Left high and dry

After a four hour drive to the property, and upon checking in, we (a family of six) were told that our reservation could not be honored regardless of our confirmation, due to some unexplained “emergency” at the hotel. We were never called or provided an email by Orbitz cancelling us. The person at the hotel desk was callous to our situation and told us to take it up with Orbitz. We received no assistance or compensation trying to relocate. We were forced to find a residence at the last minute in Eilat, one of the busiest places in the Middle East. The last minute change was extremely expensive and difficult to find. With listed properties and customer service like this, I’ll stick to other ways of booking my rooms in the future.
