A large reason for my returning to Mallorca this autumn was to revisit Son Menut, the wonderful stallions here and the terrific instructor. A real privilege to ride such magnificent horses that are so well-schooled. Heaven! I can't recommend this place enough. 10/10

I had a wonderful three-night stay at Son Menut. Dressage lessons on the Spanish stallions were brilliant - Valentin is an excellent teacher. Trail rides were fun and good for riders of all abilities but riders should be aware that the rides are on gravel tracks, not in open countryside (surrounding countryside is lovely for walking and absolutely beautiful in the spring with all the wildflowers). The horses for trail rides were also nice horses, well-mannered and responsive. Food in the restaurant was delicious and the room was rustic, clean and comfortable. Extremely nice, helpful staff who made me feel very welcome as a solo traveller. I stayed full-board and it was good value for everything that was included. I will certainly return to Son Menut.

Our children were suddenly desperate to go horse riding. We chose not to do a class and opted for a pony ride where we led the horses round. It was great for beginners and the children loved it. At €15 for 30 mins it was very reasonable

Mannue is a fantastic teacher, I was delighted to progress from a relative beginner to galloping in a week of lessons. The trail rides were a good opportunity to apply what we had learnt and to see Mallorca. Karin and the team were very helpful and made all the guests feel very welcome.

A beautiful setting. Friendly service. Horse-riding for all levels - beginner to expert. Group and private lessons. Day outings riding on the beach or the in the mountains. Very good horses, especially the Spanish stallions. Good family cuisine in the restaurant. Pool and bar for relaxing at the end of the day. Comfortable, functional rooms. Highly recommended.

I spent a week at Son Menut doing the Mountains and Beaches trail ride. The facility is excellent with a very good selection of horses that are well trained, well behaved and fit for the long days of trekking. The scenery is beautiful with rides to beautiful beaches and small seashore coves along with some riding in the interior of the island to several monasteries located higher in the mountains. The staff are friendly, considerate and helpful, being more than willing to cater to individual needs and preferences. The rooms are comfortable and clean. If you are simply doing a trekking vacation then using the transfer service to and from the Finca is fine as you won't have much time (or energy) to do much else. However, if you are there for lessons and expect to have some free time a rental car might be an option (fairly low cost in Majorca) as you are fairly isolated at the facility but can reach lovely beaches within 25 minutes and much of the island within an hour.

My 12yo daughter and I signed up for the beginners' riding programme - for my sake, as a total novice, rather than hers as she is a regular, confident rider. But Yasmina, our endlessly patient and unfailingly cheerful and encouraging instructor, tailored our lessons to suit us both. I had never ridden before, and was cacking it at the thought of getting on a horse! But after my four days of lessons and trail rides, I was reasonably comfortable trotting and felt confident handling "Gingol", my chilled out mount for the week. The finca is pretty remote so, as I didn't have a car, we were pretty much confined to barracks. But that was no problem as the schedule kept us busy. If you're on a programme, don't think you just turn up and ride! You clean and tack the horses before each session, and clean and untack them afterwards. But I found that an enjoyable part of the process, and felt that it helped me get to know my horse much better. We stayed in one of the cabins close to the main building. They are pretty basic but have a certain charm. The Wifi just about reached our cabin at the end of the row! There's a small but scenic pool, overlooking two of the arenas. And there's a spa area, but the summer heat meant I didn't feel the need for a sauna or steam session! The meals are hearty, the staff are very friendly and accomodating. But it really is all about the horses. They are beautiful, well looked after and extremely well schooled. As the unknown factor is the us, the guests, the instructors will try to match you with an appropriate horse after assessing your skill. Or utter lack of it! We could have gone on another beach holiday as in previous years, but this was a really wonderful shared experience that has given me and my daughter some amazing memories. Big. Thumbs. Up!

We stayed at son menut for a week the end march. I did the sea and mountain trail riding whilst my partner cycled around the island. The finca is in a peaceful area with beautiful countryside. The weather was perfect!!! The transfer from the airport was spot on despite being delayed from the UK for 2 1/2 hours. The rooms are comfortable and roomy. Don't expect any English channels on the TV but the internet worked fine. All the staff are amazing and very helpful. The food is all freshly prepared, I loved the breakfasts. The trail rides were fantastic, my guide was Joe who was a pleasure to be around. If your are a competent rider he will go up a gear!! The horses are very well behaved and perfectly schooled. They have a variety of breeds which is great. The best ride is the beach ride it is amazing, its surreal having a picnic next to the beach!!!Its like a different world! My firm favourite horses were avis and gypsi, forward going but safe :) I had two additional lessons with Steffi one of which was on a dressage stallion. She is very patient and knows what you are capable of........I mainly hack on my horse at home! This holiday is a must for horse owners and non-horse owners, its an amazing experience. There was no mud the whole time is was there yeehhhaaaaaa! I am booked up already for September and I know I wont be disappointed. The whole place runs like clockwork A*************

went on a weeks riding holiday which was trail riding to monastries and twice to the beach, the hotel and pool were excellent, the food moderate, staff did not know what fish we were eating, the horses very nice, some of the saddles didnt fit resulting in horses getting sore, [trail horses] this should be elementary for an established equitation centre,

I stayed here on the Forest and Beaches trail holiday, which was great fun and a good time to visit because it is not too hot, the island is still green, there are flowers everywhere and it is not too crowded. As a newcomer to horse riding I found our guide Joe's tutoring invaluable and with much of the day spent in the saddle each day there was plenty of time to get more familiar with the basic riding skills my group had seemingly learned as children. Joe's commentary about the island was also invaluable - be at the front to benefit fully from it though. I stayed in the main house rather than the log cabins, in a large comfortable twin room which was very rustic, cool and comfortable. Wifi was a little unreliable but was available in the room. Meals were varied and of a good quality but reflect that this is a riding rather than "foodies" holiday location. Picnic lunches, tables, chairs etc were provided when we were on the trail. Overall a great place for a riding holiday and to be recommended.
