Not worth the price

The house is old and they do not fo repairs. The door handle on back door is broke off and just laying on a shelf. One bedroom with twin befs was not clean. We had to wash sheets before going to sleep. Only 3 burners work on stove.

Temper expectations

First I want to say that the location was wonderful. Directly on the beach. Easy drive to grocery store and restaurants. The house was clean. I read the other reviews and was prepared for some things . -Bugs: we noticed 2 palmetto bugs in the house during our stay, it’s Florida so no big deal. We were all pretty covered in bites by the end of our stay from the midges outside. Bug spray did not detour them. -Doors: The back door lock was broken. Someone had broken the handle off which made it very difficult to lock. -Master bed room: mattress needs to be replaced, it has two valleys in it. Other 2 bedroom bedrooms were ok -Outside: table umbrella broken, only 3 of the 8 beach chairs were not broken. (Bring your own) -Random items broken through out the house. Examples: no glass on ceiling light, old toilet paper/towel bars broken still half hanging. These things not a big deal just made it feel janky. -Condos on same lot. These guests walk directly to beach beside master bedroom windows. During our stay we had issues with two different condo guests. One family parked in our space behind the house. And the others put up a huge camp site directly on the beach at the end of our walk way. Making our very convenient beach front property very inconvenient because we had to walk around all of there things going back and forth. Chances are you would not have these issues but I was not expecting them when renting a private house. So I conclude saying temper your expectations.

Perfect spot and great communication with host

This was the perfect spot especially with kids! The location makes getting on and off the beach so easy with a great deck to hang out on and get cleaned up from the beach. It was so quiet and beautiful to sit out on the deck first thing in the morning. The sunset was beautiful at this spot. Plenty of chairs, sifters and toys in the shed. The communication with the owner was great. Check in and check out were super easy.

Poor parking situation

We were disappointed in the parking situation. Although there were two spots at the house, nothing prevented people staying at the condo in front of the house from parking in our spaces. We contacted the owner prior to booking to ensure that there would be room

House in poor condition

Mattress is old and caved in, Stove burners (2) not working and missing knob and light doesn't work. A/C unit not old but undersized and couldn't cool down house making it extremely uncomfortable. One kitchen cabinet had a load of rat feces which grossed everyone out. No way to lock the house up when you leave. 6 bath towels were put there for 8 people. My daughter and son-in-law decided not to stay because the place was so disgusting and that truly ruined my trip. I could name quite a few more items but when I looked at the reviews I just thought maybe since it had a 9.6 which is considered exceptional and at $600 per night that it would be okay...worst vacation rental ever! Although you are there to enjoy the beach and the views that does not negate the owners responsibility to provide decent accommodations. I've seen furniture on the side of the road that was in better condition. Watching my brother try to get comfortable on the small wicker furniture that was coming apart was pitiful. The back living room had larger furniture but family found a few cockroaches coming out of the sofa. You might say then why didn't I contact the manager? It's very clear that these complaints have been brought up in the past and nothing was done. I have photos of my complaints if anyone is interested. Just can't understand how this place holds an exceptional rating.

Location was stunning!

The house was charming with that old Florida feel. It is perfectly positioned mere steps away from the ocean. The pristine sand and crystal-clear turquoise waters offered endless enjoyment for the kids, who reveled in swimming and playing on the beach daily. The house was furnished with beach toys, including noodles and a boogie board, and an assortment of metal shell diggers allowed us to collect a variety of stunning seashells. A fully stocked kitchen and the option for grocery delivery from Walmart afforded us the luxury of cooking in our own space or exploring local dining options. We were informed by locals that Manasota Key is a hidden gem, a truly special place. Our experience was simply delightful. I would highly recommend eating at The Waverly Restaurant which is located right down the road and the food was absolutely delicious. There are also a bunch of cute shops near by to check out during the day. And at night, the sunsets are absolutely breathtaking. The host, Andrew was accommodating as well. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

Having Stayed at this property in 2021, I assumed there would be updates because of the large price increase. However, other than the new paint job on the outside, the Inside remained the same. The large TV in the den did not work. There was a sour smell Coming from the air conditioner. The water pressure in the main bathroom was very low and the mattress was terrible. The last time we stayed in 2021 , my husband was bitten by something while sleeping. He slept in the same bed on this trip and was bitten head to toe again. I can only imagine that some thing is living in the mattress. We won’t be renting this house again. It’s a shame because the location is perfect and it could be a beautiful place to stay.

