We are just back from a couple of nights’ stay here without our toddler. We found out before we arrived that the spa and pool are unfortunately closed for the foreseeable (at least until Christmas time) while they are renovated. We were really disappointed about his but were offered an upgrade to a suite by way of apology. The replies to my emails were swift and very helpful. We stayed in an Old Course Suite overlooking the course and the bay. The suite was luxurious, spacious and the main bathroom (there are 2) was amazing with a huge shower and the deepest spa bath I’ve ever seen! The bed was enormous and very comfortable and the room was immaculately kept. The breakfast was fantastic and the staff in the restaurant were efficient and friendly. The concierge were very friendly and the whole atmosphere was very polite and laid back (not stuffy like I suspected it might be!) All in all this was a lovely two nights of relaxation and I will definitely be back next time we are looking to recharge the batteries!

We went to stay for a quiet relaxing weekend and had a wonderful time. Got an upgrade to a suite which was superb and just made our stay so much better. Food was great and the staff were lovely and so atentitive.

This hotel is very pricey but worth every penny. Our room was spacious and comfortable. The buffet breakfast was one of the best! The spa is outstanding. What really stands out are the people who work there. The staff was knowledgeable and most important, very friendly and helpful. We weren't sure how we could play "The Old Course" but the golf shop told us how to get in line. At 3am the guy manning the valet/porter stand offered to drive us up to get in line. He was genuinely interested in whether we got a tee timer not (we did). The location is fantastic. I couldn't believe we were walking across the oldest golf course in the world 1 minute from the front desk. I can't wait until I return!

We had a fabulous suite looking out to the bay. The bathroom was fabulously luxurious and the room had a 2nd toilet. The lounge area was both decadent and comfy. The bed also luxurious and deliciously comfortable. Can't wait to return!

My wifes birthday was the just yesterday and all she wanted was to stay at The Old Course Hotel, St Andrews. Well from start to finish I could not fault this establishment. Katie in reservations was absolutely wonderful and helped me through the booking proceedure. I could have done this on line but that little bit extra was put into the personal touch. What a really nice person and so helpful. Receptionists were really helpful and non judgemental. Nikki thanks to yourself. The room we were allocated was 212 and looked right up the 17th and 18th Fairways of the old course itself. Being a bit of a golfer for me this was heaven. But my wife loved the relaxed and well furnished room which with its well stocked mini bar what else could you wish for. Well so it seemed until we hit the bar and restaurant.... what can I say but the view the food and obviously the great selection of wines beers and for me Gins hit the spot. In all a really wonderful stay albeit for one night so the next time it will definitely be longer and I might even get in a game of golf while the missus goes to the new spa opening soon. To all the staff I cannot thank you enough for such a wonderful and pleasant overnight birthday treat for my wife.

We recently visited the hotel for their Faulty Towers dining experience with friends, fun filled night from start to finish definitely would recommended, the faulty towers team worked so hard to keep the guests entertained all night. The hotel itself, amazing the staff were very friendly and obliging from the moment we arrived. We had a suite and the room and views were just spectacular. Breakfast in the morning was very busy but food was well worth the short wait to be seated excellent. Well done would definitely recommend.

We visited and spent two nights as part of a birthday gift. We were treated like royalty! When the staff knew we were celebrating birthdays they could not do enough. We were upgraded to a suite overlooking the 17th hole and onward to the sea. The whole ambiance of the hotel is lovely and does not have the 'stiffness' of many other 5 star hotels. Breakfast and dinner in the restaurant also reflected the quality of the hotel. Well done - and thanks again!

My family and I drove from Manchester to St Andrews, which is an eight hour trip. Upon arrival to the hotel we were greeted with the upmost hospitality. We were able to lock in reservations for dinner at the Road Hole, which was amazing. Two of my family members played 9-holes on the course and it was a Thrilling experience for them, I mean a Golfer's dream come true!! Needless to say we will return for a longer visit. I also enjoyed my breakfast, I was told it was 25 minute wait but I received my breakfast hot within 15 mins. Awesome! We will definitely come back one day soon!

It is such a treat to stay here. You are well looked after the minute you walk through the door. Everything is amazing and of such a high standard - food, spa, rooms etc. The views from the restaurant and bar are incredible. We absolutely love staying here. Definitely worth every penny!

I have stayed here on several occasions. I love the staff, the views are fantastic and the location to the town is great. What I am disappointed in every time is the quality of food. Breakfast is just not great for a five star hotel. I also am disappointed when you order from the menu at breakfast. Food comes out with no garnish and only slightly better than the buffet quality. There are plenty of choices in town for dinner so we rarely dine in the evenings. I have said in rooms that are refurbished and they are nice but i think more could be done. The Road Hole on 4th floor could certainly do with with an update. The views outside are terrific and I think the room could certainly do with a "left." That said, the Old Course does not need my reviews, it has a built in business with the terrific golf and of course St. Andrews at it's doorstep
