New River Gorge Pickleball Retreat, Hot Tub, Games, Family Fun Minutes To Town!

Rustic New River Gorge Getaway – Sleeps 12 – Fire Ring, Games, and Tons of Space!

Tucked away on a quiet country road just outside Fayetteville, this 3 bedroom retreat is your ideal home base for exploring the best of the New River Gorge. Whether you're rafting the Lower New, hiking to Long Point, or exploring the historic Thurmond ghost town, you’re never far from the action, yet you’ll feel a world away under the stars at night.

About the Space
This spacious and rustic home sleeps up to 12 guests with plenty of room to spread out. The kitchen is fully equipped for cooking big group meals, and the beds are cozy and clean, perfect after a full day in the Gorge. A large dining table and open living space make it easy to gather, laugh, and plan your next adventure.

Outdoor Life
The feature of our property are two private pickleball courts. These are exclusively for the use of our guests.
Also outside our spacious house, you’ll find a huge yard with a fire ring that’s just begging for s’mores and storytelling. Play a round of horseshoes, toss some bags in a friendly cornhole match, or bring your own favorite outdoor games. There’s room for it all.
NEW in 2026: 3 disc golf holes have been installed on the lawn!
There's also plenty of parking and flat ground for gear trailers.

There are farmers that share the infrequently traveled one-lane road in front of our house. While our accommodations offer you all of the modern comforts, this is a rural mountain area where wildlife, and rarely a neighbor's dog, comes across the property. The most likely animal sighting is the deer that come to the lawn every morning.

We had an absolutely lovely stay at the Pickleball Retreat. Aside from being clean, organized and very well equipped, the owners were extremely kind and accommodating, offering us fresh eggs, herbs and vegetables from the garden and plenty of activities for the kids (in addition to the pickleball). We spent our days hiking and rafting and looked forward to cooking in and unwinding at the property. The grounds were picturesque, peaceful and beautifully maintained. It was obvious that they took pride in the home and wanted it to make it an enjoyable experience for visitors. We would definitely return for a future stay.

Overall, we enjoyed our stay at the Pickleball Retreat. The owners thoughtfully provided a basket of commonly forgotten items, plenty of firewood for the fire pit, and the hot tub was a great way to relax at the end of the day. We also enjoyed the pickleball courts and had a lot of fun playing. The only issue worth noting was that the home's thermostat was locked in a security box, which was not disclosed in the listing. The house became chilly overnight, and we were unable to adjust the temperature ourselves. The owner contacted me the next day and offered to unlock the thermostat, but since the temperature wasn't uncomfortable enough to require a visit, we declined. We would have preferred to have normal access to the thermostat from the beginning or for this restriction to have been disclosed in the listing. Other than that, everything else met our expectations.
