Stayed for 1 night, the check in was good, the room old but spacious although no tissues, towels so small, no tea and coffee. Breakfast was below average, not very inspiring! Generally for the price the hotel was very outdated and could use a full renovation, wouldn't return.
I don't even know where to start. Lets just skip the check in experience and put the lack of courtesy and the receptionists referral to me on a first name basis as early hours check in tiredness. I even thought it was funny that during check in the receptionists wouldn't even look at me and that they talked about me (in front of me) on a third name basis, that is until my key was ready, and then suddenly it was "michal", first name basis like we were buddies. so lets fast forward to day 2 shall we? So there I am at reception 4 pm, long day at the beach and of course left my key in the room... I was second in line so i had to wait about 10 minutes, they don't seem very efficient, but its cool, then as I'm about to get my turn someone pushes in front. So far we all know this story right? So I ignore him and turn to the the receptionist who saw me standing there and say "excuse me". The clerk looks at me and says "wait" this guy only wants a key it wont take long. And all attempts to tell her I was first and also waiting for a key... deaf ears. Seriously!!! Ok so we all have this happen to us at "3 star hotels" don't we? But it gets better! Eventually the clerk asks me what I want, and when she realizes it also a key she says "sorry i thought something else". This just made me angry and I told her so, simple manners / politeness dictates this shouldn't even have happened, and she should have had the basic decency to at least ask me if I mind waiting. Any way I decide \i don't want to accept this and turn to the clerk next to her. I ask if there is a manager and am told yes, so since it wasn't obvious I ask to speak to the manager. The clerk says "which manager there are lots" By this stage I'm thinking faulty towers right! But I'm also seriously in la la land mode by now. So I ask him if he is serious and tell him that I want his manager right now. At this point this girl shouts at me to watch my mouth and not to speak to him like that! That's the receptionist right, (the one now telling me to watch my mouth) from there it turns into a shouting match with this girl calling me "cheeky" and aggressive and a few other things, and unbelievably I find myself being shouted at by the girl at reception and a hotel guard standing behind me!!!! Disgusting, shameful, unbelievable. So eventually a manager walks up and asks to go to his office. I agree and of course invite the guard. the guard then shouts telling me she will throw me out of the hotel along with a few choice swear words thrown in. The manager gives the usual story of how they have hundreds of happy guests and we all make mistakes and such. No attempt to stop his workers and ask how exactly does a shouting match happen with a guest in the hotel lobby? No attempt to try solve the issue , just so sorry... In my opinion not enough. Automatically the guest is wrong. what does that remind me of.. oh yes american airlines passengers that go crazy and are then thrown out of the plane.... I have never been so humiliated at a hotel in my life. I'm not even going to discuss the run down state of the hotel, and the 3 days old salad in the breakfast dining room. I'm leaving, and going to another hotel, I wont ever be coming back here again. P.S: Hotels.com were fantastic they were supportive, refunded me the night and helped me book another normal hotel. This hotel could learn a thing or two about customer service from them.
The Nova Like is a tourist class hotel which is somewhat ageing with some renovations having occurred. The hotel is some fifteen minutes walk from the Eilat beaches and not too far from a good array but of shops. The units have a balcony, a kitchen-dining-lounge room and a separate bedroom and bathroom. Despite having a kitchen area and a jug only two small cups, two teaspoons and two small tumblers are provided -- nothing else, not even tea bags or coffee. Similarly, only limited amenities are provided in the bathroom and the hair dryer must be borrowed from reception. The rooms are spacious, well-furnished with lots of storage space. The buffet breakfast offerings are limited but we f good quality. There was a chef at an egg station but unfortunately, as I don't speak Hebrew and he didn't speak English (beyond being able to say "I can't speak English") I was unable to order two eggs easy-over and, as my miming was below-standard, I had to settle for the pre-prepared scrambled eggs. It is not a five- or four-star establishment but provides for a comfortable stay. The staff (reception, dining room and housekeeping) were all very friendly and helpful.
nice and simple hotel, comfy room, 1 pool, breakfast was ok. location in Eilat is good if you d'ont want to be 1st line to the sea the price was nice and service decent free under ground parking below the hotel
The staff here was helpful enough but the place looks like a budget hotel. For people from the US it seems pretty low end. The hallways reminded us of an old-time steamship with metal ceilings and stainless steel trim along the walls. Rooms were spacious but extremely modest. It did have an outdoor pool that nobody used. Breakfast was mediocre but did have a lot of selection. Also, note that this is not on the ocean.
We were very happy with Nova Like Hotel. The Stuff was nice and helpful in any question. The breakfast was fresh and delicious and as a vega I could choose from a lot of things to eat. The room was as we expected, it was cleaned every day nicely. We used the bikes of the hotel too. It was a lovely place to stay for this beautiful week. It is not that close to the beach but actually just next to the bus station where you can get everywhere and also the walking is nice too keeping you fit. 😉 Thank you for everything!
Family style hotel very accommodating & helpful with making the best of local attractions. Rooms well maintained & clean, we had half board with good range of more than adequate selection of food. Thank you
We stayed in this hotel four days. Our little suit consisted of two pleasant rooms with a fridge and an electric pot for water. Tea and coffee were not supplied but we had our own. Bathroom was small. Decor in style of 1970s - looking retro in a cool way. Our balcony was overlooking the swimming pool area. I enjoyed sitting on our balcony in the afternoon with a cup of tea and watching the sunset. The breakfast was included and offered all the basics in a kosher way. We walked to the Red Sea promenade from our hotel. It was not a long distance but we had to go by the airport. There is a good Brazilian restaurant just next door to Nova Like hotel and it is open on Sabbath. The hotel offers all the basics . Has a synagogue, swimming pool and gym. I would stay again.
The best value for money ! Highly recommend. We had a corner suite , large balcony , the bed very comfortable and even got some fruits wine and chocolate, all was just perfect. We will definitely return back there.
I had forgotten just how welcoming everyone is at the Nova Like, especially Patricia at Reception who is an angel. I had a corner suite with a large balcony for no extra cost. Excellent breakfast, refridgerator in room and kettle. Plenty of space, furnishings a bit tired...otherwise 5*. Thank you for a great break in a great City.
