Haven’t stayed at the hotel, but had lunch at the restaurant. It was late December and very quiet, almost no customers, very relaxing. Service was correct, the meals tasted mainly ok, but absolutely nothing impressive or something to remember for. Wine list was fine.

This hotel was very nice, and well located. My only complaint is that the room was small. There is a complimentary breakfast that was good. We never had dinner at the hotel, so I can't comment on it. The bar was especially nice. We paid a little extra for a Pico view room, but that also put us above the street which is noisy. For some reason the Azores suffers from an abundance of small unmuffled two stroke motorcycles. They are incredibly noisy and one went by the hotel every day at 5am.

We stayed at Hotel do Canal for two nights, and it was a really nice stay. The hotel is very nice and clean and modern, and it’s within walking distance of everything in Horta. We had rainy weather and our outdoor activities fell through one day, but the staff was so helpful with finding other things for us to do. Every day we asked all kinds of questions on restaurants, travel, and activities and they were always very nice and helpful despite our neediness. The WiFi also was decent, and the breakfast was very good for being included—lots of delicious Azorean cheese! We also had a tour through Aerohorta to hike the caldeira of the volcano, and our tour guide Ruben took us there but warned us it was likely going to be too cold and rainy for us but wanted us to decide for ourselves. Indeed it was too much for us, but Ruben instead took us on a beautiful hike on a less windy part of the island and he saved the day. We are grateful for Ruben, and it was our favorite activity in Faial. It was a lovely time, and I really appreciate those people we talked with. We’re already planning another trip to come back in the summertime. We regret not taking the ferry to Pico, and we still need to hike that caldeira!

The rooms were comfortable. It was easy to walk around Horta. The best part may have been the breakfast. Fresh fruit, local cheeses, local meats, fresh pastries, and champagne. The breakfast of champions.

Confortable, excellent location, good attention. We enjoyed there a funny 31st of December dinner and party. Good menu, and so of the music. It was a really good choice. I'll repeat if I go back to Horta.

The rooms on the side with no view are still nice. Quiet, at one end of the harbor. Peter's Cafe is 75 meters down the street. (Peter's changes money and has good food and drink, reasonably priced). Hotel has helpful staff. Bar and restaurant on site. Full breakfast buffet. Parking garage under the hotel is free.

This hotel is located in an ideal place facing to harbour and close to Restaurants. Hotel is clean and services are satisfactory. Excellent breakfast. These are volcanic islands and they do not have beaches. But sceneries are beautiful and lots of greeneries too. A visit to Azores islands is a must in life time.

Great spacious room, spotless clean and with a superb view to Pico Island. The restaurant offers various options for breakfast as well as many 'à la carte' options for lunch and dinner. There's a small spa (jacuzzi, turkish bath, sauna) & gym on the top floor, free to use. The hotel is located right next to the harbor and in the city center. The staff was always super friendly.

Spent a week in the Hotel do Canal as part of a Whale watching trip. It's a modern, friendly hotel. Our room was spotless and had a pleasant view over to Porto Pim. I'm sure the views to the front over the harbour and Pico were even more special. We didn't dine in the hotel. Breakfast was typically European, copious, varied and reliable. There was always plenty of space to find a table. Bar and terrace staff were pleasant and friendly.

This is a modern and spacious hotel, probably developed in the 1990's. There are great views across the harbour, it is spotlessly clean and there is a very good breakfast selection. It is a little dated and soulless though.
