Accommodations are dorm-like. Spartan but clean. Friendly staff. The views from the room are incredible. Kids loved the stairs and second story in each room. There is also a play area in the lobby for kids.

Staff was friendly and helpful. Room was clean and spaces.

Egilsstadir is a good backup option for staying in the Eastfjords region if you cannot find anything in Seyðisfjörður. Given that there is not much to see and do around the hotel, the price for the overnight stay seems a bit too much. Their breakfast is good though but still does not justify the price. The staff is pleasing. There is a small play area on the main level which my 6-year old really enjoyed. The beds and linens are clean and comfy, but the bathroom is really small and inconvenient to take a proper shower. The upper level in the family room that we had was really nice and kids enjoyed having the space to themselves.

We arrived at midnight and they had late check in, thank God! Checking in and out was very fast. The view was very pretty. Room was small but clean and quiet. I would stay again but the cost was pretty pricey for a simple room, but it was the cheapest compared to others.
