Stayed here for four nights before going on to Florence. Lovely location, and views over the hills.Room was fine; clean and comfortable. Reception staff excellent Breakfast typical continental style, with plenty of cake. Evening meals not bad, but desserts unimaginative, Mousse or Pannecotte every night. On the last evening we were told that we could not eat in the restaurant as they had large groups. A lovely location, but the public transport system, efficient as it was, was not conducive to getting about.

The staff at the hotel was friendly and the rooms were clean and beautiful. Unfortunately, the AC was not working that well and the outdoor pool was full of bees. The breakfast is alright, but very focused on cakes and sweet treats. The city of Florence can be reached within around 25 minutes by car. If traveling by car, there are a few excellent traditional restaurants in the region. A big plus are the free parkings right in front of the hotel.

The hotel was clearly once a gem, but those days are gone. The rooms are adequate at best. The staff have clearly given up. The wifi is worthless - only works in reception area, and it's pitifully slow. The restaurant is not worthy of that name - it's merely a room where the bare minimum of something vaguely edible is sometimes served. And the air conditioning is AWOL. The views are the sole salvation, and that simply isn't enough to make it worth staying here. Avoid! This place is massively overpriced and is AWFUL.

If you need to leave the resort, be prepared to pay upwards of $100 for a cab to come get you and bring you back. Do NOT walk to bus stop as suggested by staff. Treacherous roads. Very unsafe. You can preorder dinner, including steak. But ask at desk. They wont tell you. The entire facility is in need of repair. Air conditioning is regulated, room darkening shades are missing from windows, indoor pool is ICE COLD. the bees by the pool are scary, but harmless. They are the honey bees kept on the property who come to the pool as a water source. And bring a beach towel. We were scolded for using room towels and found notes in our room asking us not to use their towels for pool. We had no idea we had to bring our own (which would take up room in luggage). If you want to relax and lounge by the pool, the views are great, but if you want to see Tuscany, rent a car. Long story short, we would NEVER come back. They do not like Americans. At all. . If you are looking to book this place, take a look at the other recent reviews - it appears our bad experience is not an isolated incident. The biggest issue we had with our stay was with the rude staff at the hotel. They were largely unhelpful - it seemed that us staying there and asking questions was an inconvenience to them. They were at times aggressive and even hung up on us when we tried to call them to turn off the air conditioning (note this can only be done remotely from their system). Beware if you are driving. They charge a mind-blowing 150 Euros for parking which they claim is written on the website... (when we looked it up, it says it's free). We had the unfortunate experience of being in the lobby when a poor guest took issue with the extortionate amount and was shouted at aggressively for about 5 minutes by a receptionist, who finally threatened to call the police if they did not pay right there and then. If you are not driving then also beware. We were charged 45 euros for a taxi from the airport to the hotel. Only to find the hotel shuttle service running into the city advertised on website was not running as it was 'out of season'. The taxi to Florence is expensive - 30 euros each way (the receptionist even claimed the taxi was expensive - but apparently the parking is reasonable???) So that leaves getting the bus into Florence - nearest bus stop with regular service is 25mins walk away along dangerous hill top road without pavements. Other than that you have to time a myriad of small buses at awkward hours to avoid the dangerous walk (note these finish around half 7 meaning dinner in Florence was not an option for us. When we arrived although 2 restaurants were advertised at the hotel, only 1 was available with very limited menu and they were unwilling to change anything on it. The breakfast provided was almost entirely stale each morning. There was a full hive of bees in outdoor swimming pool (neighbouring property has a farm of beehives) making it unusable whilst we were there. The internet/wifi was not working in rooms, we got a shrug from one of the receptionists when we tried to raise this and nothing was done about it after a number of enquiries The sound insulation is very poor between rooms and the whole hotel is still dilapidated despite recent renovation claims. Our bathroom was leaking form the base of the bidet. It looks like they stay afloat from large tours where customer service is not important - can't imagine they get any repeat business from individuals. Overall we would say avoid this hotel even if you get a great deal on it. How it achieves an official 4 star rating is a complete mystery. That said the countryside around Florence is beautiful and the city itself is wonderful. So just choose another place to stay.

Location is very complicated. Reception staff is very arrogant. Our voucher had mentioned full breakfast still we were not offered as committed and we were offered limited breakfast like 1 piece of cake, bread and tea or coffee that's all. We didn't had breakfast during the stay. Hotel charge Euro 150 for the parking. No 5* hotel charge so much. Rooms were in bad condition with old furniture. We didn't opt for the parking so we were given very bad treatment. I wont recommend any one this resort property.

The very complicated drive to get up the mountain. The ran into issues with the door not locking and manager was very hard to communicate with. I truly did not enjoy my experience. We were planning to attend an event and after 2 hours of arguing with the manager (because she did not understand the issue with the door lock) She insisted the door be inspected by the locksmith beofre changing our room, locksmith was not at location and we missed the event.

I too visited with a group of 90+ choir members. Simple but effective buffet put on for our late arrival on the first night. Was just what I needed. Bar was busy first night and staff were lovely and hardworking. When I went outside for a cigarette, I was approached by the chef (now off duty) who asked me to go for a late night swim alone. He then continued to follow me, stare at me and make gestures to me throughout the night. This was extremely unprofessional and uncomfortable, especially when it lasted throughout my entire visit. Swapped my room as the first had a horrible view and was very very small. The lovely lovely lovely older gentleman on reception (who seemed to never leave) was very helpful and let me look at other rooms before choosing which one I preferred. The room I ended up with was large, spacious, clean and with a beautiful view. I did use the swimming pool on 2 occasions - it was empty and very relaxing. Outside seating area was lovely when the sun came out! Although the following night, the staff were very quite rude and difficult to work with when people wanted to get drinks, they also were rude about people singing even though we had literally taken up nearly the whole hotel and can't imagine it was off-putting to other visitors. The last night, the staff seemed to make the most effort, letting us enjoy the evening after having a gorgeous florentine steak in the restaurant. I'd like to thank Francesco and the lovely older gent on reception for going above and beyond during my visit. The hotel wasn't what I expected, but luckily the company I was in more than made up for it and I can't really remember anything exceptionally bad about this hotel. Mainly just the chef... That wasn't great...

The bathroom grouting was black and the tap leaked onto the work surface. The bar was open from 9 to 11 pm if there was staff available. But they had to finish kitchen work first. 93 of us out all day and night arrived back at 10.55 and they said bar shut. The few staff they had were lovely but obviously under pressure. I couldn't understand why nobody was in the restaurant until we ate there. It's OK but nothing special. Certainly not what I expected. I wouldn't return to this hotel but would definitely go back to Florence. A stunning beautiful city.

we were booked here with our choir of 90+ people in twin rooms for three nights it should have been a fantastic hotel, certainly in a beautiful setting shame that the staff could not have cared less. ran out of tea at breakfast every day, closed the bar just as we arrived back from Florence just before 11pm and we had to make a right fuss even to get anything to drink, on the Sunday we were back at 5pm and could not get a cup of tea as they had no tea bags and the waitress could not figure out that green tea was not what we were asking for. Our room was so cold and damp that I came home with a raging cough and streaming nose, there possibly was a fridge in there but there was no knob on the cupboard so we could not access it. if you need a taxi book your own cos we tried through the hotel and got ripped off big time, there is a swimming pool but the smell put us off trying it! The overall impression of the place is that it was about to go into receivership and they had run stocks down prior to selling - the bar ran out of gin by 6pm, I would love to return to Florence but certainly won't be staying here again.
