Overall we loved our stay at the Carbella cabin. It was a perfect size for our family of 4 with beautiful views. We loved hiking around the cabin and we grilled pretty much every night (propane grill). We also saw tons of elk in the mornings!
Suggestions:
We had a difficult time trying to find the entrance to get in the cabin gate at night. It is shortly after mile marker 16 (north of Gardiner). We also noticed that the binder at the cabin had a lot of suggestions, but for places in Bozeman, Ennis, Big Sky, etc (all an hour away). This cabin is about a 20 minute drive to Gardiner and the North entrance into Yellowstone. Plenty of things to do within that area!
The satellite for the TV did not have good reception. Maybe bring some DVDs if you want to watch something? The Wifi does work though!
We loved the Yellowstone Hot Springs, which was about 10 minutes in between the house and Gardiner.
There are not large grocery stores but you can find what you need at the Emigrant General Store (Sinclair Gas station) or Gardiner Market both of which are about 15 minutes either direction.
The washer and dryer worked great! There was an ironing board, but no iron. It all worked out since we popped the clothes in the dryer to fluff them up. Also, there wasn't a dish washer, so bring paper plates if you don't want to hand wash a lot of dishes.
