Property and room were very clean and comfortable. The one thing I wasn’t aware of is there is no staff on site if you check in after 5:00pm. I had to call the number on the front door, download an app and complete several steps to access my room via phone. Once I got through that, the rest I’m of the stay was fine. The location was convenient with a restaurant/bar across the street and other stores within close walking distance.

Everything was great! There are 2 things that would greatly improve The Franklin Hitel experience.The front door was broken and you could not enter through it. Side door code was used. Second, there should be flatware in the kitchen as many guests heat food in the microwave. Many thanks for a most enjoyable stay!

This is our third time staying at this hotel. We especially like the common area with the small kitchen. However we have noticed far less attention by the staff. There use to be plates, bowls,and cutlery. Now there is barely any of that. There is a broken French door out to the patio area that has not been fixed in over a year! The front door does not allow entry. When told about it, the staff didn't seem to care. I am afraid that the owners are allowing this place to get a bit run down and that is a shame.

We received a text ready for check in and when we entered the room, it was not clean. There was a do not disturb sign left on the door so the staff did not enter but there are check out times for a reason. We had to wait further to be able to check into the room. We also didn’t have any staff around besides the first day. Our room wasn’t turned over during our stay and had to reuse towels.

Nicely decorated and great location ! Wish I had known the room would be so small. Not enough places to hang towels nor clothes (very small rod with 4 hangers). Back door to lobby wouldn’t shut, husband called it in, no call back, nor was it fixed. TV pointed towards the bathroom and couldn’t be turned.

The property is situated on a pristine stretch of the main road near Edgartown. After getting dropped off in the driveway, we were promptly greeted by a receptionist that helped introduce us to the various systems of the hotel. We were shown a very clean, modern-looking room with beautiful natural light coming in and had an easy time accessing the amenities/necessary apps that the property offers. The hotel's location on the main road in Edgartown makes it easy to head into town to eat or attend events.

Had a wonderful stay in Martha's Vineyard at the Franklin Hotel! We were fortunate enough to be able to book the back cottage, which was clean, quiet, and comfortable. The room was a free standing building behind the main building that was tastefully decorated both inside and out. The whole complex had lovely landscaping and appeared to be well maintained, although we did have a small issue securing the back door lock after stepping out onto the tiny back porch area of the cottage. The main building had 2 floors of rooms centered around a commons area with a shared kitchenette. The only issue I would foresee in the commons area would be a shared refrigerator that would likely be insufficient if the hotel was at capacity and all guests wanted to make use of it. The facility was nicely located, less than a 15 minute walk into town, and there was a bike rental shop right next door if you wanted to further explore the island. There was also Bad Martha's, a brewery that also served some tasty pizza, and a fantastic breakfast and lunch spot called Lucky Hanks right next door. Only minor issue we had was on check-in, the Franklin does not have a front desk. I was sent a message to download and app that would be used to access my room, but apparently I was not sent a follow up. Simply walked across the street the desk at the Edgar where the staff quickly resolved it. Overall had a great stay in MV and the Franklin was perfect for us!

The property was clean, well appointed and very nicely decorated. It is self serve type hotel without a front desk. We had difficulty using our no key, phone entry. Had to call and someone was quickly able to help us get in. Other guest said they also had difficulty with it. Coffee and cold water are provided in the common area with a common fridge to use. We also had a bag with towels and chairs were available to reserve. It was a pleasant 10 min walk to downtown area. Easy parking. If you are sensitive to noise that could be an issue. Overall a great experience.
