as we could not hear any outside noise. Another good point was that the staff at the hotel were very friendly and informative. The breakfast was a good continental breakfast which was basic but no worse than at other places. The hotel offered free wifi which was easy to connect to and had a quick, strong connection.

There was not anything bad about this hotel, but nothing really great either. It is a good price and right next to the Duomo. The breakfast, room and amenities were acceptable. The hotel stay was very nice and helpful. I would give a 3.5 if that was an option.

The location of this hotel is excellent however in the morning we found a cockroach in the bathroom. We told staff and unfortunately they did not seem surprised. We asked to move rooms but apparently they were full. When asked they were going to do about it; shrugged their shoulders and offered nothing.... it appears this was the norm. I would recommend that there are nicer hotels in the area.

I have stayed at the de Lanzi multiple times over the past 12 years and have always found it a positive experience, which is why I keep going back. Some rooms have a glorious view of the Duomo that is only a block away. The staff is always pleasant and helpful and breakfast is the typical Italian breakfast and is served in a very pleasant bright dining room. I am a woman who travels alone and I have always felt very safe there, and the location being right in the center of things allows me to be at popular sites quickly. While being very close to everything, it is only a block off the main tourist street between the Duomo and Piazza della Signoria and is quite quiet. It is a tremendous value for the cost.
