My check-in went fantastic. I was even upgraded to a much better room than I booked. The gentleman who checked me in even gave some great advice on what to see during my stay. That is the extent of any kindness I received. Earlier in the evening I asked if it was ok for a friend to change clothes in my room before dinner and we would come back later in the evening to pick them up. The staff said it was ok, as my friend left her passport at the front desk. When we returned to the hotel, the night auditor was talking to a friend and ignored me for a few minutes while I stood at the counter. He finally came over and I stated my room number to retrieve the keys; you have to leave them at the front desk every time you leave. The night auditor gave me the room keys without any questions or identification and quickly walked back to his friend. I told him I wanted my friend to go get her things from the room so we wanted to give him the passport. He walked back to me at the counter, checked my reservation and declined to let my friend enter. I tried to explain it to him again and was met with a lot of hostility. He was raising his voice and being quite rude. When I saw another front desk attendant I had spoken to earlier, she said oh sure, just give us the passport. The night auditor began yelling at her in italian but i got the impression he was not ok with her decision. I had to ask the friendlier front desk attendant to come with us to my room so that she could get her things.

Amazing location in beautiful Florence! Great value. Nice bathroom (spacious by European standards) with great water pressure in shower. Comfy bed, quiet place, strong air conditioning. Very restful. Breakfast was mediocre at best but the room was very nice and staff helpful and friendly. Would recommend!

I got this hotel for the view that it pictures in the main photo. This isnt right because the douomo isnt as close as it seems in the picture. My bathroom smelled so bad. The staff was ok, the location was good but pretty much any othe rhotel is good since florence is so small. We took a taxi to the hotel the first time but then just walked to the train station when we left since it was only a 10 minute walk. Best thing about breakfast was the coffee, other than that we just skipped it.

Room was not dirty but the appearance was less than desirable. Walls were scuffed and visibly stained. Shower head kept falling and spraying water all over the bathroom. Bed linens were clean, but comforter/dust cover was ancient. Parking was conveniently located next to the hotel but slightly pricey. The best thing about this hotel was the location. Very short walk to the Duomo, Palazzo Vecchio, Uffizi, and Ponte Vecchio. Simply not a 4 star hotel.

I had the worst customer service experience I ever had. I reported broken and dirty bathroom parts that allowed the water to accumulate inside shower and go out and I was asked to fix it with my hands and ask for drying floor as needed. I also asked for the missing shower towel, and I was told they did not have any one at this time...People in the front desk seemed to be tired and become upset when you asked for information about the city...I could not believe it!!! I do not recommend the hotel if you want to enjoy your trip. Bar/Buffet employees provides outstanding service. Great pizza/service at Gelato restaurant close to "ponte veccio"

The room was very small, not what I expected, thought I was getting a good price from your website but got what I paid for a very small bed and not much room to move.

Excellent value, especially for Italy. Modern bathrooms, pleasant rooms, decent breakfast, excellent location. Not a super friendly staff, expensive Internet and no duvet covers on bed, just reusable bedspread, but super clean, relaxing, beautiful architectural details. I go there everytime I am in Florence, a few times a year. A definite recommend!

The room was fine, with a great shower, poor towels, and no English TV. But it was right next to one of their dining areas, so when people sat at 7:30, our sleeping was over. On top of that, they "store" your luggage right by the side of the entry--not very safe. This was a very good two-star hotel, but no better than that.

Very nice hotel in very good location. Renovations still in progress and it should be even nicer when complete. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Rooftop bar was a great surprise.

The hotel was perfect for what I was looking for. Great breakfast in the morning and very accommodating. Great location. Very close to the train station, shopping and downtown

The staff was friendly and helped me with any questions or concerns that I have had. The bathroom was very clean and modern with a whirlpool bathtub. They provide basic toiletries and renew them every day. Their bar is not over priced like most other hotel bars. The only negative part was that instead of a double bed, I had two single beds pushed together. With every single movement they came apart creating a huge gap in the middle of the bed. Overall, I enjoyed my stay and being very close to the center of the city.

-Great staff, unbeatable location, beautiful hotel, decent room size for Florence. Great third floor bar with beautiful views of the Duomo. -Breakfast was so-so, but free with room rate, so that was a nice touch. Beds aren't terribly comfortable, but they are standard for Florence.

