What can you say Harbour Island is a wonderful eclectic charming island, and Pink Sands is equally the same. We arrived with our three year old in tow which we were concerned about but the staff at Pink Sands were amazing. They had a baby sitter ready when we needed a break, who was awesome with out son and the gentlemen managing the beach had everything a toddler could ask for. Truly and amazing experience. The rooms are somewhat dated, but honestly having been to Harbour Island seven times if you know the island, you know that a slightly dated room is a super small price to pay for a magical island like this. And you can't beat the views. Thanks for an amazing Easter vacation!

By the time you get in the water taxi on your way over to Harbour Island you start to feel the island vibe and after a day or two at the Pink Sands you will be completely immersed into the island way of life. Exclusive cottages some with stunning views of the ocean help make this resort a special place to stay. Having breakfast at the Blue Bar and watching the sun rise never gets old. The food is excellent too, with the menu choices at the Blue Bar and fine dining at Malcolm51 makes the resort a place you never want leave.

I wanted so much more from this hotel given the price point ($775 per night). I had high hopes when entering through the lobby and common area. The decor is reminiscent of British colonial Bahamian. However - once you walk into your cottage the interior may as well be a Ramada Inn. Bland, '80s style fake wood bed and side tables. No dresser, no art work, no character. One small upholstered chair - no ottoman and a stiff wooden chair/stool. So if you want to sit back and relax one person gets a comfy chair - the other has to sit on a wooden stool? We brought in one of the outdoor chairs just to allow the two of us to sit together. Run down bathroom (cracked tiles, worn grout, rusty fixtures). We stayed in Bird Caye a garden view cottage. I've paid less in other resorts around the world and had much better accommodations. All that said, once you walk onto the beach you are transported to one of the most beautiful, pristine beaches I've ever seen. The beach attendants were wonderful - welcoming you with a towel and lovely chaise lounges under a palm covered cabana. I sort of like the aged look of the place and it has 'character' but I felt almost insulted at the condition and furnishings of our cottage. As with the rest of the island, food and beverages are really expensive - the Blue Bar restaurant has a spectacular view of the beach but a lunch consisting of two sandwiches, chips and a bottle of water is $90!! Overall I have mixed feelings about Pink Sands - the staff were friendly and accommodating and the location is spectacular but beyond that it's very average.

I think the rooms need upgrading especially the bathroom showers. The property needs to be sprayed for bugs on the stone steps and patio along with mosquitoes. TV's in the rooms need to be bigger so the average person can see the screens from the bed. The pink sands are not pink as shown in the advertised photos.

Beautiful resort that dates back to the glamorous days of travel. Loved the privacy of the cottages and the beautiful beach. The sunrise was amazing! The staff was very polite and helpful. We rented a golf cart and traveled around the island eating at different places for dinner. The food at the Blue Bar was delicious. The free range chickens and roosters are charming. They roam the entire island. I loved them and did not mind at all the 5 am crowing.

Happy childhood memories led to a delightful 4-day return: and we will come again. Pink Sands offers one of the most glorious beaches in the world - overlooked by the stupendous Blue Bar. Fortified by the finest Planters' Punches, we enjoyed leisurely walks and the warm sea; and wandering around the pretty town. Our cottage, with sea views, was roomy and very well appointed and we were beautifully looked after by Karen. The Bahamas are expensive and, if there is a criticism of Harbour Island as a whole, it would be that the food is adequate rather than inspiring. Pink Sands is a magnificent destination both for children and those passing as grown-ups. There is certainly room for all. The resort has lovely gardens and very friendly and capable staff. Pink Sands is quite a venue for the young-at-heart even when the knees begin to creak.

For the price point there should be more attention to detail. Room size was tremendous, bathroom large as well. Walk in closet was large, would have been nice to have a dresser based on the size of the room. Location fantastic, walk to beach on private path, very private room.

Where to start? Mr Kym Nielsen first gets very high marks for hiring a fantastic staff and aspiring to get the little things right. (e.g., champagne upon arrival, a hand written welcome note waiting for you in the room (from him!), Fuji water in the cottages restocked daily, large bottles of shampoo/conditioner, turn down service, ice service, cookies delivered every night, etc.). More importantly, when the water filtering machine was down for repairs he bought ice from town and carried on smartly meeting his customers’ needs. Thank you Mr. Nielsen. Larry, our bartender at the Blue Bar is not just a conversationalist, but a tour guide and genuinely one of the nicest and kindest of all the people we met during our stay. In fact, on his day off he stopped us on the street in town to make sure we found the shop that we asked him about. Genuinely solid and much appreciated. Thank you Larry. And then there is Jeff, the guy on the beach that makes everything work! His charm and smile really made a difference for us and allowed us to enjoy our time that much more! He is the MVP of the Pink Sands operation IMO. And finally Travis - super nice, a friendly smile (always) and a "can-do" positive attitude. In fact, he greeted us by name on the first day and makes you feel like you are the only guest he cares about. Well done Travis! Mr. Nielsen, you should take note of Larry, Jeff and Travis' value as they help you close the deal for repeat customers. The whole staff was really fabulous and that is what makes Pink Sands a wonderful beach experience! The Cottages are large and private, just as we hoped. The bed was legit comfortable (thankfully!) with lots of pillows! There are other nice accommodations but Pink Sands offers a unique experience. Heck, each cottage comes with its own rooster!! Just kidding, but they are all over…. We will repeat!

We visited the Resort for a fashion shoot and loved it. The people are so nice and polite, it was amazing. They really made our stay perfect and supported us in all matters. Thanks a lot for a beautiful business stay.

Quiet relaxing resort. The food and service at Malcolm 51 was amazing and the atmosphere in the garden terrace was spectacular. Quality of food and swrvice paralleled the Rock House and the Landing.. Definitely planning to return.
