IHG please remove your name from this hotel before the damage to your reputation is permenant. The staff was extermely rude and unhelpful. We attempt to park in the garage to be told the garage is full. We pull up to the front. No bell person to help with luggage and the only person sitting in the front claims not to speak English. The reservation clearly states non-smoking room, the room was full of cigarette burns. Room was dirty. We should have looked at trip advisor reviews before booking. Lesson learned
We are frequent worldwide travelers-just checked in here. Our preference is Hilton or Marriott hotels whenever possible....but never have issues with Holiday Inn so we chose that brand as well. Do not expect ANY luxury-or even a tidy clean quiet room-even at $255/night! We pull up to unload at the front entrance and wait while 5 other cars ahead unload...zero help with luggage-surprise no valet, no parking either and no one but a crabby security girl sitting outside the front door basically yelling at us to move the car-as we are removing luggage on our own. The hotel parking garage refused us entry- we are told it is full? So basically -to bad so sad for you -go find someplace else to park?! Are you kidding me?! I was expected to go park around the block and drag luggage to the front entrance up the hill-are you frigging kidding me Crowne Plaza?! SMH... Amazing...they did miraculously find an available spot for us to park in the garage only after I went to the front desk and had a fit-and guess what folks?!-there were *many* available parking spots in the garage when we go inside past the nasty rude garage attendant so WTH Crowne Plaza?! Not ONE hotel employee said something as simple as 'hello welcome to the Crowne Plaza"... Ok then...we get to the room and omg-filthy, dirty, in disrepair and obvious lack of maintenance throughout this entire hotel! Uggh -see my pics of filthy tub with heaven only know what chunks inside...a huge gross black hairball on the filthy worn flooring...carpeting full of ? Cigarette burns? even though we requested specifically a NON SMOKING room!...and I will admit after the parking fiasco they supposedly upgraded us to a suite and provided a free drink voucher-all I can say is Crowne Plaza take your name off this dump-sincerely an American wishing we booked ANY of the other surrounding obviously much nicer + more cared for and maintained hotels. Holiday Inn -how sad-this review is coming to you from an IHG rewards club member. This hotel-honestly not even close to Crown Plaza standards-any cheap local $50 hotel will be cleaner, quieter and in better overall condition than this dump. Stay elsewhere!!! Photos-1)stained shoddy lobby seating 2)hairball 3)dirty carpeting in hallway to our room 4)disgusting dirty tub 5)corner of cruddy shower 6)moldy shower door 7)mold and filth extends up entire shower door 8)door to bath in such disrepair-even the stain is totally worn away covered with filth! And lastly here since their wi-fi is so suckishly slow to the point of ridiculous just stay on your cell and use data and save yourself the aggravation...again worst grossest hotel ever! On the plus side -I’m grasping at trying to find any positive-view was nice but average and we will only stay 1 night!
For: Spacious rooms Pool Huge buffet-based restaurant Many rooms face the marina Against: A struggle to charge extras to our room Impersonal Don't choose if you want peace and quiet! Conclusion: A big bed box, characterless but suits the resort.
I had been at this hotel in December 2017. Regretfully, I did not have the time to write this review sooner. Of all the hotels I visited in Israel, theis hotel had the most outstanding breakfast buffet. I am primarily writing this review to highly commend the hotel manager Mr. JAWAD ABU SIRI (I think that is the correct spelling). Upon arrival he made sure that we were pleased with our accommodations. He was most gracious and helpful in assuring we had a most pleasant stay. Although I was hesitant to book this hotel based on some reviews, Mr Siri was an excellent host and based on his kindness and attention we would certainly return here. The hotel in general was decent. Breakfast Buffet was superior. Location very good.
