Palmlea is a slice of paradise. We stayed here for a week and had a fantastic time. It may not suit those looking for the bright lights of a city but the bright stars that lit up the night sky from horizon to horizon at night were exactly what we wanted. The complex is totally private and is quiet and peaceful. The loudest noise you hear will be the birdsong and the wind blowing through the trees. Our room was a burre, an individual chalet with ensuite facilities and its own balcony with fabulous views down to the sea. The large pool was welcome to cool off during the heat of the day. The hosts Joe and Julie are exceptional and Malti, the chef, an amazing talent produced outstanding meals both local and international, though we would highly recommend you try all the local options, as these are definitely her strength.

its a beautiful place with gorgeous romantic view. cant fault view. was able to see sunset and sunrise form the patio. at night watch the stars its the only place that have stars that lights up the entire sky the staff and owner are lovely the cons are: Too expensive for camping. i would stay for less cost with some major changes because I did love the above It was a beautiful villa made of bamboos with a bed and cupboard but I call it camping because: The villa had insets inside such as spiders, centipedes and cockroaches At night when the lights get turned on: centipedes came in dozens and I had to ask for a broom to sweep it away when I initially entered: the villa was full of cobwebs, cockroach poos and dead spiders and the sheets stank of mould etc which I slept in for the first night and it was cleaned on our complaint there was no tea and coffee making facilities which i did not realize when i booked and missed having my coffee when I wanted to I was informed that i could let staff know if I needed something but i could not do that at 9pm at night because there was no staff at reception I did try one morning and found everyone asleep If one needs to get into town by taxi one away is $25,therefor return is $50 per day walking to catch bus would take good 30 mins There is no set menu for breakfast, i was told that I had 2 options: eggs and bread or cereal Another major issue was the residence dog: staff and owner declared him friendly but he snarled and barked and came close to us as if he was going to bite us I love dogs but was totally petrified of him that even to walk in the yard, I had to drag my hubby with me there is no bar fridge either and staff and owner did put my wine in the fridge but once again it was a bit of inconvenience for me because I had take it out earlier than I was going to use it and also couldn't put the unfinished wine in the fridge due to everyone asleep I was offered to put it in fridge in morning but as it is with sparkling wine, the sparkles go off if not refrigerated after opening it the pool didn't work the whole time I was there and that was a contributing factor when we booked this place. We found it very difficult without pool because the its so hot there. we were informed that the pump was broken when we got there. We were there for the soccer games and every other hotel was fully booked so we had to stay there. we were waived an amount of $120 which we had incurred in food and wine but I was disappointed that we weren't offered any other discount for loss of pool and other inconveniences caused to us As I have stated in the beginning, I would stay again for less cost with some major changes

I stayed at Palmlea Farms Lodge & Bures for a night while I was in town for work. I thoroughly recommend it for anyone who will be on Vanua Levu. The accommodation is beautiful, the views are stunning, and the food is delicious! Julie was fun to chat with and was very kind in helping me resolve a snag in my travel plans.

We stayed there one night but wished we could have stayed much longer. It's a beautiful paradise with just a few bures which makes it very authentic and relaxing. Joe and Julie are amazing hosts and their staff is one of the nicest. The view is breathtaking and the lap pool of 25m is very enjoyable. The dinner and breakfast we had were amongst the best of our trip in Fiji. I highly recommend Palmlea Farms Lodge to anyone travelling to Labasa! Don't miss this place. Laura & Fred.

Stayed here 2 nights Fantastic experience Thoroughly recommend the setting, accommodation , food and hospitality Brought friends from Labasa for a meal and they all raved about the beauty and hospitality Thanks Julie and Joe !

weve never been to vanua levu so this trip wanted to see around the other main island,we chose palmlea based on other reviews and have to say we weren't disappointed , we used it as a base to explore around the island [ joe and julie helping with driver hire ] returning each night to one off the most comfortable and relaxing places we've ever stayed, the views are stunning the food amazing and your hosts are friendly welcoming and with a life of adventures to share with guests have found an amazing level of relaxation with a stimulation for more adventure, set in amazing surroundings which include a working farm which give a very low impact environment and also is great when you can be told that most of your meals are grown on the land around you in all a fantastic stay for our whole family 2 adults 2 kids,a big thank you to Julie, joe and the amazing chef malti

We had a very enjoyable & relaxing time. Friendly, helpful staff, wonderful ocean views, walks, 25m lap pool, excellent food. A unique opportunity to experience the culture and superb environment of northern Vanuatu Level.

Not sure how anyone can say the have been to Fiji when they have not had the opportunity to visit Palmlea Farms Lodge & Bures. This is such an amazing place that is only shadowed by the staff they employ. Way off the beaten path over a hill and through the woods you will find paradise in the middle of paradise. Palmlea Farms, with its beautiful landscaping, well appointed Bures (Fijian for Wood and Straw Huts), their off the grid approach to life was really cool to see. This place is very open air, with an amazing view, a short walk to the ocean, on site lap pool, beautiful goat farm, and staff that makes you feel like you are the most important person in the world (with out the fake resort approach) If you are looking do do excursions (snorkeling, reef fishing, boating) inquire in advance with the establishment and request that you are guided by their staff (Noah, and Fizel) two super super cool and fun guys. We were booked through a local boat operator who was less then acceptable, we refused his services and Julie (the owner) went into action and made sure that we had one of our best days in Fiji accompanied by the aforementioned individuals. If you are looking to Scuba do some research as this is not the most toured part of Fiji and dive trips can be expensive by normal standards. It seems that locals believe if you are in Fiji that money must be of no concern (Palmlea Farms Owners and Staff exempted) Food, Malti is an amazing chef and you will not be disappointed with anything she prepares. Not only is she a great cook, if you do not fall in love with her while you are here you need to spend a couple of extra days here so you can totally decompress and experience all that Palmlea has to offer. To the owners (Joe and Julie, the staff and friends of Palmlea, be strong, live long, and stay beautiful)

I was only at Farmlea for two nights, a quick stay whilst working in the area, really didn't want to leave! The attention to detail by Malti is tops, perfect service and food delicious too. It's just a tranquil unspoiled haven. No TV meant going for a walk and swim and enjoying the gorgeous surroundings. Thank you so much for a lovely stay.

It's not all that often that I'm pleasantly surprised but Palmlea was a massive delight. We stayed here for 3 nights during a two week visit to the island. We were somewhat skeptical as we aren't really resort people. Rooms are as advertised, serviceable, and comfortable. Location is amazingly quiet and Stunningly beautiful. Food is a delight and they really go out of their way to please and accommodate. Wood fired pizza oven out back was a great treat as well. It almost felt like visiting family! Wonderful atmosphere.