Great peaceful location

Property is located right in front of the beach. House is spacious. Got everything we needed like pots and plates and silverware. Also has a washer and dryer very convenient. House is outdated and we did see a few roaches. Cleanliness was not the greatest but our overall experience was great. We stayed 5 nights and the price was fair considering that it is a convenient location. It was nice to be able to walk out to the beach whenever we wanted without having to carry umbrellas and chairs. The beach is quite peaceful not crowded at all. My two little boys really did enjoy it. Check in was a breeze. We would definitely stay here again.

Just perfect

Our family took our first ever vacation here. It took me a long time to book because I wanted to find the perfect place. This beach house was it! I am so happy I booked this location. It had everything we needed to help make everything memorable. There was 7 of us and there was more than enough room for everyone to do their own thing and enjoy our time together. I appreciated the private parking. There is also a storage area that had beach umbrellas, sand sifters, beach chairs, beach toys and beach towels. All the beds were comfy and there is also an additional LIVING ROOM that is not pictured with a huge sectional couch and TV. The kiddos loved it! The wrap around deck was great with an outdoor shower to wash the sand off. The sunset views are amazing and there is a PRIVATE beach. We had family staying in another condo down the road and they were trying to book it for their next trip!! The ONLY cons I experienced is the door facing the Gulf did not lock (I did let the property manager know) We were always there anyway and just pushed the furniture in front of it so our toddlers couldn't escape throughout the night. In the bedrooms, there are only sheer curtains so people walking by can see directly inside. We just changed our clothes in places that they couldn't see. No biggie! I absolutely love this place and will always cherish the memories made here. I pray I get another opportunity to stay here, its THAT GOOD! BOOK IT! I promise you won't be disappointed.

Bad shape

Needs work. Beds are terrible. Window coverings give no privacy. Heater didn’t work and no way to lock when leaving other than to put a pad lock on the door. View is nice.

Loved it!!

I didn't want to leave! The house is just perfect and right on the beach! We will definitely stay here again. The only thing, it got chilly the last 2 nights we were there and the heat on one side of the house didn't work. Other than that, you couldn't ask for a better house.

Perfect beach house!

This house was great for our family. There are two living areas that are separate enough so everyone has room to themselves. The location is gorgeous with ocean views from most of the house. Nice big deck with lots of seating and beach supplies. Everything was clean and the kitchen well stocked. Will definitely come back.

New Years Getaway

Last minute getaway

Wonderful place !! The ocean is literally just steps away. From the deck you have great views of the ocean so if you don’t like the sand you can see everything from the deck . Close to several places to eat and grocery stores . Easy check in and check out . Definitely highly recommend this house . And it’s pet friendly which is a huge plus . Our fur babies travel with us everywhere we go . Thanks for a great last minute getaway !

Fun at the round house!

Our family loves the quiet peacefulness of Englewood Beach and we were thrilled to finally stay in the round house! We admired it for years and finally got to enjoy a nice stay for our son’s birthday celebration. It’s a very clean property including the tile floors - no sand on them when we entered which is unheard of usually at any beachfront property. The kitchen was very well equipped with everything needed to cook a variety of meals. Beds were comfortable and 2.5 baths were convenient for 3-4 people. Andrew was responsive and helpful and we enjoyed our weekend thoroughly. For anyone not familiar with the area, this house is direct beachfront with its own private large deck leading straight out to the beach. There is a condo directly behind the house which does require entry to house parking by a narrow drive. We were a bit sad to see that built so close but everyone wants a beach view! Front entry lock could use an upgrade but we were able to enter & exit without much trouble. We would certainly stay again next time we’re headed to Englewood. It’s a really nice house!

Fablous beach house

We loved our stay. The house was amazing it was like 2 homes in one. My son and his friend had their privacy and i had mine. The owners were amazing, communication was fablous and any issues we had were soon resolved in monutes. Woukd stay again but this time longer....much much longer......
