Very helpful and friendly staff. Great location for walking or taking the bus to sites. Good free breakfast. Kinda small rooms and minimal air conditioning, but that was true for every hotel we stayed in in four cities.

We had a pleasant stay at a nice hotel. The air conditioning worked very well, and the rooms were big and clean. However the bathroom was small. The breakfast was OK, but nothing fancy with a lot of variety in the coffee. The staff was helpful. The hotel lies between the train station and the cathedral which makes it quite central.

Avoid this hotel if at all possible. Not at all what was advertised. When we arrived had a very rude and unhelpful receptionist. First room we were given the door didn't close properly, the plug sockets didn't work. Moved to a bigger room, however this was 2 single beds pushed together to make a queen and came apart during the night. Wifi is terrible keeps cutting out. The stench from the drains in the bathroom is just awful. The shower, air con and fridge are decent. It's not as central as described and not the easiest to get to from SMN station.

While we thoroughly enjoyed Florence, it's a good thing we didn't have to spend too much of our time at this hotel. Room was cramped, cold, and noisy. No extra pillows or blankets either even when I asked. Front desk staff were snooty. Wouldn't recommend staying here unless you upgrade to a nicer room and speak Italian.

We loved Hotel Cimabue. The receptionists were all very kind and helpful. They spoke English pretty well and they were so sweet. We were able to leave our luggage in a closet because we arrived before check-in time. We were happy with our room and we thought the mattress was pretty comfortable. The bathroom was very clean and decently sized. The breakfast was indeed included and pretty good. Breads, cereals, meats and cheeses, and hot drinks. We were pleasantly surprised. The location was pretty nice too. We felt like we were tucked away enough but close enough to everything. We got around Italy by train and the walk from the station wasn't more than a 10-15 min walk. Unlike some of our other hotels we actually did have free wifi in our room. I would stay here again.

Normal hotel close to the center. 15 minutes walking from the dome. Nice place, normal rooms and good bathroom. We got also breakfast but not so special. It was nice stay there with comfortable rooms and very good price!

was a little worried when I read the reviews as this hotel was chosen by our tour operator and I have to say that it was actually quite pleasant .staff welcomed us in a friendly Manner the receptionist had a good knowledge to help us get around and explore the area only a 10 min walk to the Santa Maria Duomo and a lovely little supermarket just around the corner Bathroom and Bedroom very clean and beds comfortable ..we had a family Room 612 made up of 4 single beds Breakfast was better than I expected again due to the reviews I had read ..there is now a toaster !! Breakfast choices are cereals yogurts and breads with cheese ham and tomatoes, croissants and jams teas coffees and juices Main Critique I have is that there are no facilities to make Tea or coffee in the rooms and a complimentary bottle of water or something would have been a nice touch we laid in bed one evening looking at the muriel on the ceiling and to sum the decor up of this hotel ...its like being in a 1945 movie with the Germans marching the streets outside ..i think its meant to charm...im not sure ..its just different to anywhere else ive stayed ...however, would i stay again ? ...yes I think I would !

Room itself was not as bad as I thought it may be after reading TA reviews. The bathroom is new and spacious for European standards. Breakfast was not bad at all, but was the 4th worst of the 5 hotels we stayed in. AND even worse, there we groups of school kids on field trips, making noise all night making it difficult to sleep. The front desk seemed oblivious and unwilling to do anything about it. I had to yell at the kids stomping up the stairs myself and then they would be quiet for a while, but start all over again. Avoid rooms close to stairs, walking echoes really badly. Walking distance to attractions was not too bad. The front desk was however very helpful with directions and making the breakfast as pleasant as they could. The morning we checked out they allowed us to have breakfast items that were setup already and cappuccino, 30 minutes early. We sincerely appreciated that. Hence I give 2 stars for the 2 or 3 positives. Maybe later in the summer, if there are no school kids, 3 stars could be considered, but please do not stay there in May. The taxi charge of €23-25 seemed very steep for a few blocks that take 15 minutes of walking, plus we got to Florence about noon. Hotel normally don’t let you in until 3pm, we had time. So we walked to the hotel from the train station, but the rough coble stone roads and narrow sidewalks were very tiring and stressful finding your way in a completely unfamiliar city. So on check out day we decided it is worth the cost of taking the taxi to the Firenze Santa Maria Novella train station.

We got this hotel as part of a vacation package and did not pick it ourselves, but were very happy with it. Great little OLD hotel with tons of charm. Our room was tiny, but we were expecting that. It was a great place to lay our heads after a day filled with sightseeing and shopping. It was clean, the front desk clerks were helpful and friendly, and we loved our breakfast every morning. Great location as there are restaurants, shops and tourist sights within walking distance. The train station is even close by, although we still took a taxi since we had a ton of luggage.

The rooms are not so big but there are not bad. Location is great. Staff is super friendly. For the price. You get more than you pay for. I wish we stayed longer. Florence is beautiful and the location of the hotel gives you access to all type of transportation.
