Accommodating staff , clean room and spectacular view of the island

El Nido is an expensive place. Cadlao Resort is reasonably-priced with a good view. The road going to the hotel is very bumpy, but I just love how they are willing to pick you up from almost any location in El Nido proper.

My stay was lovely, I would definitely recommend to a friend and even return myself. The resort and grounds are gorgeous, in an equally beautiful part of the Philippines.

Cadlao resort is a really beautiful and peaceful place. It's a short walk (15-20 mins, very beautiful walk too) into the main town, El Nido. We rented a bungalow with a sea view and it was gorgeous. The private island hopping tour is well worth it, especially because you get to go to a secluded private beach/lagoon owned by Cadlao resort. The rooms are clean with spa-like decor. It's very relaxing. There isn't a tv or reliable internet access anywhere on the grounds, so if you need that, it's not here. You can rent motor bikes at the front entrance which you can ride into town or even up to Nacpan beach which we did. My only complaint was the wait staff at the restaurant and bar. They were judgmental and repeatedly talked trash on the guests (perhaps they should be advised that some of us know the local language!). After talking bad about the guests, they would all laugh and then say something pleasant to the guest like "of course, sir/madam". I repeatedly heard them call guests "alcoholics" for ordering more than one drink at the pool. Overall, Cadlao was a nice place to spend a couple nights in paradise. Before that we stayed in town to experience the culture of El Nido. Both offer different experiences. If you're looking for high-end, this is a good place to go - but be prepared for snooty staff.
