Ordered the Salmon & roasted veg £11.50 'Salmon on a bed of butternut squash' ... I had 2 very small cubes of butternut squash mixed in with other veg so I mentioned it to the waitress. Her reply was 'it comes pre-packed so we don't know what's in it'... My reply was that it wasn't my problem what was in the packet but rather that I hadn't got what it stated on the menu. .. I asked her to mention it to the kitchen. She bought me a separate dish of very small cubes of butternut squash. Was this in a separate packet I wonder ? I don't think the price represents good value - especially seeing how it's obviously a cook in the kitchen as opposed to a chef. Ordering in prepackaged, vacuum packed food isn't what you think you're getting at almost £12 for a salmon steak & a bit of veg. Then, we all decided to order a coffee. We were told the 'machine' wasn't able to make anything other than black coffee as it was broken. ? & yet the miniature blackboard at the end of the bar stated 'have your cake & eat it - coffee & cake for £3.19... it didn't say PS..., but only black coffee. SO TAKE DOWN THE BOARD!! You're advertising something you can't deliver! You don't expect somewhere 'pretending to be a restaurant' & charging the prices they do to not be able to make coffee & not have fresh coffee/cafetière ? Fresh milk in the fridge where you keep the vacuum packed food? I then asked if I could have a black coffee but with soya (assuming that would be separate from the machine anyway) The waitresses reply ? "No" Who doesn't cater for non dairy these days ? You go for a meal ... starter perhaps ... main course... dessert... coffee... yeah. Not here. Now I know it's all bought in & not made on the premises I wouldn't return as I don't like paying for a "silk purse but getting the pigs ear' Service wasn't great. Waitresses were miserable. Nice room, shame ...

Came here for a super lunch several weeks earlier & as we had to come back to the area decided to stay here overnight. We had a lovely room with an extremely comfortable bed (main criteria for me) we also had a superb dinner, the choices were good & the wines a reasonable price. Service was excellent & the staff very pleasant. Only one gripe - that the shower was rubbish. Apart from that, particularly now we know it is dog friendly, we will certainly come back.

Our family needed accommodation for 1 night visiting family locally. This hotel accepts dogs so attracts alot of dog owners with the park being close by. Rooms are very basic. TV didn't work, advised reception when checking out and he just said, sorry about that and then took full payment for the room.

Nice 3 star hotel. Near Bradgate Park, dog friendly which is the main reason we stayed. Lovely tasty breakfast and lunches. We're made to feel v welcome. Would stay again. Slightly noisy on Saturday night as there was a wedding disco, but we slept nevertheless

Party of 5 enjoyed 3 course meal and soft drinks on a Thursday night for £125. The decor is quite contemporary and we sat in the back room which is more restaurant style rather than the main pub area. Service was good and staff engaged with you quite readily

We stayed in room 17 last Saturday. Bathroom floor and carpet dirty (room tired, but that wouldn't have bothered me) - light flickering, they finally addressed these issues after someone came up 3 times - although I have to say the staff were all very friendly and helpful. When we finally began to unpack, I looked up, cobwebs with spiders hanging in the corners of the bedroom, cobwebs round ceiling in bathroom, again went down to reception, very helpful guy came up himself and hoovered round the ceilings. My husband had the breakfast, said it was awful. On checking out, I thought they may apologize or offer us a complementary drink or something. But no, we paid our £105 and left. - although I would add they said we didn't need to check out till noon. (we didn't actually want a drink, but some sort of apology would have been nice) especially as we are returning guests!

Stayed here for a meeting and work presentation evening on Monday. The hotel is very clean and tidy with friendly staff. Our meeting room was spacious (16 of us) with the coldest air-con ever. We had a buffet lunch which was pretty good, the usual wraps, sarnies, crisps etc. but overall not too bad. Dinner was pretty decent taste wise just small on portion size. I had the beef and ale pie which must have been about 100mm (4") diameter, smallest I've seen. A colleague had a steak and that too was 'fun' sized! Like I said taste was good just could have been more of it. My room was on the first floor and was clean and tidy with a good size comfy bed. The wi-fi was a plus point, decent connection through sky cloud and all of us kept connection all day and evening. Looking at the prices it is very reasonable so can't gripe too much, just could have been that bit better.

Popped in for a meal this evening, plenty of parking, very friendly staff. Really clean and the food: service was very quick and the food was fantastic. The wife loved her lamb shank and prawn starter. I had the black pudding starter and steak. One of the best meals we have eaten and prices are not too bad either. We will be back

The hotel is OK but overpriced for what you get. Upon arrival there was waste in the toilet bowl and the flush was incredibly weak. When we mentioned this to reception we were told that the drains don't work properly and this happens quite often...great. The breakfast was OK but nothing to write home about and it was obvious the items for the cooked breakfast had been kept warn rather than freshly cooked. I would look elsewhere.

We booked the Fieldhead hotel last minute and we were not disappointed. We stayed in room 16 and would recommend to anyone. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel is clean and bar and restaurant look very good. We ate in the restaurant and food was good. Good choice of ales at the bar. Great night away and would definitely recommend.
