Activities include skiing, snowboarding, hiking, mountain climbing, snow-shoeing, horseback riding (winter too!), ice climbing, fishing, hunting, rafting, snowmobiling, 4-wheeling, mine exploration, canoeing, kayaking, and much much more.

WHAT A VIEW
Amazing property and set up. All you need is at the house. My only complaint would be the road to the place is a beast. I couldn't imagine it in the snow. All other is amazing - felt like a luxury

Horizon Ridge Getaway
The home was beautiful, clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed. The location struck the perfect balance—remote enough to feel like you’re in your own private oasis, yet close enough to civilization to feel secure. One of the highlights was being able to walk to the Pika Trail right from the house, which was absolutely delightful. Five stars! We will definitely be back!

Mountain getaway
We were looking for an out of the way place to spend a week and we found it. The size was more than we needed for the 2 of us but it is a fantastic layout for either multiple couples(3) of a large family. The house was very clean. The check in and out was a breeze with good communication. We are from Florida(sea level) so acclimatizing to 11,500’ took a day or so but the amenities of the house and the views made it a breeze to relax inside for the day. Highly recommend this house. the house.

Thanksgiving Holiday
We had a very enjoyable time at Horizon Ridge over the 2024 Thanksgiving holiday (Wed-Sun). We had 5 adults and a pet (dog). House was very comfortable and as advertised - kitchen well stocked for us to cook Thanksgiving dinner. Very good communication with Property Manager (only issue was downstairs gas fireplace not working). Views are outstanding as is the neighborhood (Valley of the Sun). We would definitely return and would highly recommend this property.

Horizon Ridge stay was great
We rented Horizon Ridge northwest of Fairplay for 9 nights in late September 2024. Our experience was great. The house was as described. They provided all the information needed on a timely basis. They checked in with us during our stay to see if we needed anything. I can't think of anything else they could have done to make our stay more pleasant. The views were exceptional. The house was way more than we needed of course but it was great having so much room. I'm not sure how the location, property and experience could have been better.

Fantastic!
We've stayed at several cabins in the Fairplay area, and this one ranks WAY up there--like 11,460 ft up there. Rarefied air.
In all seriousness, this is a great property. It's quiet and private, but with a few cabins nearby so you don't feel completely isolated. Very safe vibe. We liked being able to pull our vehicle into the garage to avoid bear issues. Furniture and decor is all super comfortable and the kitchen is nicely equipped. We spent a lot of time out on the deck, and small details like a gate at the top to keep the pup from wandering off just made things easier and more relaxing. I wish we could have stayed a week instead of three nights. We'll be back!
One thing I did not see mentioned in the description is that this cabin is located about a half mile down the road from the start of the Pennsylvania Mountain trailhead and the top of the Pika trail. So, if you enjoy a stroll through an alpine meadow with beautiful flowers or hiking up another 1500 feet or so to a mountain peak, that's all right nearby, within walking distance.

Be prepared during snow season.
Beautiful. Take serious the descriptions. We were warned about MUST HAVE 4WD and we thought we'd be fine as amateurs form south. We weren't. Thanks to local taxi and towing, we did thoroughly enjoy our stay.

Perfect getaway!!
Me and my wife decided the weekend before Labor day weekend to try and find a place in Colorado for us and our 2 dogs to go close to where we could hike and take our Jeep on some trails. Sooo glad we found this place! The only negative thing was we couldn't use the master bedroom ceiling fan/light or the breaker would flip. There is a lamp in there though which was perfectly fine since we were only there to sleep. The view from the top deck is absolutely beautiful!! We would definitely stay here again!
