The hotel is conveniently located on York Place. You can walk to all the main tourists sites. It's very close to a tram station so easy access to and from the airport. I was booked in a cosy double room and there was a problem with heating. The staff were super helpful and moved me to another room and gave me an upgrade! The hotel is in New Town, a lovely area of Edinburgh and I would recommend staying in this area. Lots of great eating options and really close to everything without being in the tourist area.

The Place had so many mixed reviews but honestly we couldn’t have asked for more!!! Stunning room, clearly refurbished recently, the friendliest staff who couldn’t do more to help. We didn’t eat at the hotel as you have so many amazing restaurants on your doorstep. However we did utilise the bar and again, great staff and reasonably priced. We will definitely be back!

Got checked in an hour early which was great . Room was spacious and had everything we needed . Walking distance to the theatre and shops . Staff were very helpful and bar etc was cosy and warm .

The staff were very helpful, friendly and polite. The double standard room was very clean and comfortable. There was now window but, the skylight provided plenty of natural light and was easy to operate for ventilation and opening and closing the blind. Good location for shopping. The breakfast really was good. The only thing I would suggest for improvement is the brand of coffee and tea in the room. They tasted bland. I would definitely return and stay here next time I visit Edinburgh.

As I was travelling solo I was allocated a room on the lower level and the only source of light and ventilation was via the sky light, not an issue until bed time as you could not block out any light. The mattress was also of a poor quality. The staff were very friendly and location was good. Would I choose to stay here again, sadly no.

Great hotel in a perfect location for exploring Edinburgh. Right by a tram stop so easy to get to from the airport, also close to the train station. Lots of shops nearby and great restaurant options. Our room was huge, bed comfy, staff friendly. Would recommend for a long weekend in Edinburgh

Very welcoming and helpful staff. Comfortable and clean room, although several stairs to negotiate (up to 3 floor and no lift.) We requested a room with least no. of stairs and they were very accommodating. Great breakfast (extra cost). Within 5 minutes walk of several excellent restaurants and large shopping mall.