The location is SUPERB! we were able to check in and within minutes see the David. we loved the location which was easy to find. the rooms were clean, and the bathrooms spacious (on a european scale). i didn't like that you had a card key that had to be turned into the desk.... and the air conditioner was run on the card key-- so our room was stiffling for the first 35 mintues when we returned... the hotel was perfect for us-- we were more interested in the city then we were with our accomodations-- and we loved this place!

If you're looking for a two star hotel in a good location, this is the one for you. However, when you're expecting a four star hotel as they claim to be, you're more than a little annoyed when they show you to your room. Under no circumstances could this be considered four stars. First of all, the security issue. They have actual keys for the room and you are required to leave your room key with the front desk every time you leave. Besides being annoying, it is also unsafe. Not once did they ask us for ID when we came back and picked up our key. We merely said what room we were in and they handed over the key. They rotated staff, too, so it wasn't like the person recognized us. Also, if you want to use the safe you have to give them a 5 Euro deposit and then carry around a bulky key all day. The room was very small and didn't have any comfy chairs to lounge in, like I would have expected in this hotel class. My husband and I like to take leisurely vacations and end up spending a lot of time in the room, but this room was not inviting at all. The beds were very firm and they provided us with only two very small and hard pillows. The bedding was simply pitiful. They gave us a sheet and a "blanket", which was simply some of the window fabric thrown over the sheet. This isn't what one expects in a four star hotel. Now for the bathroom. It was clean, but that's about all it had going for it. They didn't provide any soap or shampoo, which is usually a given in a place that claims they're a four star hotel (In fact, I've never had to provide my own soap, no matter the star rating of the hotel). We had to go buy hand soap from the grocery. My husband always uses the shampoo provided, so he had to buy shampoo. They provided a minimal number of thin, hard towels. The shower was so tiny that it was difficult for me and I'm a short, slender female. My husband had a heck of a time in there! There was no bathtub, either. Something that would be a given in a four star hotel. One last thing. If you're hoping to have the hotel store your luggage for you, you're only option is to just leave it sitting in the lobby. They have nowhere else to put it. If I'd booked a two star hotel, then this would have fit the bill. Unfortunately, they're trying to pass themselves off as a four star hotel and they simply aren't.

The hotel is nice, clean and in the center of Florence. The only downside is that there is a little construction in the building next store so you have to go through a different entrance with no elevator to the lobby.

We were on vacation with the children and wanted to stay in a family friendly hotel that was also close to the places we needed to visit. This hotel was in a good location so we did not need to take cabs to get around.

The location is excellent as attractions are mostly walking distance for up to 15 minutes, except Piazzale Michelangelo where we have to take the bus. The train station is also closeby that we only have to walk. Excellent staff service, provide us with maps and explain the attractions on maps.

Very central location, but not the best if you want peae and quiet

I was very concerned about taking a chance with online booking, but I was so pleasantly surprised. I think what finally helped me to say yes to this one, because I spent hours researching, was the reviews; when they say they would recommend it to a friend, I felt re-assured about my decision. What was also nice was that it just happened to be on the same street my daughter's apartment was while she was here in school. This hotel has a great location. It is on the same street as the David and just around the corner from the Duomo. There is so much to see, Florence is really a fabulous place to visit. There is great shopping, outstanding food and wine. We never had a bad bottle of wine nor a bad meal. Be sure to go to the Piazza Michael Angelo, breathtaking views of all of Florence. We also, through Florence for Fun, did a walk and wine tasting tour that took us to the heart of the vineyards in Chianti country in Panzano, well worth the excursion.

While my girlfriend and I did not spend much time in the room (we were in Florence after all), we enjoyed the hotel very much. We booked the room for only 60 DOLLARS a night. My girlfriend was skeptical of the hotel due to the inexpensive price and name, but I booked it anyways due to other reviews and pictures I saw as well as the location. My girlfriend was amazed by the hotel. It was all brand new. Everything in the hotel looked brand new and amazingly decorated. Not only that, but the hotel is a block and a half from the Duomo, and a block and a half from the Galleria Dell'academia. For those of you that don't know, those are the two best and most popular things to visit in Florence. All in all the hotel had the best of the best with a very affordable price.
