We arrived at this hotel as part of a group for a 4 night stay shortly after it reopened following renovations and were disappointed. We had to switch rooms twice. We arrived after a long drive and wanted to take a nap but the airconditioning in our room did not work. It took a long time for a repair person to arrive. At first he said that it would take 10 minutes to fix but the repair process went on much longer and he finally called for help. At this point my wife went to the reception desk, said enough is enough and asked for a different room which we got. The room seemed to be fine. We were exhausted by this time but finally got our nap and then were out for the evening. We returned about 9:30 pm to find the bathroom flooding with the water coming from the toilet. We immediately called reception . After about 30 minutes no one had arrived. I went down to reception and the young lady there said that the order was recorded but she did not know where the service people were and when they would get to it. I told her that I saw water from the toilet bowl as a health issue that needed immediate attention. She replied that she would try to speed things up. I returned to the romm and we continued to wait. after a lengthy wait my wife went to the reception and started to yell that it was late and she needed to sleep. An assistant manager finally arrived and changed our room. It was already late and I had to pack up and move again. Note that this was after a renovation of the hotel. We never received an apology for the trouble they had put us through. After our group leader complained a bottle of wine, a bottle of mineral water, a few cookies and apples apeared in our room without even a note . I do not consider this to be a suitable recompense. The room itself was reasonably sized . The furniture was old and quite worn. Now for the positive points. The view from the balcony was great. The bed was comfortable. The hotel was very well located. The lobby was comfortably set up with a very pleasant outdoors patio overlooking a large pool. The pool area itself was very nice and the pool was surrounded by tall palm trees. We had a half board deal. The food was buffet style , tasty ,pleantiful with a wide variety of choices. For breakfast the orange juice was a drink and not the real stuff freshly squeezed which one gets at many Israeli hotels . At breakfast you could get freshly cooked eggs made to order. Service in the dining room was fine. Every evening entertainment was provided free. Use of the Spa facilities required an additional payment. We were very disappointed in the room facilities in a newly renovated hotel, the lack of a timely response to the difficulties with our rooms and the apparent lack of concern .
We stayed here for a couple of nights on way to Jordan to go to Petra. We were greeted by the reception when we arrive and we were told they were up grading us to Jr Suite which was ok the rug was old and worn there was sitting room with sofa bed that was made and separate room with King Size bed that was ok. It had a balcony that faced the pool which had nice view. The room was clean but it differently needs renovated.
We stayed At this poor hotel for 3 nights with our kids. The pictures on their website do not represent any part of the room we stayed in. The room was not clean. Coffe cups had stains and the carpet was ripped up and not vacuumed in some time. The bath was not usable as it was peeling. This place is just old. The staff was nasty! The bread lady at breakfast screamed at me that I could not take a new loaf of of bread and I had to use the one with only the end left. The front desk could care less about my complaints. They actually told me I was telling the truth about what the website said. When I should it to them they only said it is not our website it is IHG who owns the hotel. The pool on the website says heated. It is not. The rock climbing wall doesn't operate in this season and the kids club is pathetic. The gym had only a few machines and costs 25 shekel. I told them it did not say that on the website and was told this is not America! I wish I could say something nice but I can't.
A family trip end up as a nightmare, the service at the reception very bad - at 3PM we did were told that by law they can give us the room till 11PM and did not care we had a baby with us and a pregnant women - service at dining room Friday at 8PM the stand closed so religious people cannot go to do prayer if they want to still be able to eat Friday night dinner - staff very unpleasant most of the time - in fact they were stress because too many people - the rooms are old - hopefully they said that in November they are renewing the hotel maybe this will be good?! - I have complaint to the guest department wrote letters but unfortunately No news - would not recommend at all comparing to the crown plaza in Jerusalem or all around the world - Eilat very very poor
Generally the staff is nice and accommodating. The hotel itself is due in the coming month for a much needed remodeling job. The room was clean and comfortable but showing its age though. The one thing that annoyed me was lack of fresh fruit in the morning buffet. Why on earth fill the buffet with canned fruit? The only fresh fruit was grapefruit and melon, the rest was fruit coming out of cans.
So, I have been to Eilat before and it was over 25 years ago. WOW has the place changed. And for the better!! I chose this hotel as I am an avid user of IHG properties. This one does not disappoint. The location is fantastic in the inside of the wharf area. You can walk for hours in the duty free area with exceptional resaurants close by. The rooms are well appointed and the balcony facing the south gives you a fine view. Today I will be exploring more of the property and pool but can only imagine that I will not change my mind. This might be the best Crowne Plaza that I have stayed at!
I was part of a big conference where we took many many rooms. At each point at which we needed any staff everyone was cordial friendly and helpful, but... The rooms are in desperate need of a renovation and look like they haven't been updated in thirty years. First I was given a room that the door didn't lock, and when they switched my room, the safe had no door on it. The carpets and sofa were stained, the bathroom ceiling had mildew, the mattress had no support, but the room was clean. Water pressure in the shower was weak and there wasn't very hot water in the morning or night. Only when I showered once in the afternoon after hike was the water truly hot. The food at meals was plentiful with many options but none particularly delicious. Usually at hotels it's hard to stop eating because everything is so good, that was not the case. It was good enough, but that's it.
This is a lovely hotel is a little tired. The staff were great. Helpful and friendly. The pool is nice and cold. The breakfast is massive great choice and well priced. It does need a bit of tlc the carpets are a little worn but it's clean and comfortable. There is entertainment most evenings. It's in a good location and I'd stay here again
I looks like the hotel hasn’t changed for the last 18 years. The rooms are ok. The carpets are very very old. And so are the elevators. The dinning room is fine and cosy. The service from the desk or maintenance is very slow and it looks like they dont really wants to help ( for ex. We called them cause the a.c didn’t work after 3 days he was fine. The guy who came said the a.c is tired and cant work on high power. Change it to mid power and left. The pool is fine
The hotel staff are just lovely and accommodating. Especially if you consider challenges they have with some of the guests. This was my first visit in Eilat in 25 years, and my first ever at this hotel (i usually vacation at the Dead Sea several times a year) and the staff identified me as so, and we were upgraded to the top floor suite that included the most amazing balcony and accommodations. We were also given free wine, and late check-out to compensate for some issues that were not totally their fault. This is not a real five star hotel, and there is a lot of room to improve cleanliness as well as security to enforce non-smoking and basic "dont put your dirty feet on the lobby couch" for visitors, but considering some of the visitors (which i would vote to ban), once you were nice and kind to the staff -they reciprocated and were very nice to us. We had breakfast and dinner included, and both meals had so many options, it was easy to feel full and satisfied. My companion even got a lovely plate of gluten-free options. The Spa was intimate and worth the extra pay (we each got massages, each day -and they were great!). Location is great. I will return once i locate a time that is not a national or religious holiday to avoid the masses. The suite was spacious, and lovely. and again the staff: great people.
