Staff was ready for our large group upon arrival with a welcome drink. The food presentation was beautiful, especially the desserts and the breads were yummy. Great location along the boardwalk with shopping right outside the door. Checkout was quick.
Great service, good food, weather was nice and comfortable, the view over the red sea was excellent. Shops for souvenirs and forgotten travel items are within easy walking distance. Plenty of activities to do within a short bus or cab ride.
Beautiful arrangement of flowers greeted us in the lobby. Great food, delightful people, clean rooms, and all around wonderful stay. Kobi (breakfast cook) quickly whipped up a perfectly done omelet. Lots of great breads. Cheeses that don't end! Salads without end! The food was absolutely the best! The staff were helpful, polite and delightful. This is a great place to stay.
The position of this large hotel is excellent near all the main facilities. Large pool, heated in winter ( March ). The food is excellent with the selection of kosher food amazing, and certainly the Friday night meal somehow surpasses the daily evening meals. We were half board and had no need to have any lunch due to the quantity and quality of the breakfast. Our room was bright, clean and overlooking the sea. The room had a fridge which was useful for drinks. My package included a daily English newspaper, but unlike the Dan hotels were the Jerusalem Post is delivered to the room I had to collect the paper from the conceirge desk. However he was rarely there. The reception staff were off hand they would not give me the newspaper. Also on our check in I was told that I was on a bed and breakfast basis, which was wrong. I had to get out my documents to show that I was half board. He was not convinced saying that the computer says ..... I had to wait a while for copies to be taken of my documents then given my key without an apology or reasons for the discrepancy. I would have given the hotel 5 stars but for the poor customer service.
This was our group's 4th hotel in 6 nights during a full tour of Israel, so we may have lost our objectivity. However, the Leonardo Plaza Eilat fit in with a pattern we had seen in other hotels on our tour. Great location, attentive service and worn out properties. The hotel needs a facelift soon or it will loose international groups like ours. Examples of issues we experienced: * Our room was on a mezzanine level that oversaw the lobby/dining room. I asked Reception if we could be moved to a quieter location - we needed some rest. We were told there was only noise during brief periods. Instead, there was only quiet during one brief period - 1am to 5am. * The room was very small with limited amenities. We had to put a suitcase on the couch since there was no floor space. * The tissue holder pulled off the bathroom wall the first time my wife needed a tissue. *My bedside light did not function. These issues were offset by friendly staff who tried to accommodate our needs. We had fun sessions in the lobby bar, well attended to by the waiters. The dining room staff were very pleasant, and the food was enjoyable. While the driveway was too small for our bus, the doormen helped getting our bags in and out of the hotel. Eilat is an interesting city in a more interesting location - at the intersection of Israel, Jordan and Egypt. It is a popular Israeli resort location and the Leonardo Plaza Hotel is well located on the "boardwalk". We were there a brief time, but left satisfied with everything but a building that needs upgrading to meet the quality of it staff and surroundings.
My wife stayed at the hotel while attending a big scientific conference a week ago. The hotel has very helpful and pleasant stuff, but this is the only positive thing in this hotel. Starting form hair all over the bed and ending with very very dirty bathroom, this hotels offers you disgusting atmosphere in the room. The corridors are also very dirty and not maintained on a daily basis. As a small example: used plasters are all over (for more than just one evening or day)! However, the most terrible thing was that my wife was locked outside on a balcony at 6:30AM because of the bad lock mechanism of the balcony's door. She was fortunate to have a cell phone with her to call the receptionist and call for help! Could you imagine the same situation with a child or in the middle of the night without cell phone? The door was not fixed, no apologies, no transfer to another room! The room is very noisy (because of the promenade and generators surrounding the hotel) and dark. Another option - room facing a parking lot and the hotel's back door (garbage cans etc) The breakfast: cold cuts (cheese etc) were not fresh!!! The butter was definitely thaw and frozen many many times! Thank you, Leonardo, for the unforgettable stay!
We went to Eilat mid February Weather was not so good but we enjoyed a Great week in this hotel perfectly located with best of class service ! Congratulation to the reception desk especially to Sam and Ali! Really top at any time , breakfast, dinner , room service
We were 3 couples who stayed in this hotel for 8 days (25.01.-02.02.17). The hotel is clean, nice and has big and spacy rooms with balcony - view over the sea and city. This hotel had a nice lobby, bar and a large diningroom. At the dinner at 6 pm too many People were "fighting" for their place in the queu. A man was sweeping the floor during all our meals. This could be limited to before and after the meals. Not when we are sitting at the table and the man is sweeping the floor around us. This is not estetic. The staff was polite and service-minded. Unfortunately the main swimmingpool was not accessible because they were restoring and repairing it. Just the small pool for kids was available - also for us. But we got permition to swim and bath in Rimonim hotel next to our hotel. For vacation in a warmer season I could go there again close to the sea, promenade and shoppingcenter.
Leonardo Plaza is very central and convenient, surrounded by restaurants, shops and attractions and the seaview from its balconies is priceless. Our first impression wasn't very good. Rooms are slightly dated and tired, but (and that is what made the whole difference) the stuff is very attentive and helpfull. We were spoilt with goodies and freebies and a very good attitude, in response to our demands, especially by Sam from reception. We'll be back.
We stayed for five nigits at the hotel. Both the breakfasts and the dinners are excellent. There is a large buffet with many dishes and Theo change it every day. The staff is very helpful. We sure will come back again!
