Husband and I spent the night here with his father in rooms #111 and 110. Arrived about 8:00pm and were welcomed by Jane who handled the check-in process efficiently and with a smile. On-site secured parking is €8/day and very worthwhile. Breakfast, which we didn't take) is €14/person and available in the restaurant/bar in the lobby. Rooms, while a little small, were clean and comfortable. Nice towels. Hair dryer in bathroom, in addition to bar soap, hand lotion, and all-in-one liquid body wash/shampoo. Kettle for coffee/tea-making was appreciated, as was the small refrigerator. Heat via radiator, air conditioning via remote control in each room. We opened the window as the weather was perfect. A short 5 minute walk to the wonderful Chartres Cathedral! Some hotel rooms have views of the Cathedral-our rooms had only partial views. When you arrive by car, ignore the "Bus Only" sign at the top of the street. The hotel is in the middle of that block on your right. When visiting Chartres again, I would not hesitate to stay here. Ask for Jane!
Clean room with fantastic view of Chartres cathedral for the day and during the illumination show at night. Walking distance to the train, and market stalls on market days. Good breakfast. Staff helpful in locating meals and sights.
Spacious hotel in heart of Chartres, 5 minutes walk from cathedral. Large bedroom for three, quiet at night, and comfortable beds. Large bathroom. Internet worked well. Car parking on site (8 euro) via gated driveway right next to reception (ask them to open). The main street on to which the hotel faces is closed to through traffic but open for access to the hotel.
The advantage of this hotel that it is only four minute walk from chartres Cathedral. Do tell is rather old but clean. If you're traveling be aware that they do charge eight or 10 euros for parking and parking spaces Limited. Bathrooms were old but clean. Breakfast is 10 or 15 euros and the rather simple but adequate. There is no restaurant in the hotel but there are plenty of restaurants in the area. This is a good place for one night stop if you're visiting the cathedral. If you're looking for newer and cheaper accommodations Luke at the Ibis hotel on the other side of Cathedral that is only seven minute walking distance.
This hotel has all the charm of a 60's concrete blockhouse and needs complete refurbishment to bring it into the 21st Century! The decor is awful, the rooms although clean are spartan and unappealing. The only good things to say are: 1) Good location close to old town, cathedral, shops and station. 2) Very good parking facilities so close to town centre. Breakfast was ok but average.
We had a perfect view of Chartres Cathedral right from our bed (see fotos). The room was nicely furnished, the bed and chairs in a darkish green with gold linings. Toilet was separate from the bathroom, a feature we prefer. Unfortunately, it was not possible hairdryer to take a bath as the drainige could not be shut so it was shower only. The hairdryer was very strong and some bathroom amenities were provided as were bath robes and slippers. There is also a built-in safe. The hotel provides a spacious private parking area (secured) at € 8 per night. The cathedral provides a nightly light show on its facade (at least during the summer season). We skipped that due to bad weather but still were able to watch at least part of it from the comfort of our hotel room.
We were travelling home from the Provence in November and spent a night in Chartres to once again visit the Cathedral. Our room in this pleasant hotel had a lovely view of the Cathedral and it was an easy and pleasant walk to the Cathedral, which we did both in the evening and the next morning. The parking in the underground garage made it easy and we had a very pleasant stay.
We stayed overnight here recently and were very pleased with the accommodation and the friendliness of the staff. The rooms were comfortable and away from the main road so no noise at night. A real bonus was the fact that the underground car park is next door!
Stayed 1night on our way south. Reception staff very helpful with good English. Car park ideally placed at side of hotel. Bedroom was clean, although it is looking very tired. Bed frames, woodwork all could do with a good renovation. Looks quite shabby and not shabby chic! Bathroom sink had a number of cracks in it and shower in bath, although good, did not drain away too quickly. Do not like separate toilet and bathroom, but of course, that is a personal choice. Very close to Cathedral and old town. Plenty of restaurants although the evening we were there a number were closed. Not sure would stay again as quite pricey and not in tip top condition for the price.
My husband and I opted for a romantic weekend getaway and got a good offer at the Timhotel Chartes Cathédrale. We had room 316 where we had a lovely view of the cathédrale. We had a superior double room, champagne and lovely rose petals. Although there's no restaurant at the hotel the Saturday evening is hard to find restaurants if you have no reservation. So réserve in advance. The hotel is about 200metres from the train station. Nicely positioned.
