Crowne Plaza Hotel Eilat0.0 out of 5.0

The hotel staff are just lovely and accommodating. Especially if you consider challenges they have with some of the guests. This was my first visit in Eilat in 25 years, and my first ever at this hotel (i usually vacation at the Dead Sea several times a year) and the staff identified me as so, and we were upgraded to the top floor suite that included the most amazing balcony and accommodations. We were also given free wine, and late check-out to compensate for some issues that were not totally their fault. This is not a real five star hotel, and there is a lot of room to improve cleanliness as well as security to enforce non-smoking and basic "dont put your dirty feet on the lobby couch" for visitors, but considering some of the visitors (which i would vote to ban), once you were nice and kind to the staff -they reciprocated and were very nice to us. We had breakfast and dinner included, and both meals had so many options, it was easy to feel full and satisfied. My companion even got a lovely plate of gluten-free options. The Spa was intimate and worth the extra pay (we each got massages, each day -and they were great!). Location is great. I will return once i locate a time that is not a national or religious holiday to avoid the masses. The suite was spacious, and lovely. and again the staff: great people.
Reception staff were nice and the breakfast spread is reasonable. Hotel room meets the basic requirements but room furniture is dated and not maintained. Another disappointment was the parking - we read that underground parking is available for guests, but were turned away as their parking is (always) full.
We recently went on a family vacation to Eilat and Stayed at the Crowne Plaza Eilat for 1/2 our trip. This was the worst experience I have ever had dealing with the Travel or Hospitality industry ever. We initially booked 2 nights using IHG Rewards Club Points via the american call center. They were Courteous, Polite and Helpful. My wife told them how many people we are, and how many nights we want to stay. The reservation was confirmed within minutes and everyone was happy. A couple of days later we called the Crowne Plaza Eilat to ask if we can extend the stay for another night. They said since we booked with points we have to do it through the IHG points center. That evening we called the points center, and they said to change a reservation we need the hotels approval based on availability and they are sending the request over. Next morning We call the hotel to get an answer and they have no Idea what we're talking about but that there are plenty of empty rooms for the nights we wanted to extend. After numerous calls back and forth we were told we cant get extra nights. We later called the hotel to ask about something, and we were told that the room is for 2 adults and a child, but no room for the 2nd child although we specifically said that we are coming with 2 children and a baby. another round of endless calls between the hotel and the rewards center. Overall we made over 20 calls, and were told that there is a problem with our reservation over 4 times in one month. We finally checked in and after a long day, and late to bed were awakened at 8 in the morning due to construction going on upstairs! Who does construction in a hotel, during vacation season, at 8 in the morning ?? On top of that, it seems that although the hotel advertises free breakfast both online and in print in the rooms, it seems that IHG Rewards Club Members booking with points are not eligible for free amenities such as breakfast. This was the single worst experience I've ever had with a hotel, or in the travel industry in general and I've had my share of bad luck while traveling.
The room we stayed in was with stained carpet, dirty towels and used soap on the sink. Also the light switch on the bed was broken with wires exposed. But the most disgusting thing was two chunks of hair under the decorative bed cover. The service was friendly but useless, asked for some toilet paper from the reception on our way out but never got it
We where at the hotel in august 2017 for the first time and... last. The room has a very dirty carpet. very very noisy lobby ..and no body from the staff to enforce rules, you just can't staying their. But the worst is the service: you have to call twice or more the guest service to get response and you ask for something as bringing towel they bring you the number of towel they want not what you ask for.. terrible. The corridor to the elevator has a very very bad smell. Like the smell of garbage... I want to make it clear that there are good hotels in Eilat, but not this one.
We spent two days In this hotel. The room we got 619 was in bad shape. The Niagara didn't work. The shower with mold, the sink was leaking and the floor fload coz of that. They charged us 275$ per night 550$ total. I could find a nice deal abroad with that price. Never coming back to this hotel. Bad choice.
Crown plaza hotel (Holiday Inn chain) - Ejlat. 2016. We stay 3 nights in the hotel. We get room no 111 on first floor, with view to the pool and marina. When was activity in the pool, it was very noisy in the room. The room was big but the furniture was old. Lighting switch next to the bed was broken. You had to get out of bed to turn on the light. Drawers come out of the tracks. The cleaning was so-so. It cud be better. The breakfast and the diner were surprisingly good. Delicious and varied food. Free Wi-Fi in hotel (you get password). Close to the hotel is small shopping center (super pharm, electronic, mini market....) 500 meters from the hotel is ice center (big shopping center with ice rink, and simulators not only for kids, cafe and more). I advice you make reservations for the WOW show. You don't be sorry. The price was 130 shekels (about 32$) but if you stay in Isrotel chain hotels the price was 80 shekels (about 20$). Don't take the first or second row because it was show with water end you cud be wet. The enter is forbidden for children under 4 years old. We have row 8 seats 28 and 29 and it was in the middle. The beach is about 1km from the hotel. You can go there thru the bridge from the hotel until you see another bridge from the right side, and then go to left side or cross the next bridge (closer to the beach) . On the beach ice cafe cost 18 shekel (4.5$ or 4€). Hotel Prices: Coffee 10-15 NIS Tea 12 NIS Beer 19-27 NIS Alcohol 32-52 NIS Salads in the hotel bar about 50 NIS Prices in the center close to the hotel: Corona beer - bottle 10 NIS Heineken beer 7.5 NIS Fruit Smoothie about 0.5 liter 23 NIS Ice coffee 10-15 NIS Ace passionflower 15-18 NIS
I visited here before and I keep coming back. Why? because they care! The people of the hotel are welcoming, smiling and always willing to help. I wrote at the past that the hotel should go through some innovation and I know that they did it in some rooms but they did not finish yet. However, the over all experience is VERY good and there is no doubt that I will come again.
Don't walk as far away from this hotel as possible. It is a relic from the past without any charm. It's old, it's tired, it's in desperate need of window washers, carpet cleaners and at the very least a fresh coat of paint. The safe was missing it's door. But adding insult to injury the shower head emitted water in two directions; into the shower and all over the bathroom. Upon my return to the hotel, after a lengthy hike in 100 degree temperatures, I was told the shower issue had been taken care of. WRONG! The only difference between the first room and the second was that the safe had a door and the shower water pretty much stayed in the shower. Same dirty carpets, stained rugs, filthy paint etc. "Security" guy in front didn't even look up from his phone when I asked him a question. Only thing missing were the bugs.
We have for fast weekend with kids to open the summer vacation season. We got room with share doors, one was bigger than the other, no complains so far. The weak point is the maintenance and holding the level of the room see in the pictures. The entrance of the hotel is welcoming wide and open space, dining room is big enough and nice (we had bad smell we sure they'll fix it). Swimming pool is o.k. plus, towels keep coming, cleaning is good inside and outside the pool, please add more beds and shades around the pool. The food has good variety, delicious, well cocked from main to desert. Service is slow, sometimes very slow and the season hasn't started yet. The location is fine walk distance from main crowded places such as Ice mall, beach is a bit far, consider use a car/taxi. View from the room is directed to the local Marin. Parking inside the hotel is very small 1st win, so if you took your time parking will cost you or you'll have to walk quite a distance from the hotel, disables can park but very limited, the access to the entrance is comfortable (sharp decline incline). 3 elevators super slow and weekend only 2 are free use. Summery it nice and fine hotel to stay for 3-4 days