We arrived as part of a package group tour. Change over day was disorganised & some guests had to wait longer than the stated check in time. B Overall appearance of the hotel looked good. However we were soon to find a lot of disappointments. Carpeting in corridors leading to rooms was unclean. Our room was spacious with excellent views over the Laguna. Room was showing wear & tear & cries for refurbishing, although the 2 pictures on the walls are nice. Wash basin cracked, surroundings of the furniture chipped etc. We had a table lamp with a base that had fuzzy black stuff at the base; which we asked to replace because it was gross. The beds were comfortable. Breakfast was standard with a good overall selection of everything, including very nice bread section & good tea choices. The evening meal buffet was poor. The food is simply not good. The salads looked like they were compromised of vegetables from the previous days left overs. Main dishes dry, unappetising over cooked or kept warm until they’re inedible. Good desserts though. No quality control here. Serving staff unfriendly. During our stay it was obvious that the hotel is in urgent need of updating. The hotel is in a good position albeit close to a fun fare which is quite noisy at night, although not too late. Rooms are not sound proofed. The hotel is close to the airport hence there’s noise from take off; luckily there aren’t too many flights daily. There’s a really nice Mall close by & the promenade to the Laguna. The location of the hotel is good. The very best attribute is the view from the balcony.
We just returned from Israel and our trip included a 4-night stay at the Crowne Plaza Hotel Eilat. When we checked in our first room did not have working air conditioning. They then "upgraded" us to a suite (room 624). It was disgusting! It was dirty and very poorly maintained and should not be available until it is completed renovated. The carpet had prominent stains and was poorly patched in one area. The arm chair had a broken leg (which was obvious). The furniture and paint was in terrible condition with scratches and discoloration. It was late so we stayed the night in the terrible room. We contacted the front desk and the supervisor of housekeeping came to inspect the room and we were moved to a large beautiful suite (Room 750). In part I believe the upgrade was due to my Platinum status with IHG. The general condition of the hotel's common areas are somewhat dated. The buffet breakfast offered many options but was not great food. On the positive side, the employees that we had contact with, were very nice and tried to be helpful. Special thanks to Nadine Ben Haim from reception who went out of her way to try to accommodate us throughout are stay. Also, Suzan, the reception desk supervisor/manager was concerned and helpful. Alex, from the lobby bar was cheerful, helpful and welcoming.
The location is really nice, everything is close. They told us they renovated the hotel, but they did not much. Most things are old, the furniture, the sofa, rusty stuff, in the bathroom the rubbish from the guest before, when you open the water tap in the bathtube the water was yellow first. And like a lot of hotels in Eilat, it's just a tourist bunker. The stuff was partly very friendly, partly very unfriendly. And, a big +: The breakfast and food is just great, enjoyed it so much! The pool is ok, but needs maintainance as well. We had a round trip to Egypt, Jordan and than Eilat. And the Crown Placa was really the worst hotel we had. Standards in Egypt and Jordan seem to be higher.
Spent two (2) nights at this hotel. The room was clean, modern and very comfortable. Service was superb specially at the front desk. Food was very good, plenty and with a lot of choices. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel.
I must say the reviews were a little alarming, but in reality I could not see why so many people were complaining, the room was clean and also the public areas, nice pool, the food was very good, always plenty and lots of choices and tasty. the location is lovely with view to the lagoon, There is a great playing area for the kids. I would not hesitate to return to this hotel.
We stayed at this hotel as part of a group and many in our group were very disappointed with our experience. The first room we were given smelled so strongly of smoke that we requested another one. The 2nd room smelled ok at first, but later had a faint smoke smell as well. There were drips and streaks of paint on the carpets, walls and chairs, the couch had stains that looked like they had been there awhile, some of the light switches were broken, the door had been damaged and repaired, but the safety chain was never replaced, the slider to the balcony was difficult to lock as the latch was broken, cobwebs hung from the ceiling, the shower temperature oscillated between lukewarm and scalding hot, the pool was beautiful but cold and had short hours, pillows were way too big (we ended up using our travel pillows), flooring and overhead tiles in the lobby and patio areas were in dangerous disrepair. When we tried to call the front desk, no one would answer, but when we went down, they insisted that someone was there the whole time and all we had to do was call (others in our group had this same experience).
